Phoenix and Sadie are suddenly living in an America that is no longer a nation. Rebel troops and corrupt government have goals of building a New World. They must exterminate the old America and those who lived in it before they can rebuild.
Cities are nothing but ghost towns as Americans have either been taken prisoner, gruesomely killed, or are in hiding. Surviving Americans are banning together and fighting to take back their country — but rebel troops are not the only enemy.
Vyco has commanded his followers to no longer lurk in darkness, but to fight against Phoenix and take her captive, killing anyone who interferes. With the assistance of Jayden, and his sister, Cassidy, Phoenix and her tight-knit group of friends combat the Evil that has held power for far too long. Who will save the world from complete annihilation? Brian — Sadie — Jayden — Phoenix — John — Cassidy?
They will either take back their land and have the happily ever after they all desire. Or they will be pulled into the darkness to forever be lost. Will they all survive, or will loss of one of them defeat them all?

Book three Phoenix Ashes Formally known as Midnight Storm
Phoenix has to comes to terms with the fact that the world isn’t what the humans believed it to be. Jayden, who Phoenix’s fallen in love with, is a Dark Angel. Jayden fell from the light. Jayden the decided to followed the evil Vyco through the darkest of places.
Phoenix, Jayden along with Phoenix's best friend, Sadie, and their other friends and family have enough of hiding in the dark. The humans want their world back and are willing do whatever it takes to accomplish that mission. The humans leave the cave and they see what the world has turned into. The humans want and need to have hope as they refuse to be kept in the darkness forever.
The humans have to battle. They don't only have enemy soldiers to fight, but dark forces to fight as well.
Goodness finds hope only to have evil devastate almost everything. It's a decent read but I personally did not like where it went. Josiah was totally disappointing and then he comes off looking like a total coward. Does it really matter what the council says when you know what needs to be done. Council is kind of like the way entitled people act. They are not good enough to bother with what they consider people beneath them so we should not waste resources on them. Instead of helping with a little let them for who cares we have what we need. Mentality of so many. Guess that's why I had issues with the story. It's a good read I just wanted a different outcome. I wanted more to care.
