Much better than the first one. Just in case you didn't like Axel and was on the fence about this one, take a chance and read it because it's really good and it's also starting to make sense. You also know there's more to come by this author because there are still plenty of questions plus she says so at the end of the book...lol.
Would you give up your dream of being a professional dancer and attending the best dance school for a little half brother? What if it's something you have worked for since you was a little girl? This is what Jenna has done for her little brother. It's not like both parents have died either. She has to stay off the radar for his father. Most people will say they will but how many really would. She is having a hard go of it but doing her best until she does something stupid. Guess the best thing for her is getting caught.
You can feel the connection between Jenna and Declan. You know they love each other but love can be scary.
Can't wait until the next one

This story was such an emotional roller coaster!
Declan meets Jenna when she interviews for a job at one of his clubs. And attraction is immediate and quick. But Jenna, having a lot of troubles of her own, disappears and Declan searches for her.

Ooh yep, such a satisfyingly smashing read! 😍 So good that I ended up reading it in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down.
M. Merin is a new-to-me author and this is my first book of hers… but it sure as hell won’t be the last. The blurb sums up a huge chunk of the plotline but it’s vague. So I was pretty much going into this story relatively blind.
I hadn’t expected to get sucked into their story instantly from their first encounter. Declan and Jenna sizzle! 🔥🔥 There’s a pretty big age gap between them but it’s hardly noticeable. Declan may be getting on in years but he’s still hunky and exudes that manly alpha-ness — plus he’s President of a badass MC!
Jenna is anything but selfish. Despite the horrible position she’s found herself in, it hasn’t killed her spirit and fiery will. She has a lot of guts to have done half the things she has (including her “job interview” with Declan).
But let’s be real… Jenna walking into Declan’s office in need of work was the best thing that could’ve happened to her! Same goes for Declan. 😄
They had instant chemistry and it definitely leaped off the pages. It’s a big reason as to why I was immediately hooked on their story from the get go. There was so much intrigue surrounding Jenna and the reason behind why she was in desperate need of a job.
But when she suddenly takes off, (just when things were heating up, mind you) — I was right there with Declan wanting to catch up to her so they could get back to business. 🤭😅
When Jenna’s personal story is revealed, and Declan realizes that there’s a lot more to her than her lasting first impression on him, it really catapults deep feelings and a vision of a possible future Declan never thought he could have or even wanted. Now, with Jenna it seems like he could have it all.
Ugh. An effortless read. Awesome storyline with some suspense added to really get this story pumping with adrenaline. There are some sensitive subject matter included that may trigger some readers, so keep that in mind before starting it. But to readers who’ve read MC romances before, the content included won’t come as shock.
Big thumbs up for the secondary characters (which are mostly other MC brothers). This book can technically be read as standalone but these club members clearly have history and there’s backstories there. I, for one loved reading this book, so I’m keen to read any previous ones to expand my experience of the world-building Merin has created with this Royal Bastards MC: Flagstaff Chapter.
The storytelling is fairly fast-moving, but not at all rushed in regards to the story itself. There’s a good balance of MC and romance, character history to get you up to scratch with how the characters came to be where they are in the present, and there’s good gradual development in our hero/heroine’s relationship. A little bit of banter and lighthearted humor added into the mix and this was one hell of an MC romance!
Declan caught me off guard with a couple things which if you don’t take these MC romances too seriously (which you really shouldn’t), you’ll find yourself rolling your eyes and laughing it off. Hehe.
My only issue is the ending was left open. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. From what I gather from the ending (and not at all uncommon with MC romance series’), is that they’ll probably make appearances in future books and therefore we get to see updates from them then, but if Declan and Jenna’s relationship had been summed up a little more I would’ve been so much more content… especially considering some new developments were introduced towards the end.
Nevertheless, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a new MC romance read. It’s quick and effortless, but it packs a punch! A great addition to the Royal Bastards MC! With an absorbing story line, likable characters, and giddy-inducing moments, you won’t regret adding this to your TBR! 😉

Declan runs his business with an iron first. Sometimes he has to deal with things a little differently. Jenna is doing what she thinks is best. There are two secondary characters that are important to this story. One is ok to hate and the other will talk his way into your heart.
This was a nice story to read. But there’s heartache here as well. We have our alpha male that seems to change once he’s met the one person who can get his heart beating again. Then we have a woman that does what she has to do in order to survive. She shows that not everything in life is all rainbows and unicorns. This story also shows how the hero on a white horse has changed to a different type of horse. Sadly it was over way too soon.
If you’re a fan of the MC trope that seems to be picking up speed than this would be a good choice. It gets your attention almost right from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until the very end. I became a fan of this author here and plan to check out more of her work. She reminded me though how much of the Royal Bastards I need to catch up on. Sad part is there are so many coming up I’m just not sure when I’ll go back but I know that I’ll get there eventually.

Declan is a thrilling ride that will leave you turning the pages, holding your breathe and wanting more until that very last satisfying page. Declan is an alpha, a hardcore MC President who only plays by the MC's rules. He is determined to get back what Jenna stole from his club, but he figures while he is at it he might as well "steal" Jenna's heart too.
I really enjoyed the adrenaline rush this story is and the way the author wove the romance and action together. I loved getting to know Declan and Jenna as they are prefect for each other; their both so suborn and so alpha that the tension between them really heated up the pages. The way the author creates the character and the MC world has be begging for more every time. This story is a prefect example of the author's ability to transport the reader into this story and to have them excited to stay, excited to turn the page and excited to read the HEA. I cannot wait for more from this author, this world and oh, my I CANNOT wait to learn about Wolfman! 4.5 stars.

Declan my Declan, what started out as taking revenge comes out as a story of love, compassion, understanding and realising if you let go than that love will come back to you freely with no fear just overwhelming joy. Declan knows what he wants and what to do to get it, with Jenna the possibities are endless. I love reading anything by author M Merin, I always get my happy ending, I would definitely recommend it, phenomenal read.

I loved this book! The bigger they are the harder they fall,. The ride to get there was filled with the tension and mayhem that the Royal Bastards are known for. Jenna and Declan are perfect together once the epiphany happens, you know cause the men take a bit to get there. Can't wait for more of them. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of book and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

I really enjoyed this age gap romance. Jenna is on the run protecting her brother. When she auditions for a job in a strip club owned by the RBMC she didn’t expect Declan. Then she does something she almost instantly regrets. Now she is not only on the run protecting her brother, but herself from Declan. Fast paced story that I really enjoyed.

Excellent read. The author did a fantastic job writting this story. It shows the evil that's in the world with trafficking women and children. Delcan is the President of his charter. When he meets Jenna for the first time he knew he had to have her. Jenna is on the run with her half brother from his cruel father. So these two are complete opposites, but it's fun to see them work thereselves out. Justin is a hoot and loves to talk and is protective of his sister even if he's young. HEA, but more to come.

My heart absolutely sank when Jenna pulled her little stunt for survival, but then it totally flipped when she tamed the big bad wolf Declan. This story falls in line with the Royal Bastards series. The men are larger then life but their love interests are fierce too. Definitely a book of twists and turns.

Great May to December MC Romance. The author gave us an exciting suspenseful storyline involving two well defined headstrong characters. I fell in love with Jenna from the get go. A young woman who gives up her lifelong dreams to save her much younger step-brother, Justin. On the run she does what it takes to keep the two of them safe and hidden. Including interviewing for a stripper job with Declan, the Prez of the Royal Bastards MC, Flagstaff Chapter. During the interview Jenna makes a desperate decision that changes the course of not only her and Justin’s lives but that if Declan’s too.
Kudos to the author for giving us another thrilling addition to the RB, Flagstaff series. This is one emotional ride you don’t want to miss.

Absolutely love M. Merin’s books and this was no exception by any means! Declan is the president of the MC club who happens to robbed by a cute little thief. Jenna is a “single mom” down on her luck trying her best to keep her and Justin above water and most importantly off from everyone’s radars. When Declan discovers that he’s been robbed instead of telling his chapter about it he decides that Jenna will be his, by any means necessary. When he finally finds her he orders her kidnapping and unknowingly sets his life in a new direction. Jenna is not the woman he thought she was, but neither is he. They cling onto each other in hopes of a new life together...if only they can silence her past once and for all.

Declan meets Jenna when she's looking for work.He sees something inher but what ? She does the unthinkable she steals his money. Two month later he finds her revenge is on his mind in the form of her body. She finally tells him the truth about he step brother she cares for and his dad and how bad he is. Declan puts two and two togther and realises what has been happening in his town. Their journey is action packed romantic heartbreaking.Can they have it all ? I feel like I’ve been waiting for Declan for a hot minute and OMG Merin did not disappoint! From the moment Jenna ended up in Declan’s office you could feel the heat radiating off the pages from Declan for her. He’s a strong and dangerous alpha who knows what he wants and takes it. That’s exactly what he does in this book whether Jenna likes it or not she is his from the moment he laid eyes on her. The two of them compliment each other perfectly and create an absolutely hot couple. Can’t wait for more!

When you love something set it free if it comes back it is yours forever , unless you are a member of the RBMC then search for it and bring it back because that is what Declan does with Jenna after she runs , the road to their happy ever after is not an easy one, Declan and Jenna meet when she applies for a job and the sparks are there , I can not wait for another book from this chapter

This was a great read that takes you to the world of Bikers. This book felt so real, you felt as though you were there. It moves along at a pace that makes for an easy read. The characters are amazing and you feel as though you know them and you want to be there for them. This book has to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it.

What an emotional, sexy, and gut-wrenching addition to the Royal Bastards. This starts out as one thing that turns into so much more. The story grabbed me and kept me reading until the very end. There is danger and mystery and suspense but also love, compassion, forgiveness, and passion.

I absolutely loved Declan and Jenna’s love story. It was dark and entertaining and I didn’t want it to end. These characters have a way of drawing you in. I’m addicted to this series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
