Jasper knows he is someone damaged and dangerous, the scars on his body prove it. But his memories have been taken from him. He knows not why, or how, he came to be in the locked room with the pretty, vulnerable human, but he knows three things: the King wants him dead, Ada is his mate, and he’ll do anything to claim her.

Trusting each other is their first step to uncovering the truth and avoiding certain death. But how can Ada feel safe with a strange fae who keeps dark secrets one minute, and then stokes the flames of her desire the next? How can she forgive the broken fae for hiding the most precious secret of all – his heart.

"I would never leave you. Do you understand? I will always find you. You're the reason I'm still breathing. Your voice calls me from the darkest places. I can't... I can't live without you."

5+ Well-cursed stars!

This was such an amazing and heart-wrenching conclusion to the Wolf shifter story arc of the Fae Guardians world! Ever since we learned of Jasper in Rush's book, I've been dying to get my hands on his story as I knew his would be a tumultuous journey of love, forgiveness, and hardship. And Lana did not disappoint in the slightest with THE DREAMS OF BROKEN KINGS!
"I still think you need to believe in yourself, but maybe this will help. I'm already in love with you, Jasper. And I won't let you give up. If you're drowning, then I'll pick you up. I'll swim us both to the surface, and if I can't, then I'll drown with you. I won't let you suffer alone."

In book two TSOSC, we learn that Jasper has been kidnapped, tortured and abused by his father for ten years. After Thorne and Laurel rescue him and bring him back to the Order, they realize that he has been cursed and has had his memory wiped. But even with no idea who he is, Jasper knows that Ada is his mate as soon as he sees her and portals her away after the Order threatens to separate them. While Ada and Jasper work to figure out where they are and who he is, Jasper slowly starts remembering his haunted past and how many believe he is destined for greatness. However, his stubbornness and self-hatred are his biggest obstacles in his quest to overthrow his father as King, but with Ada by his side and his cadre guarding his back, Jasper may be able to move on from his past into the light.
"You forget, human. I sense your desire. I know what your body wants, even if your mind is still fighting it. You belong to me, but I also belong to you. I will never leave you. Never."

For me, there was not one aspect of this story that I did not love! My poor babe Jasper was such a broken soul; my heart just wept for him and everything he has been through since he was a young boy. He carried so much guilt for things he really had no control over--things that he did and things that were done to him--but Ada's caring soul was the perfect balm for his deep hurt. She was strong when he didn't know how to be and gentle when he didn't want to be. They were absolute perfection together, and I loved their turbulent yet captivating story. It was great seeing all of my favorite characters again--Rush, Clarke, Thorne, and Laurel--and seeing how they've adapted as well. I'm glad we finally have some resolution for this story arc, but I am so stoked to see what havoc the Vampires stir up next! ♡

My Jasper, the broken and cursed Guardian and Seelie Prince who is saved by his Well-blessed mate..

Oh it was wonderful.
A little annoying back and forth of "I don't deserve you - No, it's me who doesn't deserve you - No, it's me!.." was too much but the rest was a fabulous adventure.

The chemistry was a bit better with this couple but damn, I feel like the author is afraid of writing too hot scenes - every time it gets interesting, she shifts the narrative to something tragic or just fades to black. And it's extremely disappointing as this series could have been phenomenal if not the lukewarm chemistry.

I'm still off to read the next one.

Okay I'm so angry at Goodreads right now because it deleted my whole review for this book and it was such a good review! Which this book deserves because it is totally f**king, mind-blowingly AMAZING.

I can't write it all over again, but basically I ranted and raved that I adored Jasper and Ada was amazing, and the book was so suspenseful it gave me heart palpitations, and it's the best, and I'm totally obsessed with this series. Ob-sesssssed.

It was ok...better than the last one though. Kind of felt like both a lot of stuff and nothing at all happened at the same time.

Yes, it's official. This series DOES get better with every book; even when you think it can't. I think this might be my favourite so far.

Plot:
Jasper has been tortured for the last ten years and has lost his memory due to a dark mage's curse. The person responsible is his father King Mithras of the Summer Court. Jasper is his bastard son and only heir to the throne.

When Ada wakes up from a groggy sleep, she finds herself in a dilapidated room with a crazy man who is surprisingly gentle with her and casually offers to mate with her. Ada realises that she has the power to peel his curse marks from his body and thus allow his memories back. The more they uncover, the more pain is unravelled.

This book was BEAUTIFUL. Jasper is vulnerable and he makes mistakes but the way he clings on to Ada broke my heart. She was the perfect mate for him. She is a healer and so patient with him as he comes to turns with his trauma.

I think the love aspect of the stories was most evident here. Jasper is in love with Ada and he never shies from telling her how much he needs her. I loved it.

I think this is the darkest book in the series so far; the torture Jasper has been through, the murders King Mithras commits, the memories and Ada's childhood. It was all a lot darker than the previous books and my heart broke for both of these characters.

They heal each other by the end but what a journey they have!

I can't wait to move on to book 4 and find out what mischief Indigo will find himself in ;)

Ada and Jasper are my new favorite couple! I have a feeling I’m going to say that each time I pick up the next book. What I love about this series is that they continue to get progressively worst.

Jasper’s story is the final story in this trilogy, but the storyline will continue in the new trilogy with the vampires. Out of all three wolves, jasper is definitely the most broken. We know from the other two books that jasper has been missing for a decade.

We find out what had been happening to him in that time. Jasper has been tortured and used, caged in metal, and stripped of his memories. The road to recovery is a long one because of all the trauma he has faced. Ada is the perfect companion because she is calm and patient. I loved watching their relationship blossom throughout the story. They had the best chemistry in my opinion.

What I enjoy most about this series is the overall storyline that connects them all. I am so invested and want to meet each key player in this game. I can only imagine how this will end and how epic it will be. I’m invested and here for the ride!

The narrators do an absolutely amazing job bringing this story to life!

First off, I absolutely love Jasper is my favorite guardian so far in this series! Jasper has had a horrible past that he cannot fully remember. Ada also has her own history that has shaped her after being abandoned as a child. Ada has moved past most of her childhood, but she still has so much room to grow. Jasper needs someone to not only help him remember who he is, but accept him for what has happened to him.

The growth that both these characters go through in this story is absolutely beautiful. It is a great reminder of our own shortfalls, Ada says it best “We have a saying from our time: I’m only human. It means, I’m not perfect. No one is. I’m going to make mistakes.”

This is a post-apocalyptic dystopian world with a fantasy twist, a combination of two of my favorite genres. The world that Lana has created is so detailed and I absolutely love all the characters.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this story & you need to start this series if you haven’t already!

I enjoyed the overall arc and writing of this book as much as the others, but it still fell short 😭

Jasper was supposed to be this super sexual being and the author just didn't deliver that. The foreplay was maybe like 3 paragraphs and then it would fade to black as soon as he thrust into her. The blood sucking scene between Ada and one of the vamps was more sexual than the actual sex "scenes".

Dear Lana,

If you're going to label these as STEAMY, then actually write full on, descriptive sex scenes. A book isn't steamy if the foreplay is shortened/simplified and you fade to black for the P in V parts. (This happens in every single book on the Fae Guardians series)

Do I enjoy these books? Yes. Will I continue on with the other books at some point? Also yes. But please, think on your labeling/categorizing.

I just KNOW that Indigo's book isn't gonna be at the steam level that it should be for him, either. Which makes me sad.

This book was more slow paced than the previous two books which is probably why it was my least favorite of the trilogy. More than two thirds of the book is spent doing domestic things or teaching Ada about the new world. I know these books can be read as standalone but having to go through learning about the world building for a third time was not exactly thrilling. Although I liked reading about Jasper dealing with his trauma, I wasn’t a fan of the whole amnesia storyline. Ada was an okay female lead. I thought she was great at the beginning, but then slowly she started to irritate me.

These books have become guilty pleasures for me, and so I’m planning on read the next trilogy with the vampires. It feels like vampires are becoming a trend again. Or have they always been a trend and I simply got over them for a bit? Not sure, but can’t wait to keep reading these books.

And now we come to the third and final book about the wolf shifters in this world. There are more books in the series but it seems the next three will be about the Vampire Guardians. In case you’re wondering, yes, I’m planning on reading them even though I don’t often read books with vampires as heroes.

The previous book was actually the start of this book. This one is about Ada, the third friend who crossed thousands of years frozen and is just waking up. Jasper has been rescued from his evil father, the king of summer and Jasper is very damaged, almost to a catatonic state. He has no memory but when he comes upon Ada, something triggers him and he takes her with him and they disappear.

And now this book starts. It’s pretty confusing to explain but I perfectly understood what was going on. Jasper and Ada go on a quest to track down his memories. There is a powerful bond between them and of course we know they are mates destined to be together. As each female from before wakens, she has a special power. Ada’s power is healing.

They discover through their travels and adventures that Jasper is destined to be king but he’s not sure he wants the responsibility. He’s racked by guilt over what he was forced to do during all the years he was held prisoner. Some of it was pretty grim.

So that’s the Coles notes of this story. Both Ada and Jasper are wonderful as hero/heroine. Ada led a very lonely life before she met Clarke and Lauren, her friends. She was abandoned when she was very young and forced to grow up on her own with the exception of one elderly man. Yet she maintained her basic goodness and heart for others.

Jasper is also an interesting hero. He already feels bad because he feels he let down Rush and Thorne, the heroes of the first two books. He watched his mother die trying to protect him from his father who planned to kill him. Sometime later he went through the trial to become a Guardian. He was actually hoping to die as the trials were deadly and very few made it through. But he was one of the ones who did. When not doing his Guardian duties, he led a very lascivious life style, one he regrets when he meets Ada and experiences a true connection with the woman that is destined for him.

I loved that the main couples of the previous two books also played important roles though they didn’t overshadow Ada and Jasper at all. I continue to be impressed with the world building. Each successive book adds more layers and while this particular storyline ended, it’s clear there is more planned.

If you’re a fan of fantasy romance, this is a great series. If you are thinking of getting your feet wet with this particular sub-genre, this is a good series to read. They are all available on KU so if anything sounds interesting, try it.

📗The trauma that Jasper suffered I felt was always going to be super interesting to read.
📗I loved the amnesia and the way Ada was able help him uncover his memories
📗The chemistry was built well in this book and the characters fit together so well.
📗The broader story was a little bit stagnant in this book. So would be great to see they emerge in the next series.
📗I think this was my favourite so far.

🍷“Being a d * head must be ingrained so deeply into the male psyche that it survived a holocaust and the mutation of DNA.”
🍷“I told you not to remove it,” he growled. “I don’t want to remember.” “Tough titties,” she replied and wrested her hand from his iron grip. “You’ve wallowed for long enough.”
🍷“Seriously?” she said. “I’m asking you to pour your heart out and you’re drooling over my tits.” “Tits?” His gaze lifted to hers, a quirk to his full lips. “Breasts.” She waved at her own. “Whatever you call them in this time.” “I call them mine,” his voice was low and raspy, and damn her, it triggered a bolt of traitorous heat straight through her core.
🍷“Share it with me,” she said. “Let me feel your pain so you’re not alone.”
🍷“I would never leave you. Do you understand? I will always find you.” Silence. Nothing. Her lids fluttered low. “Ada,” he choked, gently shaking her. “You’re the reason I’m still breathing. Your voice calls me from the darkest places. I can’t… I can’t live without you.
🍷His teeth trailed along her neck. “I will protect you, feed you, pleasure you, revere you.”

Of course, I couldn’t stay away from my favourite fae guardians for too long. This was my first time reading this one, and I loved it just as much as the previous two. I love this series for so many different reasons, but I’m always struck by how much of the world we get to discover in each new book, and I don’t see that stopping in the next books either. This one builds on some aspects from the first two, but there are also a couple of parts of the world we’ve never seen before that get explored in this and I really enjoyed those parts. I also really liked getting to see Jasper and Ada have their moment, especially as they’ve both been important to Rush and Thorne and Clarke and Laurel respectively. I hope we’ll get to see more of the three couples interacting as the series goes on, along with the new couples as they come in. I’d been planning to take a break reading this series between this book and book four, as I’m waiting to pick up the next books from Lana at RARE, but after that ending, I don’t know that I can. I’m so ready for the vampires to have their moment to shine.

The Dreams of Broken Kings.
Season of the Wolf
Fae Guardians Series Book 3.

The Dreams of Broken Kings is book 3 of The Fae Guardians series by Lana Pecherczyk and it is a stunningly amazing book.

Having read the first two books last year I was more than happy to revisit the world of Elphyne and find out more about Jasper and Ada and what their part in this post apocalyptic/fae world was going to be. And I was not disappointed! From the very first page this book grabs your attention with its unique world, magic system, and beautiful writing . . . and of course the Fae Wolf Shifters - they definitively keep your attention.

I love the world and the characters of this series (I’m pretty sure Jasper is my favorite out of the wolves) and I definitively recommend it to anyone looking for a unique series filled with magic, fae, romance, and literally everything else you could want in a book series.

This picks up immediately after the second book with Ada waking up to find herself in a dingy cabin with a silent Jasper looming nearby. Ada realises she must work with Jasper to survive in this new world and Jasper knows he will do anything to protect his Ada.

Pecherczyk's writing pulls so strongly at my heartstrings. Her writing is incredibly beautiful and the callbacks and foreshadowing to other characters and events gives me goosebumps.

JASPER AND ADA 🫠🫠🫠 You are giving Clarke and Rush a run for their money because you two are perfection!

I 100% recommend this series. With each book you learn more about this new world, the inhabitants, and it's politics. Each couple feels fresh and their story of getting to know one another is enthralling! I cannot wait to dive into the vampires next!

Lol I don’t know how this happened but I started here instead of book 1. Oops
Beside my mistake I really enjoyed the book. Both Ada and Jasper are good characters. I liked learning about them throughout the story.
I also really enjoy reading about shifters especially wolves. So this aspect was very enjoyable for me.
This is a fun and interesting world and I’m very excited to continue the series. And going back to the actual first book lol

This story brought the largest departure from the original group, but I found myself not enjoying it any less. This dystopian world is fascinating and I am completely onboard for the journey! Jasper and Ada's story was as enjoyable as the first two and I am excited to see how the Guardians will continue to pair up and hopefully save their world.

Jasper. I loved Jasper’s story so very much. Dark and broken and fae and wolf and prince and king. So much happens in this book. I’ve loved each one so far in this beautiful series but Jasper definitely I hold closer. I cannot wait for more in this series. I fell hard for Ada and Jasper.

I thought he would be more of a big deal. The first two books set him up to be charming and amazing, this book was like a Slow burn and you don’t really learn about the MC personalities until more than half way through.

⭐️⭐️⭐️️

I enjoyed this one more than book 2, despite really liking Thorne. This story was interesting and I loved seeing how the wolf fae had ceremonies and live when they aren’t Guardians. That whole fertility event was so fascinating.

Jasper has a lot of trauma to work through and I liked that Aida just seemed to go with the flow while trying to internally figure it all out.

Excellent 3rd book of the series! I enjoyed books 1 and 3 the most. I wasn’t as connected to the main characters in book 2, which made that book my least favorite of the 3. I am looking forward to continuing the series and hope we get more of these characters throughout!
