I was going to write my review right after reading but I needed to read it again. I absolutely loved Dalton and Mandy and wanted to give them the review they deserved.

Have you ever read a book that sucked you in and hit you with so many emotions from the first chapter. That's what Hollow did to me. Dalton and Mandy have always been one of my favorite couples. Every hardship they went through in their first book to be together had you hoping nothing else would hit them and rock their relationship

Y'all this book was everything I wanted and needed. Mandy and Dalton have been to hell and back and seeing them both overcome so much is amazing. Walker grows so much himself in this book and I can't wait to see how much he keeps growing. The bombshell at the end was amazing!!!

There are a few things I notice about books that I an drawn to the most. I love to cheer for the underdog. Someone who is so downtrodden but gets a chance to see the sunshine again. I love books where our hero may be a bit rough around the edges but still loves with a giant heart. And I don't always know this going in, but a love to have a bit of a surprise in the story. Something I wasn't expecting.

So let's talk about HOLLOW and how it matches up to my favorites list. It couldn't have been a b

I had to let this one stew for a few days before I could get my thoughts together. I typically read books filled with suspense and surprise twists. This was not that book, but it was just as gut wrenching, if not more. There is so much heaviness to what Mandy and Dalton are doing through and it's hard to wrap my head around the fact that every hurdle they face is one hundred percent real life stuff that so many people can relate to. We see the strain on Mandy and Dalton's marriage, which is no j ...more

I've come to expect loads of feels from Laramie Briscoe, but Hollow takes it to a whole new level. I also expect a gripping story with characters I feel like I know when I crack open a Laramie Briscoe book, and again, she doesn't disappoint. Mandy and Dalton took me on a journey that was both heartwrenching and hopeful. These characters are both flawed and being there as they faced those flaws felt so real it was sometimes hard to look at, but at the same time, I couldn't look away - I absolutel ...more

Here’s some tips. Feeling emotional before you read this book? Grab some chocolate and some Kleenex before you proceed. Is it nighttime and you think to yourself “I’m just going to read a little before bed...” STOP!!! Because guess what. You’ll be in my boat. 11pm. Wide awake. Stomach aching. Guts metaphorically lying in tatters on the floor. Thanking God your husband AND dog fell asleep watching tv in the living room so that they can’t see what a freaking wreck you are after reading this book. ...more

Before I even started, I was certain that this book was going to be just like Mandy’s book in the series of short stories. It would leave me a bleeding, broken emotional mess but I needed to read it anyway. This book really surprised me because while there are lots of dramatic emotional moments, it’s lighter than I was expecting it to be. Throughout the story, there’s this sense of hope, that even if the sky is dark right now that it’ll be brighter again in the future. Mandy, Dalton, and Walker’ ...more

Visceral. When a book connects with you soul-deep, you wonder how the author ever managed to knit herself back together because for sure writing this book would have left Laramie Briscoe raw and vulnerable. Every sentence, every keystroke, you can feel how emotionally vested Ms Briscoe was.

As a reader, it left me in awe and this book was not an easy one to read ... at least not for me. Being a Bereaved Mother and someone who has dealt with depression and attempted suicide, I connected with Mand

After reading Hollow, I just had to take a deep breath and close my eyes. Hollow was a truly amazing read that left me feeling absolutely gutted. As someone who has experienced the loss of a child, this book hit on all the emotions that I had felt. In Hollow, Dalton and Mandy must face the loss of their child. Each grieved differently, but they both came out stronger after fighting their way back to one another. Before reading, have a few tissues ready or maybe a bOx of tissues. This is one of L ...more

I don't know that I can even express in words how great this book is. It's very raw and emotional. Being a long-time fan of the series, I knew going into this that Mandy and Dalton's journey was not an easy one, but I wasn't ready for how engrossed in their world, their relationship, their thoughts, feelings, fears, etc., that I would be in while reading this. I don't want to give anything away...and anything I specifically would touch on in normal reviews will be too much of a spoiler and I jus ...more

Dalton and Mandy’s story was definitely a emotional one in every aspect. The struggles and tragedy they are suffering is so real and something unfortunately so many families deal with so in so many ways this book felt real and was written impeccably. These two are so in love with each other but life keeps beating them down and feel they can’t breathe anymore. All the support in the world is not enough to mend what’s been broken. Beyond loved this story

This book was such an emotional read. From the very beginning of the book I was pulled into their story. This story honestly helped me in so many ways. I lost my dad earlier this year and I am having a difficult time moving on. I am an emotion wreck inside most of the time. This book helped show me that no matter how broken you are you must draw on what strength you have and draw strength from the people around you. No matter what you are never alone. Mandy and Dalton’s story was just incredible ...more

Hollow deserves so much more than the 5 stars I can give it. This story was raw and real. It’s a story that many can relate to and I think it was an important one to tell. My heart broke so many times through the short stories reading about Mandy and Dalton and the heartbreak and pain they both were feeling. This story brought it all together and showed that there is a light past the darkness but that the darkness will always be a part of you. Laramie did an amazing job demonstrating the importa ...more

Wow, what an emotional and touching read. This one is an expanded version of the shorts for Dalton and Mandy. It goes into greater detail of the struggle that they had to face after their loss. Its about how they overcome and help each other heal. There's some steam and suspense too. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book and my review is 100% honest.

Sometimes you come across a book that's so relatable and full of so many lessons. Hollow is one of those books and deserves far more than 5 stars. This book is so emotionally charged and has left me completely breathless. Dalton and Mandy has gone through more in their short while than most couples experience in years of marriage. My heart breaks for these two and their little family with all the sadness that has taken over their lives. They've lost so much yet they hang on tight to everything t ...more

I anticipated Hollow would be emotional due to the subject matter and not surprisingly, it invoked a lot of feelings. Tears when the characters were at their lowest and happiness as they overcame each obstacle. Mostly though, it was moving. Dalton and Mandy’s faults are relatable and not unlike what any of us face. Taking the steps to overcome life’s difficulties can make you feel vulnerable. To see them work through the hurt and come out the other side in a better place was inspirational. I thi ...more

I've loved Mandy and Dalton from the the very beginning and if you have too grab some tissues and wine because your going to need it ready their story. I've gone through the tragedy that Mandy and Dalton have been through not once, but twice. My heart broke for them. Their story is heart breaking, gut wrenching, but at the same time it brings them closer together as a couple and family. When Walker broke down on my god I want to wrap him up in a great big bear hug. I loved seeing Mandy become st ...more

Mandy and Dalton's story has been building with the series of shorts we got earlier this year. This is a story of acceptance, to always be honest and true. It is a reminder that love often isn't enough to hold a relationship. As a family Mandy, Dalton and Walker need to accept the past and strive for better in the future. This story will break your heart many times, but in the end brings all of the pieces together to make you whole.

Wow! What a roller coaster! Dalton and Mandy’s struggles come to a head and Mandy finally gets the help she needs to move forward with her life and get back to her family. I cried so many times throughout this book. It was heartbreaking, real and inspirational. I loved all of the characters in this book, but really felt for Mandy and Dalton’s son, Walker. I really loved this book. Totally worth reading.

That ending! Read this story from the beginning - don’t cheat.
I enjoyed reading this one. Mandy and Dalton are a couple who I have loved from the beginning. And I’ll admit I was a little mad at Laramie for writing Mandy the way she did. I didn’t want these two to have any issues.
Luckily, this is a romance story in the end and love does prevail!

What a great emotional read this was. Mandy and Dalton have been thru so much together, and apart. Sometimes everything looks perfect, but it isn't, it's time these two start working as a team instead of against eachother. This read made me look into myself at a few similarities I had with Mandy, made me think of how to try and fix myself, as Mandy did. I know this is a work of fiction, but I'm sure it was all too real for some of us readers. Amazing 5 plus star read!

Hollow will break you for what Mandy is going through. I have loved Mandy and Dalton but what Mandy is going through will break your heart and make you want to fix it. Dalton does the best he can and is absolutely devastated that he is not the one to be able to help her he loves her so much. Walker it breaks my heart the way he feels. This story was so packed full of emotion. The struggles, working through them, being better for each other. I love the love Mandy and Dalton have for each other. And it was awesome “hearing” Walker too. This author never disappoints me. I can’t wait for her next release.

Please bear with me while I say a few things.
1) There are not enough stars to date this book so I will have to settle for the maximum Five Stars.
2) After reading bits of this book on Laramie's Facebook page I said come on Jean pull up your big girls pants and start reading this book as you are ready, Boy was I wrong.
3) Get ready to feel so many emotions that you find yourself sobbing so get the tissues ready as you are definitely going to bed them.
4) This story will stay with you long after you

Holy emotional roller coaster! This story was so hard to read but so well written. It is deep, emotional, and a story that needed to be shared.

Mandy is so lost after miscarrying and she has so many demons that she can’t ask for the help that she so desperately needs. It leads to her ending up in a dangerous place in her head and her father finding her in the nick of time to save her and get her the help she needs, but will she ever be able to find the Mandy that is lurking inside of her and fin

This is a book where the story doesn’t begin here. You should read Dalton first before proceeding here.

Dalton has feelings he can’t seem to share. At one point he has an epiphany which just shows that maybe it’s not just women that can do that. Mandy is trying to heal. What I thought was nice was how the author had her write letters to herself. I think that makes it a little more personal then if you write in a journal – I just may steal that idea. On the flip side, the scene brought tears to m
