Oh my gosh! That was so much fun. There’s humor and mystery and felines galore. Some of these stories gave me insight into already favorite characters, and the rest introduced me to brand new favorites. They all transported me to their individual worlds, and I foresee a lot of manic one-clicking in my future. This anthology completely stole my day away and yet I don’t regret a single second of it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.

What an amazing collection of stories from so many fantastic authors. Each story added to the perfect mysteries. Don’t miss out.

This is a fun collection of eleven short stories by different authors and is a great way to find a new favourite author without reading a full book. Each book is a novel out of the author series so if you are familiar with the series then it is another chance to catch up with your favourite characters. All involves either witches or cats (most of which can talk). There is some real gems in here and is great for any aged reader, there is the odd murder mystery ( but no graphic details) for sensit ...more

I was hoping to give an overall rating of 4 stars, but too many low points and problems.

‘About this boxed set’ section needed some proofreading (makes the series off to a bad start). “This collection of 11 all-new, never-before-read cozy…” In the next paragraph, “…come celebrate Halloween with ten sweet and delicious stories.” Evidently one isn’t sweet and delicious.

Black Cat Benefit-2 stars: Seems like Angie is the only one who can do anything to prepare for the party; she’s bouncing all over t

Overall, I give the book a 4.4 rating. Most of the stories could use a good proofreader.

Black Cat Benefit by Molly Fitz---4 Stars
I enjoyed this addition to the Pet Whisperer, PI series. All the gang are back for a charity event to benefit the local animal shelter. Angie has to solve a murder without the help of Octo-Cat. I would have liked the story more if it had gone back and wrapped up the event after the murderer was revealed. Octo-Cat seemed to be a tad malicious in this story--much more so

This is my favorite Halloween anthology! Two of my favorite authors were included along with a lot of new potential favorites. I like that each story tells you where it falls in the series. Lots of cats, not all of them black, add to the mysterious going-ons.

Black Cat Benefit – Octocat returns as Nan hosts a benefit for the animal shelter. Unfortunately, a murder takes place during the event. Can Octocat get over his annoyance with a crowder of black cats to lend a paw?

Usually when you get an anthology there is one or two great stories and the rest you slog through. Not so in this great group. Each one holds its own. Many are prequels or first in a new series; all stand on their own even if they are further into their series (e.g. Black Cat Benefit).

Many of these wonderful authors I have had the pleasure of reading at least one book previously. For some, this was my first and I pray it won’t be my last.

The unifying factor was, as the title suggests, a black ca

A great collection of spooky mysteries that definitely put you in the mood for Halloween. Magical cats and people trying to solve a mystery sometimes involving a murder. I am just getting started so here are the ones I have read so far--

Black cat Benefit by Molly Fitz - Octo Cat is one sassy cat. Of course Angie find a dead body and is immediately on the case to find the murderer all while helping host the black cat benefit.

Secrets of the Black Cat by Mila Riggs - Two young girls learning how to

🍂Hit your cat 🐱and kitty quota in this variety pack anthology🐈

Most of these authors were new to me. This was a good way to get a feel for the author's style of writing and meet some new cat sidekicks in tales that are mostly standalone but fit into an existing series. The authors even guide you to where each story would fit in their existing series.

I loved the characteristic snark and inflated ego of Molly Fitz's Octo-Cat and was introduced to a darling, nervous Chihuahua named Paisley (I guess

This collection was on sale right before Halloween, so how could a cat lover and cozy mystery enthusiast pass it up? Sadly, not all of the offerings in this collection were made alike. All of them were closer to novella length, which made them quick reads. One of them only gave a token nod to black cats. Many of them would have benefited from the help of even the most casual of editors. A couple of them had main characters who I just couldn’t like enough to want to read more books about them. Fun collection of stories. I like how they tell you where it fits into a series even though they can be read as stand-alone.

A Haunted Offer by Carolyn Ridder Aspenson
In Spooks for Sale, Alyssa Grey finds out she’s a rare witch by having the ability to see and communicate with ghosts. Now Alyssa is preparing another house to sell while staying on the good side of her demanding boss, Iris. Working with her familiar, cheese-addicted mouse John, Alyssa must find out who killed previous home owner Co

(Don't) get spooked by this wonderful Halloween collection!
I'm not a great fan of cats, black or otherwise, since 2 of my pet rabbits were killed by them.
But some of them are cute. Not Octo-Cat, the main cat in Black Cat Crossing. He is a spoiled, irritating specimen. But I like the humans in his life. And the mystery is good!
Secrets of the Black Cat makes me want to read more in this series! Tigers, panthers, magic. Sounds like fun!

A collection of cozy mysteries involving cats! This is a great collection with many short stories.

I mainly read for Molly Fitz Black Cat Benefit! I love Angela, October-cat, NaN, and Paisley. These characters are great and I love the cozy mystery! NaN is always up to something and this time it is a benefit for the local animal shelter. Of course Angie stumbles upon a murder and uses her Pet-Whisperer PI skills to investigate!

11 authors come together to bring us cozy stories to curl up with and enjoy mystery, fun, and of course, cats!

The stories are all short enough for a quick read, but be prepared to be so engrossed in the fun you devour more than one at a time. Clean reads, fun storylines and unusual characters make this anthology a very good read.

They are all stand-alone reads, set in the authors' own series. Introducing a varied collection of quirky characters, ranging from ghosts, physics, to a PI that can talk

This is a great collection of stories by multiple authors. All of them fit into various series by the authors but can be read on their own. I really enjoyed most of the stories and now have some new series to read; however, some of the stories had quite a few errors/typos that should have been caught and they detracted from my overall enjoyment. I especially loved Molly Fitz's, Black Cat Benefit; Emmie Lyn's, Black Cat Comes Back; and Lisa Siefert's, The Witch Wears Prada. And, of course, all th ...more

Love, and definitely recommend!

I have to admit: I adored this collection! Of course, there are always stories in a collection that speak to me more than others, but I really enjoyed them! But hey, as a cat lover, I felt drawn to all the cats in the stories! Cute, cuter, cutest, or sometimes snarky, but they all added so much to the stories! The stories by Molly Fitz, Emmie Lyn, SE Babin, Carolyn Ridder Aspenson, Nyx Halliwell, Izzy Wilder, FM Storm: these all really stood out for me. Love, and

Eleven short stories with a Hallowe'en theme, most involving witches or psychics, with a black cat somewhere in the story. They each belong to a different series, and tell you where in the series they fall chronologically - a good way to find a new series to read. A fair amount of proofreading errors, as usual in an e-book, and rather annoying. I almost gave it 4 stars, but rounded 3.5 down to three. They were all entertaining, but none of them were quite good enough to convince me to buy more b ...more

Here, these wonderful bunch of cats congregate to sweep you into known, and in some cases unknown authors. Read all the way through or nibble at this Halloween trick or treat bag of smiles. Highly recommended 5/5

Black Cat Crossing consists of stories about black cats and mystery. Eleven authors come together to bring that old wise tale that black cats are bad luck to a screeching halt! Each story has a black cat in it and each has a mystery to solve, whether a murder, werewolves or just the normal witchcraft these stories will keep you reading until the end of each and want to not stop until they are all read.

Black Cat Crossing - Molly Fitz

This was a fun story in the boxed set.  Angie Russo and her Grandma Nan were hosting a large, charity event to earn money for the shelter and to help get some of the black cats adopted.  Unfortunately wherever Angie goes murder seems to follow and this book did not disappoint me.  It was an interesting tale that I enjoyed reading. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Perfect timing for a great variety of cozy mysteries all with unique paranormal elements. I like that they are standalone and either addition to a series I'm already engrossed with or new to me and enticing enough to interest me in reading more. Great for the thrill of a mystery without the horror element. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. ...more

They are a sweet and perfect way to spend a night. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I would recommend this book to everyone.
