In the weeks since an EMP attack left their world in chaos, Raine Caldwell and her group have escaped St. Louis only to find trouble at the farm in St. Francois County. With the cartel defeated and new alliances formed with the locals, they thought their problems were over. But the battle was only beginning.

Can our group of weary survivors find hope amid the chaos?

because I really don’t like the the ending. If I interpret the message correctly the writer is telling us that overall the citizens of Missouri are vicious evil, ignorant fools and Knob Lick folks are inbred crazy. But Florida residents civilized model citizens.

And they lived happily ever after.

This has been a decent series for the most part, though this one is grim and ultimately, disappointing in some parts. I kind of wonder if the author had some bad experience in Missouri, since the people of that state seems to be angry mobs in some places (like in book 1 and Knob Lick), ready to take everyone's stuff (JJ's home) or just plain sadistic and crazy. Somehow Florida is the destination for people who just want to live in peace and be able to stroll around with their family? We had a long journey with some of these people only to see their story end abruptly and very unpleasantly. The ending felt very rushed and unsatisfying.

After the events in Seeking Justice it seemed our group of survivors had at last found somewhere they could begin to build a future. They’ve survived the lights going out, they’ve survived frozen conditions and they’ve survived an attack by crazed cartel members, surely they’re safe now they’ve found a farm in a small town, right? Fear and anger, however, endanger the lives of Raine Caldwell and her friends as the people of the small town begin to push them out. With violence only moments away our heroes are forced to run for their lives once more. The question is where can they go? JJ on the other hand is safely home with her family in a community looking to build together. That is until danger begins to threaten them from a source they thought they could trust. TL Payne takes these two story arcs on a few turns along the way keeping the tension high throughout. I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series and Seeking Hope is another excellent instalment.

Fabulous series

Three days for four books!
First book left me a little disappointed but the end I was hooked. My husband will be pleased tomorrow I'll make him breakfast and tell him all about the adventure I had over the last days. So glad to be retired and able to read whenever I choose.
Get the set of books curl up by the fire and be glad your not homeless in Missouri in the dead of winter. Happy when people join together and become friends seeking safety. Frightened when you realize what they face could happen. Enjoy your adventures with T.L. Payne, I look forward to the next one.

This series has been a fast pace action thrill ride. The characters had to face some of their most trying times. They were put though a wide range of emotions, pain, loss, and devastation, and happiness.
They had to learn to survive the brutal attacks and barbaric ways of the so called other survivors. Each book just kept getting better and better. The author did a good job wrapping it up the storyline.
Can’t wait until the next New series is released. Read this author and make sure you leave your reviews. Thank you using KU.

I kind of feel bad on behalf of the residents of Missouri. For the most part in this series, the state is full of the literal worst of humanity. Yet Florida is a shinning beacon of hope. As a FL resident, I would not encourage anyone to look for the best of humanity here lol.

Also, the ending was just so unfulfilling. After reading through the constant death and destruction and horrible people, we need more than a couple hugs to feel like the trials and death these people went through were at all worth it.

This was the last book in a series where young persons escape St Louis after an Electromagnetic Pulse and have adventures. The characters don't change--they flip back and forth, being wishy washy with a nonstop stream of one bad decision after another. Bad decisions and their consequences just seemed to never end--the book could have been one fourth it's size and been a good story. Not bad enough to stop in the middle but barely good enough to wonder how it will end. Don't think I'll do any more of this author.

Realistic & Frightening.

This story describes in chilling detail how ill prepared the US is for an EMP attack. Congress has had the chance to prepare, to protect us, but refuses to act. When an attack does occur as depicted in this story, the US rapidly falls into chaos. The strong prey on the weak, & millions die. This story follows a small band, trying to survive, & reach home across several states. Good read & accurate.

Anarchy in Missouri

This KU library selection is the conclusion of Gateway to Chaos, a post-apocalyptic series set in Missouri. Our band of survivors is growing smaller as the risks they have to take to continue to survive grow larger. They've won and they've lost, often too much to bear. But the remnant presses on, even when hope for a safe refuge is a fading mirage in the distance and Florida is a distant dream.

This series was impossible to put down. It kept me on the edge of my seat and so anxious all the way through. I feel like the ending was rushed which is why I gave it 4 stars. There was definitely a happy ending but also so much loss and devastation that you can’t really call it a happy ending. It definitely showcases human nature and the evil and depravity that lurks inside some people, which I believe would be true in these circumstances.

umm

Wow not the way I thought it would go and really sorry she killed off so many of the characters. Then the end just "poof" happens and everyone lives happily ever after. Did the author just get tired of the self doubting main character? one moment Raine is crying over spilled milk the next its utopia! like title umm?

One of the best

There are some great and not so great apocalyptic fiction. This is the second series I've read by TL both have been enjoyable reads that are somewhat realistic in that every main character doesn't awake in the apocalypse as the latest Rambo. Just real people doing their best to stay alive.

Exciting and suspense awaits the reader

This book in this series is much better than the others. There's action and suspense with a good story about good people toying to make a whole new life. Friends are met and friends are lost. It's well written and more realistic. This is a book of hope just like the title.

Just like the Days of Want Series, I am truly impressed with T.L. Payne's work! It's so captivating and real! If only a relationship had blossomed between Raine and Scott! ❤

Edge of your seat action

I loved this series but wondering if it is continuing. The end was kinda abrupt. Liked the characters for the most part and hope if everything does go to hell that people are better, kinder and not so awful and twisted.

A good post emp series

I like emp stories because they leave out the crazy zombies etc. There will be enough crazy in any lapse of society without the fantasy stuff.

Exciting

I loved the story but sometimes they sure weren't very smart. Of course their age could have something to do with poor decisions.
