Karma Before Konscious: Re-release

Rate this book
*Rerelease** Twin sisters, Karma and Konscious, are complete polar opposites. Karma, the wild child, has experienced her share of hardships and struggles in her short life time. Mentally, physically, and sexual abused at a young age, Karma deals with her distorted emotions by inflicting pain and seeking vengeance on others, including family. Even with the hurt and pain she inflicts, it still doesn’t fill the void of hurt until she lays eyes on Marcus Miller.Marcus Miller is the first black CEO of Viacom Incorporated. At the tender age of thirty-two, he moved up the ranks and secured his seat within the company. Even with wealth and power, Marcus feels empty and unsure in his marriage to his wife of ten years, Portia Miller. Marcus wants more than his dull wife could ever give him, which causes him to turn to Karma for more than just a one-time pleasurable encounter. Konscious Jones is the “Golden Child” of her parents. By doing everything by the book, Konscious sacrifices the one thing she loved out of fear. Following the death of their son Carter, Konscious breaks off her engagement and ends all communication with the love of her life Zaire…until now. Zaire Mackins is everything a woman would want—tall, dark, and handsome, and he’s got a super strong hold on Konscious. Sage Mackins recently came home from doing a bid that could’ve otherwise left his family dead or also in prison. When he leaves unexpectedly to go to prison behind a snitch, neither he or his brother will see what is to follow. These couples’ karma and ghosts follow them everywhere they go. When people with a conscience go against those with a heart of vengeance, who will survive in this sexy, undercover urban story?

This is the 1st book that I have read by this author... It was a neutral read for me... The storyline was catchy...The Prologue peeked my intrest... And it held my attention... However, it quickly just kind of plateaued to me... Then it became very repetitive and began over explaining scenes and what a person was doing... And things began to drag on... Also at times I felt a little confused like things were kind of all over the place... one area of repeating or confusion was when Roc said that he wouldn't do anything until Saga stopped sleeping with his wife... But Zaire and Saga keep saying oh I think he is doing this because he thinks that Saga is sleeping with his wife... I am like wait a minute he clearly said that to them... so why does it keep repeating this statement like they have not heard thia from Roc himself already... As the storyline started coming to and end... It started building up again and drew me back in... and now the cliffhanger...
What can I say about Karma... I feel bad for her and what she has had to deal with... I thought she was strong... She just seemed liked she was in control... Then this... Wow I did not expect this from her... I guess you never really know what a person is dealing with...
As for Konscious for some reason I don't care to much for her... I can't put my finger on it but I am just not feeling her... She is the twin to Karma but she acts like she does not know anything about her sister and what she went through... Even if Karma is making things up... It is still like Konscious does not even know her twin... I do have a feeling that her and Zaire will not last long... something is going to come between them... I just dont know what...
Then we have this ending that has me trying to figure out what is going on with Karma... I am a little confused... But I guess I need to read part 2 to get it all figured out..
