The Society #2

Hear No Evil

Rate this book
Evil cannot take hold of an unconsenting soul.
Do not be amazed that hell is empty, since all the devils live here.
One by one, they will meet their hellish fate.
One down…
Three to go.

Easton
A tyrannous society has discovered our most atrocious secret and decided to wage war on us.
They’ve had their fun with Finn, and now it’s my turn to be their little puppet.
Someone should have warned them that I don’t play well with others.
If they think I’m going to bend over and let them screw with my life sans lube, they are sorely mistaken.
I’m no man’s pawn.
At least that’s what I told myself right up to the day I received a little black envelope that mercilessly sealed my fate—they’ve gone after the one person I would sacrifice anything for.

My friends.
Myself.
Even her.

Scarlett
They call him the dark prince of Asheville, a silvered eyed rebel without just cause for his defiance.
But to me, Easton Price is so much more than the mischievous persona he openly flaunts.
He’s the beautiful nightmare I desperately try to resist with clenched teeth and scarred heart.
As the pastor’s niece, I’m considered the epitome of good, while he’s the embodiment of sin.
There’s just one thing wrong with that assumption—I’m not that good.
And Easton is going out of his way to prove it.

*The Society is an Enemies to Lovers, New Adult College Romance.

'HEAR NO EVIL' is the second full length romance book in Ivy Fox's 'The Society' series. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

In the same vein as (I know what you did last summer) black envelopes from a secret society mysteriously turn up for each boy, each one challenged to complete a task, if they fail something which could implicate one of their loved ones will be divulged. They are upping the anty, after they failed to destroy Finn, now they have Easton in their sights and they know he has two weaknesses, Scarlett and his Mum, and they aren't going to stop until they destroy one of them.

Oh how the plot thickens, this kept me on tender hooks as I tried to unravel the little breadcrumbs thrown down by the author which led us to an elite establishment which holds so many secrets.

The mousy badly dressed choir girl and the dark prince were perfect for each other, even though they were as different as chalk and cheese, they brought the best parts of the other out, also unraveling the darkest bits of themselves at the same time.

For as long as I have known her, Scarlett has constantly tried to walk amongst us without leaving any trace of her existence, invisible, undesirable and forgettable.

This series, the characters, the storyline pulled me in so effortlessly, each book just upping my anticipation levels that much more. I loved this book! It reminded me exactly why I’m obsessed with this authors words.

Drum roll..Next up is Colt...

Wow, that was SO SO good! I've been waiting for book 2 and this did not disappoint.

I loved Easton and Scarlett! Easton was broody and just a softy even though he didn't want anyone to know. Scarlett was broken and hurting. He healed her and helped her see that she was perfect in every way. They were perfect for each other.

The society tried to break them and through it all they were made whole, found love in each other. Easton's mission from The Society backfired by bringing Scarlett into his world not ruining it. Before he secretly saw her, now he was set on making her HIS.

Don't read unless you want to know a HUGE part of the story!

That epilogue though. Holy cliffhanger. Can't wait to see what happens in book 3 with Colt. He puts Easton's broodiness to SHAME! I wonder who will be his prey.

4.5 || Don't ask me about the secret society thing or the mystery because I have no idea what's going on here and my two braincells are too tired to connect the dots, but the romance? THE LOVE STORY? WHAT. A. FREAKING. SERVE.

"What Easton and I feel for each other cannot be severed by time or space. It’s a bond like no other. Forged in darkness, our love brought light into our dimmed and tainted world."

I knew this would be good since the moment Finn caught Easton drawing Scarlett and I wasn't wrong. They were both so different, yet the same. Two tortured souls who carried their demons in opposite ways; Easton was known as the Dark Prince and for a reason, while Scar just tried to hide from her fears. The romance here was intense too, but it was more developed and not as rushed as in the first installment, and I loved the idea of these two always gravitating towards each other for 13 FREAKING YEARS, always meant to be. And all the soft moments... you got me there.

I also liked how the story progressed a little more in terms of what happened that night and where it's leading, although I bet you I got it all wrong 😂. Another of my favorite things was the side characters; I already liked the group of friends and I enjoyed the little breadcrumbs, but Easton's parents??? they were lowkey serving too 👀. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because sometimes East's reactions to his father annoyed me a bit. He was rude when the man just wanted to see him happy and basically all I heard was "how could my mother marry a millionaire🤬??? how dare he get us out of poverty and want to form a family with us🤬🤬?? and he wants make me the sole heir to all his fortune 🤬🤬?? WHAT AN ASSHOLE 🤬🤬"

Oh and regarding the "tasks" that The Society gives them I was expecting something different this time 🤒 because as in the first installment, they both ran out of time and it was The Society who decided what to do and forced their hands, so I would like to see in the next books that they're indeed the ones who make the decision when they find themselves at a crossroads, no matter how painful it is idk man i love the angst

Now some thoughts that I don't wanna forget for the next books:

easton and scarlett serving loved you forever from afar.

their relationship was great, but i didn't care for the all the finn and stone or kennedy and lincoln/colt mentions. something about kennedy is VERY off, other than the fact that she's super irritating and inserts herself into the guys' business for no reason.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5

I read this book a LONG time ago so the details are a bit blurry now, but I will make this review the best I can.

This was Easton and Scarlet's story, the second book in this series, The Society.

I liked this book quite a bit, I didn't love it and I was quite flabbergasted (not in a very positive way in this case) with some things happening in this story.
While I likes a lot of things from this story, I disliked quite a few too.
And which better way to explain that LISTING them.
Things I disliked from this book:
○ To be honest, I really hated around the ending, when all the caos with The Society takes place, I just could not believe what happened. Easton throughout ALL the book was protective of his mother with all his being and at the end he just acts as if he doesn't matter his mother becoming the laughing stock of the town, that was a bit hard to believe to be completely honest.

○ Scarlet, I have a really hard time relating to her character, it's not easy for me to like her (although I also don't dislike her), she was just a walking contradiction herself, she didn’t even know what she wanted for herself half the time... she really frustrated me.

○ I wanted more background explanation from Scarlet past, also from Easton's past it seemed too little and a bit surfaced.

Things I really liked and enjoyed while reading this book, there are quite a few:

□ The friendship between the four, they have this dynamics between them that work and really suits them too. Like Finn and Licoln personalities are similar, while Colt and Easton's are similar too but they are closer the opposite way, Lincoln and Colt and Finn and East.

□ Easton's internal monologues about The Society, Emma, Finn, Colt (this one the most) where sometimes too funny, he was too sassy.

□ Their roundabouts trying to get information on The Society, thinking of recruiting Emma, trying to exclude Stone from their plans, the investigation and extortion part of the book was really interesting and exciting, my favourite part really.

□ The Halloween party was great because there were a lot of clues there that you could really pick up and link together, really exciting this part also I enjoyed how Colt played everyone to his likes.

□ The first meeting of Scarlet and Easton was quite unexpected, in the church with a quite heavily traumatised Scarlet, I liked reading this first meeting and how unruly Easton seemed to be even at a younger age.

The book is a bit fast paced being four books in a mystery series with each book being told from a different POV.
The romance was not for me in this book, I didn’t liked, I also didn't disliked, just so-so, maybe it's because I didn't enjoyed Scarlet...
In overall, I DID LIKE the book, I had a good time and I was really frustrated when it ended because I wanted more of The Society.

I highly recommend this book, it was quite enjoyable and entertaining!!
Happy reading!! ❤ 🖤

"There's no better way to taint an angel than send the devil her way."

Ivy Fox had managed to crawl into my mind for good with this suspenful series and even though she throws on our way just small crumps of answers, while she is giving us a ton of more questions, I'm still craving her words...
Who the hell is behind Society??? And is it really an elicitic group of mad people, or a hurtful creature that is after our four golden boys in order to ruin their "perfect" lives???
The only sure thing is that he, she or they is/ are teaching to our boys a great lesson about love, friendship and family!!!!

"They're nothing but fools walking around like kings in waiting, ready to take their thrones. Oh, but there will be no gold or diamonds in their future. Only roads covered in mud and filth. Punitive grime and castigating stench are all that awaits them. I'll make sure of it.
Finn got his.
Now it's Easton's turn..."

After Finn's "destruction", now has come Easton's turn to receive the black envelopes that are setting up to ruin his life, in order to hide a big secret that he is sharing with the rest of the guys...
But the requests of the Society are getting crazier and crazier with each envelope and the ultimate dilemma is about to destroy someone's life really close to him.
The Society had found not only one soft spot of him, but two and their next target, HIS target, is the only girl that ever made him feel something. The only girl that meant something to him... The one girl that he had to stay away from...

"Now they want me to go after the one girl I've tried to stay away from. Scar has always been a weakness I've tried to abolish. No matter how much distance I've put between us, there was always something that lured me to her..."

Scarlet is a quiet girl who likes to be invisible to the rest of the world and she is doing it so good for so long... But Easton Price was always the thorn on her side... The one that could see her, even though she didn't want to... The only one who could see her for who she really was...
Scarlet is a good, pale, choir girl who sings like an Angel. Or isn't she???

"He might be called the Dark Prince of Asheville, but I'm no helpless princess waiting to be saved, especially when the only danger in this room is him."

Easton and Scarlett are having history in a weird way...
They were always drawn toward each other, but they were fighting it really hard to stay away from the other...
But now, they are being forced together and the flame that was always sparkling between them can burn them really badly.
What will happen after all???

"I should keep her away from me at all costs. If I didn't, she might crawl inside my black heart, strip me bare, and make me feel thing that I don't want to- that I don't deserve to."

"Easton is a danger I can't outrun. He brings back the familiar feelings of helplessness and impotence that I've tried so hard to overcome. He's the ruin that awaits me."

Well, things are really complicated in here and of course, I'm having a million theories of what is really happening, but if i want to be honest with you, I'm not really sure that my assumptions are legit, since it's Ivy Fox that we're talking about and this woman can change everything in a blink of an eye and i loved her for that!!!
She is making me craving more of these characters and their adventures...
I just need more... of everything!!!

"Everyone is out to hurt someone. The world is full of predators looking to find the perfect prey. I just have to be smarter than they are and avoid being caught."

Easton and Scarlet from the outside were like day and night, but they were so perfect together...
The Dark Prince and the Choir Girl were fitting so perfectly that it was impossible to see them apart...
But Society has plans for them, and honestly, i don't really know what the Society wants after all!!!
And not only for Easton and why they had put Scarlet on his path, but with Colt and Lincoln, as well...
I'm anticipating their books so badly!!! I can't stop thinking about them!!!

"Did I get us into this mess, or did you, Scar?
Who can I blame when all this is over?
Me, for breaking your heart, or you, for breaking mine?"

Colt, baby, come to mama!!!
You are not my most favorite person on the planet, but I believe that you will manage to crawl into my heart the same as the rest of the boys!!!
Oh!!! I just forgot to mention a person that i really fell in love with in here!!! Easton's stepdad, Richard or "Dick" as Easton was calling him in here... He sounded as a real asshole, but he became a soft spot for me!!!
Ivy, hurry up!!! I just need... MORE!!! ;-)

"The Society said that, for me to gain absolution for my sins against them, I had to corrupt the most virtuous of souls.
They said my redemption would start with Scarlett.
The thing is -it will end with her, too."

FIVE SCAR STARS for Scarlett and Easton 💛🖤💛🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

WOW!!!

This book was really great!

Unlike the previous book "See No Evil", the first book from "The Society" series, this book kept my attention from the very beginning.

I immersed myself so much in the story that I couldn’t drop the book from my hands to the very end.

Ivy completely surprised me with this book because she reached a new level in her writing and that is why I am extremely looking forward to the next book from this series.

"Hear No Evil" is a college suspense romance with a secret society and enemies to lovers tropes.

Scarlett is a shy female character who spends her whole life trying to be invisible to others in order to hide her past from them.

Until Easton appears who slowly reveals all of her deeply hidden secrets.

Easton is a male character I fell in love with already in the first book of the series and after reading this book he is still my favorite male character.

Scarlett and Easton are two broken souls who are simply doomed to each other because together they form one perfectly imperfect entirety.

If you're looking for a college suspense romance with a secret society trope and you also love Ivy's writing style, then this is a perfect book you!!!

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. I can't wait to read "Speak No Evil" 😍❤🔥!!!

THE WAY SCARLETT AND EASTON SERVED!!!!!

I’m lost and have so many questions and theories regarding the murder and the secret society plot, but I liked this book so much more than the first one. Everything was better developed in this book, whether it was the romance or the mystery plot and I enjoyed it a lot! Scarlett and Easton had crazy chemistry, their romance was so intense and angsty and I loved them so much together. I’m really excited for Colt’s book because he caught my attention from the beginning. Also I’m still rooting for LincolnKennedy even though she and her twin are shady af…

“Denial and lies are the only shields we still have to keep the perilous truth at bay.”

Ivy Fox does it again by effortlessly weaving the main couple and side characters in with the secretive and revengeful society. I was immersed in this world filled with deception and broken characters.

“She’s broken, and I’m jaded.”
Scarlet is the shy angel where Easton is the harsh devil. They have avoided each other since kids however now as seniors in college can no longer avoid this magnetic chemistry they have.
While navigating their emotions and secrets
Easton and his friends are dealing with The Society or face hurtful consequences to his family.

I love how complex without being confusing this series is and how every character and mystery is purposeful.
I was intrigued by the plot, on edge with the suspense and emotional over the characters.

Can’t wait for the next book where we will learn more about Colt and more secrets unveiled.

OHH MYY GOD!!
I need a serious breather after this book! My heart is pounding so hard and I just can't get my mind off those amazing characters! This series is officially my new addiction and I can't wait for more of this series!!

Easton has always been my favourite. Well it is Colt , but Easton also comes near , lol 😂. From the moment I got a glimpse of his tory in the first book of this series , I was all over this book! And what a marvelous tale it was. The author couldn't have found a better match for Easton and Scar is the perfect person to handle his personality!

Web-Photo-Editor Did I get us into this mess, or did you, Scar? Who can I blame when all of this is over? Me, for breaking your heart, or you, for breaking mine?”

The SOCIETY is now getting restless. After their failed attempt to destroy Finn, their new target is Easton. They know his strengths and his weaknesses. Which is why they chose Scarlett as his victim. Easton has always been the Player in their group. The one who appears charming but is the deadliest. The only weakness he has is a petite nerd with glasses. He has always watched her from far , never going too near her. But then one day she gives him a lip and he can't help but tease his little mouse. From that day she became his target. That is until the society forces him to up his game. Now he has to destroy the only girl who caught his eye. And a part of him might even enjoy it.

Web-Photo-Editor Misery loves company, and I yearned for hers.”

Scarlett has always known how to blend into the shadows. She is the girl whom you will never notice at first and by the time you do , she is already gone. So she was shocked when she caught Easton's eye. She might have given him lip , but his ruthless reply seemed to unnerve her a lot. He scares her , but a part of her yearns for his attention. She knows he has an ulterior motive for pursuing her , but a part of her doesn't care. She might be willing to be burned by the dark prince.

Web-Photo-Editor Always with the lies. Good girls like you should know better than to lie to the devil. Bad things happen to those who forget.”

The first book of this series was ok-ish for me. But this one really caught my eye. I absolutely loved it and would like to personally curse the author for giving me a glimpse of the next book. Colt is my absolute favorite and intrigued me to no end. His story is going to be my top read and I really can't wait!!! This series is my must one click recommendation to all the High school bully Romance lovers! The suspense element of this series is off the chart hot and you will enjoy every freaking word!!

“We are worlds apart, Scarlett and I. I don’t belong in hers, and she definitely wouldn’t be comfortable in mine.”

Ivy Fox did it again! Ti's great as the first book (can't choose sorry!) Easton and Scarlett's romance did not disappoint me, and to be fair I've been dying for this book ever since. Ivy is such an exceptional author, creating a mysterious & building a suspenseful world like this doesn't come easy, preserving the fervor without overshadowing the romance, leaving breadcrumbs along the way, when you think that you might know or at least have an idea who's behind The Society new hints will arise then nada!

But one thing for sure its a WOMAN, based on the epilogue right, right??? and it seems that Colton has forbidden feelings toward Ken?? How 'bout Lincoln??? So many questions but no answers yet. In all honesty, I dunno if how Colton's story will take off, in Easton's book you can sense that his love interest will Scar after their diminutive banter scene in book one, yet Colton, it's clear that he's seemingly in love with Kennedy? But she's in love with Lincoln right?? I guess I'll just have to wait for FEAR NO EVIL then.

Anyway, I engulfed this book, once I start reading I can't put it down. It clutches my mental focus, with multifaceted characters and a cohesive plot.

“Easton’s angel-like features may look handcrafted by God himself, but I’m not stupid enough to believe he’s here looking for salvation.”

PS: I'm so happy I read Chase and Ava's short novella from the Halloween Anthology because it comes all together in here where the gun comes from.

extremely recommend this book!!!

“He is sinful danger personified. And like a moth to a flame, I’m drawn to its allurement.”

Oh my, I love a good mystery to sink my teeth into and this series has me absolutely hooked!

In my review of the last book See No Evil, I summarised my theories on who was behind The Society. After reading this book, my theory has changed! So, if you don’t want to read my suspicions and thoughts, stop reading now!

So, initially in the last book I was highly suspicious of Kennedy and suspected her to be the ‘bad guy’ so to speak (but did also consider her brother). And for most of this book I thought it had to be Kennedy, until things started to point to her a little too much...

Firstly, throughout this book there are mentions of her being feisty and bad ass and ‘unintentionally’ hurting people like breaking Colt’s arm. East’s mum also says she has too much hidden aggression and even Scarlett hints at not trusting her. I mean she even wears a Kill Bill costume for Halloween (if that isn’t a hint then I don’t know what is?!), and it was her idea to have the Halloween party. But it just feels like too much evidence is being pushed her way. Maybe actually, all of this is referring to her having a secret, her own vendetta or mission so to speak... maybe she knows what is happening and is trying to protect her friends, to take down The Society or the people behind it? I’m just uncertain of her at this point, but after reading the epilogue, and the way it almost confirms it’s Kennedy had me second guessing. It’s just way too obvious surely? But then it clicked, and my other suspect made much more sense.

I’m sure that in the first book Tommy (Kennedy’s fiancé) is described as being gay and cheating on Ken, presumably with men. Stone recognises Kennedy’s face in a deja vu scene not just in the first book, but also in a photo in Lincoln’s house. She refers to the photo as thinking of seeing Kennedy in the past somewhere with Tommy. But what if it isn’t Kennedy, but actually her twin brother Jefferson that she’s seen? Is Tommy cheating on Kennedy with none other than Kennedy’s brother, Jeff?

Easton also thinks he sees Kennedy in the Brass Guild but realises he’s followed Jeff, so obviously they really do resemble each other and are easily mistaken for each other.

There is a scene where Lincoln’s mum gets in a blue car which we assume is Tommy’s, but it could easily be Jeff driving it if he is having an affair with Tommy. But it could also be Kennedy.

It’s also noted that Kennedy is territorial and it doesn’t make sense as to why she stays with a cheating Tommy, unless she has her own motives... to protect her friends from the inside? Maybe she knows what is going on. Or maybe Kennedy is working with her brother to take the boys down... but that just seems unlikely to me. The Kill Bill outfit which initially I thought was a clue as to her wanting to take down the four ‘assassins’, could actually be referencing to her taking down her brother/Tommy. Maybe Teddy (Kennedy’s former fiancé) was killed by Jeff and she knows this.

Jeff is friends with the four boys, but unlike Kennedy, tends to stay in the background throughout both books which is suspicious to me. As though the author doesn’t want to make Jeff the obvious choice that you think of.

All I will say, is try reading the epilogue and imaging it’s Tommy and Jeff having the conversation at the end, and maybe then you’ll see where I’m going with this. It’s possible Colt gives them the glare because he suspects them of having an affair and obviously he has a thing for a Kennedy.

I think Stone and Scarlett may have been picked because they have evidence e.g. seeing the culprit in the past (Stone’s deja vu scene and Scarlett witnessing Lincoln’s mum getting into a blue car) and that’s why they are targeted. Or maybe it’s just because they are seen as poor trash who are unworthy to be part of the Asheville elite? Either way, I don’t think they’re random, they have been picked for a reason.

There are so many loose ends, and this series could literally go in so many directions. I’m so excited to see where the next book leads!

So, I thought I was done with the theories, but nope! They just keep coming... But my next one is perhaps a little too crazy! 😂

I’ve never seen Kill Bill but the reference to Kennedy wearing the costume for Halloween had me googling it. If you haven’t seen it, the female lead is shot by assassins whilst pregnant. She survives and makes it her mission to take down those who tried to kill her (from the jist I read online). Now in this book, it references there to being three deaths on that fateful night, a “little one”. What if Lincoln’s mum was pregnant with someone else’s child and upon finding out, Lincoln’s father shot her? Maybe she was raped by Tommy’s father or maybe even by Kennedy’s? And Kennedy, being in love with Lincoln, has made it her personal vendetta to take down who she considers to have caused Lincoln’s heart ache... her brother/Tommy’s family who could be working together. It may seem a completely wild theory, but the “little one” must surely be referencing a child.

God bless Easton's tongue and I wish Kennedy Ryland make me cry too.
4.5/5
Thank you, Ivy Fox for not let me down.
After See No Evil I was sooo excited about Easton and was scared of not like this book as much because of all my expectations. But no, I enjoyed everything.
This book felt less rushed, has more mystery (and gives us a better picture of what happened that night), and has such a good couple, not only in the romantic aspect but they complemented so good throughout the book. Both with monsters from the past. Both trying to be away but dancing around each other.
Scarlett surprised me under that facade of good girl and Easton? *faints* Easton I was expecting and more.
He was described as the Dark Prince of the group but I wasn't ready for his soft side too, especially with the women of his life.
I know I didn't like Stone and Finn so much in See no evil, but their breadcrumbs were super cute.
Now...
The Halloween party: I know there were hints of Colt and (her) before but...god, I feel so bad for him.
The teacher: I feel like she's going to be love interest and I don't know how to feel about it.
THE EPILOGUE: what the hell??? but...mysterious person is a friend of them and was at the club. The list of suspects is going short and she's still there.
Super excited about Lincoln's book and kinda scared of Colt cause he seems the kind of character that I can love at 100% or really hate.

‘Scarlett is my forbidden fruit. And I'm the sin she can't commit.’

I’m going to start first by saying that I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first book in the series, See No Evil. I think that partially has to do with the fact that the characters have all been introduced and I knew the premise going in. I also LOVE the backstory of this series so I was intrigued to learn more.

I enjoyed Easton and Scarlett’s interaction in SNE too so I was so ready to watch their relationship unfold in this book. Ivy did not disappoint in that respect!
Both of them have their secrets and they walk around with their guards up; which is something I find so relatable. The two of them aren’t always completely honest either and I can understand that too.

Right, a couple of things I didn’t enjoy - A. I don’t truly believe that the Society is as bad as I’m being told it is? And B. I just find Easton’s actions towards his Mum and stuff unusual. I can’t say much without giving anything away, but I don’t know, it just felt slightly disconnected between what he was saying and what was actually happening… Like he’d decided it was one way and couldn’t actually see the world the way the reader could? I’m probably making no sense. But yeah.

Anyway, other than that, I did enjoy this book. Once again, I am super ready to find out more about just what happened on that night and I can’t wait to read Colt and Lincoln’s stories.

I have my theories about the ending, theories that I’ve had since the very beginning, so I’m hoping eventually I’ll be proved right.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"They said my redemption would start with Scarlett. The thing is - it will end with her too."

WOW- I devoured this next installment in the Society series by Ivy Fox. After the first book in the series, I was anxiously anticipating some answers but I feel like I have so many more questions. Easton and Scarlett absolutely captivated me with their romance. I feel like we only got glimpses of Easton in the first book, but in this one - he was definitely a dark and charming prince that swept Scarlett off her feet. He was just so swoony and irresistible in his pursuit. And Scarlett- she was such a revelations as she was the calm to Easton's chaos. I loved how she had so many complex layers to her personality and she definitely shone as the story progressed. I love that she challenged Easton so much. These two together were just magic together- I loved their banter and the development of their relationship. And their chemistry was just FIRE!! It was obvious that these two were fated to be together and I was LIVING for every moment! And then we had the mystery with the Society. I feel like every time I think I may have it slightly figured out, Ivy throws another curve my way. I'm more confused than ever after this book but I think that's part of the fun! I just love this combination of romance and intrigue! Cannot recommend this book (and series) enough!!

“Always with the lies. Good girls like you should know better than to lie to the devil. Bad things happen to those who forget.”

OH MY LORDDDDDDDD.
I knew Easton was going to be one of my favorites. He has this darkness and mysterious aura that sucks you right in. Scar and Easton really hit the mark!

The society is at it again, Easton got his letter and Scar was his victim. They have a past, will they become close and will this make Eastons task impossible?

The emotions that I felt throughout this book was happy to sad to angry, ect.
Easton went through so much and so did Scar. They have wounds that they were able to heal together and it was beautiful to watch.

Their sex was hot, their story was amazing.

This book was ok, and I wanted to love it, but there's something that just doesn't work for me with these books. I think it's the 'secret society' aspect.

First I liked Easton and Scarlett. These two carry some baggage that they have to work through. I'm not sure I bought all of Easton's though. I get it, his mom went through some stuff in her teens. But to find out that really he's using that as a way to say he's the devil and a bad person...it was laughable to me. So over the top and just didn't work for me. Especially after we get to the conversation with this step-dad towards the end. It's hard to believe. Don't get me wrong, I loved that they cleared the air, but it was too perfect.

Then you add the secret society in and I'm confused. These books are written as though it's only 1 person that's doing this. But then you have comments from someone towards the end of the book that says if the society has them in their sights it's not good. I'm not buying it. Not to mention, Finn and Easton hardly had anything "bad" happen to them. They experienced a little shame, but seriously, the world wasn't rid of all this evil and sin, lol.

And maybe that's my problem. This series wants to be dark and while some aspects it might be in others its so far from it. As always, I'll keep reading, because hopefully the next book is better and I'm invested now so I need to see how this all plays out.

four point five outta five

im only on the second book and i already can tell this will be one of my favourite series. im honestly kinda pissed how underrated this series is. EASTON IS FR BAE. the love east had for his mum was such a turn on. exhibit a:
"if i get wind that some socialite called my mother a whore, then i go out of my way to turn her precious little daughter into one."

however my heart still beats for finn walker. why were scarlett's fits like actually so hot. finally we have outfits that aren't cringy af. THE PLOT TWISTS IN THIS BOOK HAD ME THROWING MY PHONE ACROSS THE ROOM. this book was a great use of the "it always been you" trope.

"there’s no better way to taint an angel than send the devil her way."
"you come for mine, and i do everything in my power to destroy you."
"misery loves company, and i yearned for hers."
"to me scarlett is an open book, i’m the infuriating puzzle she just can’t seem to solve."
"she’s broken, and i’m jaded. nothing good could ever come from mixing the two together."
"scarlett is my forbidden fruit. and i’m the sin she can’t commit."
"his demons would run circles around mine."
"he could either tug at my heart strings or break them, and i would still let him do his worst."
"he is sinful danger personified. and like a moth to a flame, im drawn to its allurement."
"without touching me, he managed to slip inside of me and create mayhem."
"my redemption would start with scarlett."
"the sweetest sin. and im just the devil meant to swallow it whole."
"you make me want to sin every day"
"you fucking haunt me, scar. i can’t get enough of you."
"but a man like me doesn’t deserve love, only torment."
"he just stomped on my heart when i can’t remember when i had given it to him in the first place."
"tell me you want my pain as i yearn for yours."
"give me your pain, and i’ll give you mine."
"scarlett wants to see the good in me, even when there isn’t any to find."
"falling in love with easton price is the worst mistake ill ever make, my lips don’t care. my body doesn’t care, and neither does my heart."
"nothing good can come from loving me."
"this, Scar… this is my church. being inside you is as close as u will ever get to god."
"till my last breath, i will always love you, scar"
"ill live a hundred lives before i could ever forget you."
"there are monsters in the world, east. but as long as we face them together, there isn’t anything we can’t overcome"
"since the first day i saw you, i have loved you, and only you."
"i love you, scar. with all of my black heart, i love you."
"let the fucking world hear who owns your body and soul."
"god’s not here, baby. only me—the devil that loves you more than life itself."
"that’s the thing when you play with fire. sometimes getting burned is the closest you’ll ever feel to being alive. easton’s love is no different—it consumes you from within until the only thing you can do is crave its flame."

Oh god. I can’t even .. these books are turning out to be my new obsession. The angst in these books is so much my kindle has been living in borrowed time every time I read one. One minute I want to smash it against the wall, the next I’m cuddling it like it’s my only lifeline.

This friendship group, has me hook, line and sinker. So far we have..
Finn Walker - The sensitive one.
Easton Price- The broken bad boy.
Then we have the girls so far..
Stone Bennett - The sassy string one.
Scarlett Davis - The broken sweet one.
They’re all characters that are endearing, have flaws and have a full story you can get absolutely hooked on.

BUT that’s not all, because while these lives stories play out, there’s a murder/blackmail plot that has you hanging from a cliff edge every damn book. The best thing about these books is how Ivy Fox manages to suck you right into the love story, that when it’s so deeply embedded in you, she reminds you why it’s all going to go wrong and your ready to scream in anger!!

Easton & Scarlett were the perfect couple. The push and pull, the burning tension. I felt it in the first book when Easton causes a scene with, who we now know as Scarlett.
I love the way Easton loves Scarlett. With no frills and bows. He is who he is and so is she and they come bearing their scars and dirty secrets. It’s so raw. And that bit, where Easton makes that decision, sobbed like a baby. Yup, yup I did.

Also Easton’s relationship with Dick was great. The journey they went through, through the book was brilliant.

I also have to say the epilogue. I like the way the epilogue character doesn’t see how what they’re doing is actually helping each character be a better person and find love. It’s ironic, in the best way possible.

If you’re reading this review I’m going to go out in a limb and say you’ve read book 1… BUT IF YOU HAVEN’T, PLEASE DON’T READ ANY FURTHER. SPOILERS AHEAD!!

You have been warned…

So I have theories. Lots of them. And my heads all over the place and I can’t think straight and it’s driving me nuts and I’m rambling.

WHO IS IT??

My thoughts so far..

Tommy?? - Maybe. But too obvious in my opinion.

Jefferson?? - If so, what’s his motive?? I don’t see one.

Teddy?? - Quite possibly, especially with what we learn in this book. The person at the Halloween party. The secret corridors. Did he fake his death?

Kennedy?? - I know it’s a stretch but there’s something about her I don’t quite trust. She loves Lincoln, but is marrying Tommyboy, the asshole, and has something happened with Colt??

The possibilities are endless!!!

5/5 stars!!!
The plot of this series?? Idk her and i don’t care about her. All I could focus on was the INSANE romance between Scarlett and Easton. Their chemistry and love for one another seeped off the damn pages. I was not expecting this book to have my heart aching for them to be together so bad. I was having Fanny flutters like crazy every time Easton spoke to Scar. Anytime he said “baby” it had me giggling and kicking my damn feet as if this man created the word. And Scarlett being the absolute BADDIE she is when preforming (iykyk)?!? Had me turning scarlett red if you catch me drift (I’m so sorry for the bad joke I had to).

The conflict resolution in this book was PERFECT and literally had me crying, I love my babies so much. Also Easton’s stepdad and mom?! I was absolutely obsessed w them towards the end. This book really just gave me everything I ever wanted and really blew my expectations out of the park. I had a feeling the moment I was introduced to Easton in the first book that his story would be my favorite, and I was right.

I also want to mention that I love how the author makes these men down BADDDD from the jump. It’s so refreshing to see and seeing them not wanting to admit it but doing so with their actions is iconic. The way both characters talk about one another literally brings tears to my eyes it’s so precious. It’s so evident how much they love one another and even though some of the lines can be deemed a little corny because it’s almost poetic like, I ATE THAT SHIT UPPP. The way she writes it is perfect for me and did not bother me one bit. It literally had me crying at times (I’m also really emotional).

And with that all I have to say is GO READ THIS BOOK IT IS SO GOOD!

Hear no evil is the second in The Society series and while from a character perspective can be read as a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading this as a series, as the plot line will continue throughout them and both books so far have been amazing!

.

This time the Society have set their sights on Easton and his target Scarlett. I enjoyed reading about some of the times when these two were younger and how they have danced around each other since their first (not so great) meeting. In many ways they are the same with it being clear from the outset that both of these characters have some internal battles and hurt to overcome. Yet, they also are completely the opposite in how they chose to outwardly guard themselves because of it. Their feelings, bond and chemistry felt inevitable to me even as they both tried to fight it, and I think this would have happened regardless of Society interference albeit at a different pace. I mean the steam from these two - phew! 🔥🥵

.

This book definitely had a darker feel than the first (but still with some banter), and the intricate web of the connections in this world becomes apparent and a few revelations are thrown into the mix which I think will come into play later in the series.

.

As with book one the prologue and epilogue are from an undisclosed POV, I had a couple of guesses before and this has solidified one of those for me 🧐. Only time will tell if I'm right though!

.

A must-read series for me 😉

I have no words to describe how I feel right now.
This book destroyed me.
I honestly, wow I just want to scream and then put the four boys and their girls in a box and protect them.
I love, I ADORE the writing style of the autor, it is so good! The story is perfect and I love that we don’t know anything about the society, like I’m going crazy with all the theories I have!!
In the first book I fell in love with the four boys and their girls but in this one! In this one I don’t trust no one! And by no one I mean our golden boy, Lincoln, and no I won’t elaborate on that because I don’t want to spoil y’all.

Easton is a baby, he looks and acts like this big bad boy but deep down he’s just a broken boy who needs so much love and affection, like he hates himself so much but he shouldn’t, he’s a baby!!!
Love his dynamic with dick, at first I thought dick hated him but truth is everything was in Easton’s head and his self destructive habit.

Now Scarlett, I feel like she has more secrets than the ones we read about in this book, she’s very mysterious and I feel like she’s gonna play an important part in the lives of the boys, so can’t wait to read the next book!

4.5 STARS REVIEW

New Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance, Enemies-to-Lovers, Mystery, Sports, Suspense

First Person, Dual-POV

This is book #2 of The Society series and it cannot be read as a standalone, as the story ends with lots of unanswered questions.

Contains issues and situations some may find triggering.

Wow!!! This series is only getting better!

Can't I just say how amazing Ms. Fox writing is... Is unbelievable!

This series is a mixture of I Know What You Did Last Summer and Pretty Little Liars. The suspense of this book was high, the mysteries just kept getting crazier, at the same time, the author gave a few hints here and there to keep me on the edge of my seat until the end.

Oh.... now I have to wait, I don't even know how long, so I can read Colt's book. I mean, Colt... which will be amazing and totally rock my boat!

Intense love story!!!

32.5/35 STARS –  4.5 STARS (between 31.5 stars and 33 stars)

Addictiveness: 5 Character: 5 Cover: 4.5 Freshness: 4 Plot: 4.5 Romance: 4.5 Writing Style: 4.5

Action 3/5 Angst 4/5 Darkness 4/5 Humor 0/5 Romance 5/5 Suspense/Mystery 5/5

Would I recommend? Yes, for all readers of dark, twisted romance!

Would I re-read this book/series? Yes!

Would I read more from the author? Definitely!!!

Addictiveness: 5/5 I've been hooked from the first book and from the first page of this second book I could feel the suspenseful tension of the series. So many mysteries have kept me guessing until the last page. As addictive as chocolate!!!

Character: hero 5/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Multifaceted characters with superb background stories and continued personal growth during the story. They were in constant evolution which made them believable.

Scarlett was an amazing heroine. She was the complete opposite of Easton. She was the timid, choir girl that didn't dress very well. She had secrets and she has always stayed in the shadows. That was her mask to the world. She looked like the sweet girl, but inside she had a volcano. She knew that, and she tried most of her life to avoid Ethan, because if close to him, she could probably erupt. Together, their differences didn't really matter and their chemistry was unbelievable.

Ethan has gotten a piece of my heart. From the first book the way he protected Finn, I knew that behind all that spunk, that bad boy image, was a protector: Finn, his mom, Scarlett... He wore his bad boy mask well. He dressed himself as the devil, but deep down he had a good heart. He only needed an opposite to trust and let her light shine through his barriers.

Secondary characters I can't wait to read about all of this boys. They seemed all so interesting and with a lot to offer.

Villain/antagonists one clear villain, even though we don't really know who he/she is and an entire elite group as antagonists? I don't really know it yet, I'm still on the fence into believing The Society is all bad. I think we are still going to see a few twists.

They were all easy (maybe not easy) to love, connect and understand!!!

Cover: art 4.5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, subtitle 1/5, background 4/5 buy 4.5/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I always try to be true to myself, I buy so many books because of the cover and I have skipped many because of not very appealing art. Covers are part of the experience for me and I do like to understand them. This was a great one. I can totally see Ethan in this art. I still miss a few personal touches, maybe a subtitle to give us a hint of the story. (Oh, did we really needed the dirty nails? I know, I'm crazy, but every time I look at this cover, this is the first thing I see.) I would easily buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!

Freshness: 4/5 Yes, this book has all the right clichés of a new adult dark romance. But the way the author intertwined those clichés with a mystery and a few twists made everything feel fresh and original. In fact the suspense and mysteries just kept growing, but it was done with the perfect amount of intent. As fresh as iced tea!!!

Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 5/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 4/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 4/5, twists 4/5  Amazing opening with an incredible ending even though with a cliffhanger. Interesting plot, with well written dialogues and intense pace. Great setting, a few really good subplots with unexpected twists. High level of enjoyment!

O.M.G.! The suspense in this series is over the top. I can believe it. For a moment, I'm certain of who is behind it all, and then I don't know anything. So filled with twists and turns, that I had to read it in one sitting, because I couldn't let go.

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 5/5, development 4.5/5, steam 4/5  Yes! They were hot from the beginning. From their moment in class on the first book, I knew they would be explosive together. I mean, nothing like mousy clothes and a bad boy to highlight chemistry combustion. Yeah, my boy was hot! Panty-wetter, scorching hot!!! Written in the stars romance!!!

Writing Style: 5/5 Only my second book by the author by I'm already in awe at her writing style. Cohesive but intricate plot, easy-to-love characters, amazing love story and sexy hot smut! The writing of a wordsmith!!!

Because I try to be very analytical and I don't really believe in perfection...

Sometimes, I was a bit confused by Ethan's relationship with his mom. In fact, I think what confused me was more like that Ethan wasn't really preaching part of what he says. I don't know, hard for me to explain it. Just something there bother me.

I understand the need of cliffhangers, it doesn't mean that I have to like them. :)

You MAY read this because you follow the author; you SHOULD read this because you like dark romance; you MUST read this because the HERO was SCORCHING HOT!!!

“Always with the lies. Good girls like you should know better than to lie to the devil. Bad things happen to those who forget.”

Not lying when I say that I was a tad bit worried before starting with Hear No Evil since in my experience, books that follow an underwritten sub-plot in the entire series either tend to be repetitive or lose their shine after book one, but not this one. Atleast not yet.

Went in, also thinking that I'll definitely find out who the suspect was this time but I came out more confused.

I have two people in my mind but I'm not willing to bet on them. Also, from the suspense point of view, this is already some mind-blowing stuff but how the heck did I even enjoy the romance part of this?

“Don’t ever work for Hallmark, Easton. You suck at being romantic.”

Glad to know that we agree Scarlett.

Logically, now that I'm done reading this, I'm trying hard to remember if Easton and Scarlett even had a "together time" rather than just having sex. This whole book gave off Rina Kent vibes, and she's definitely among my favourites but after Stone & Finn, I was expecting more romance alongside the dark plotline from the author..

Hence the reason I went with four stars :/

This Book: 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Series Rating: 3⭐⭐⭐

✅ MF Romance
✅ He Falls First
✅ Secret Society

As of this book. Easton is my fucking fav.. He's all broody, sarcastic man on the outside with a gushy center. This was also my favorite book of the series. I think I read this fucker in about 9 hours. The author still dangle so much of the plot in my face and gave me so many more questions than answers. I really enjoyed getting to know each character in this book with appearances from the other characters AND while continuing the main plot of the story. The writing here is great!

The angst these two carry - bruh. I took a stab at guessing so much of the plot and I don't think I got one right. This book kept me guessing each and every time I thought I had it.

So - this book got four fucking stars from me because 1. Easton and the FMC's smut scenes were delicious. Not repetitive, and just mm mm good. 100% enjoyed these 😏😏. What I didn't expect from this book was fucking feels 😭😭😭 - this book got me THREE times with the feels. It was super fucking sweet and they really wrapped up this relationship nicely. I have certain tropes I can not fucking stand, and luckily this one touched on only one - but made up for it with the ending...

on to the next!

If I thought the first story was good then then book was EPIC. Easton and Scarlett jumped off the pages and I felt everything that they gave out. The angst, the passion, the fear, even the anger! I could picture everything Ivy described in detail! If this series keeps getting this good I may be done for by the time it’s complete.
