Sometimes being the friendly local bar owner isn’t enough… Months after Sheppard’s pack members wreaked havoc on my road house, and the alpha paid to have my best pool table recovered, he and I sat down and talked. I’d never seen him happier, and he gave all the credit to his new omega. When he left, I looked around my bar, a place I’d put all my energy for over a decade then I grabbed my tablet and downloaded the app that not only he but so many of them were chattering about. The app that apparently brought an omega right to the alpha’s doorstep. I’d had about enough of the cold bed and the colder meals at my house and had known for a while something was missing. So, I filled out the questionnaire that took over an hour to complete.
Two days later, they claimed they’d found someone for me, but I thought it was too good to be true. Second guessing myself, I deleted the app.
Ready to make a fresh start, I signed up with the Male-Order app. The app pinged me saying it found a match, almost 100 percent, but the guy never answered any of my messages. He was gorgeous and had his own business. And since I’m pretty damned good with a computer, I tracked him down. And now that I’m here, I don’t know what in the heck I was thinking. This Jagger guy is not my type. He’s rugged and bearded and all the things I’d always claimed I didn’t want.
So why is it my body and my animal practically demand I hop over that bar and formally introduce myself?
The Mistrustful Lion’s Omega is a super sweet with knotty heat MM mpreg featuring a mountain lion bar owner whose app match travels far to meet him despite his mistrust of the app and a building heat that leads to the birth of twins. It is the fourth book in the Male-Order Mates series but can be read as a standalone.
Lorelei M. Hart is the cowriting team of USA Today Bestselling Authors Kate Richards and Ever Coming. Friends for years, the duo decided to come together and write one of their favorite guilty pleasures: Mpreg.
Wow! Just wow! The author just upped her game again! These two guys are the best MCs of the series so far! And what a heartwarming awesome story this was! Love it!
It annoys me when a blurb spoils important plot points. It annoys me more when it spoils them wrong. So while I knew slightly too much about an already predictable book took some enjoyment out of it, having that knowledge be wrong just annoyed me.
After seeing all of his friends settled down and with mates Jagger decides to sign up for male-order-mate. Unbeknowest to him, he gets matched to Rex with a 98%. Rex stands Jagger multiple messages but they go unanswered; so he decides to track the man down to show his "mate" that they are a good match. Jagger is stunned to see Rex arrive at his bar while he is working. He didn't fully believe the capabilites of the male-order-mate and he is distrustful of the unknown bear shifter. However, Jagger cannot deny that his lion feels something for the man, so he decides to let him stay. But Rex does have some secrets and he keeps his laptop on him at all times - doing "secret government work" he states. What is Rex hiding? Will Jagger be able to trust this omega or did the male-order-mate program have their connection all wrong; do they really belong together?
I'm a big fan of Lorelei M. Hart but this novel wasn't one of my favorite. I like a lot of her other novels but I have had a difficult time enjoying the male-order-mate books; maybe it's something about how they match. Regardless of this aspect though I wasn't too moved by this novel. I found myself having to reread sentences or almost skipping here and there because I felt things dragged on and on. I also was very confused with Rex's job. I don't want to spoil anything, but it just seemed completely unrealistic and there really was no information to back anything up. So, for his job to later me the main conflict of this novel just seemed anticlimatic in a way and left me unmoved by Rex and Jagger "overcoming" this so-called obstacle in their relationship. Also, another main character issue I found was the concept of trust placed in this book. the title even focuses on it with "mistrustful." Jagger has a hard time letting people in and trusting but there is literally no, absolutely no reason why. We know he owns a bar and that he has seen both alpha and omegas cheat on each other but I don't believe this would cause someone to be so distrustful of everyone he begins a relationship with. I just felt this aspect of Jagger needed a lot more indepth analysis and understanding because I really didn't understand why he was the why he was. Overall, I just wasn't a fan of this book and I would recommend skipping this read for now.

Rex and Jagged took a minute, but once they figured themselves out, they were pretty awesome together I think. They are going to do great things tigether.
Even though I enjoyed this story, it got out of hand with all the overthinking. I thought the way Rex just popped in on Jagger was very ambitious on his part. The other thing was, that I thought that Rex was supposed to have twins.
The Mistrustful Mountain Lion’s Omega is the fourth book in the ‘Male-Order Mates’ series. It stars Jagger, a bar owner and Alpha, and Rex, an omega. The story is told in first person through both Jagger and Rex’s pov.

Jagger, an Alpha mountain lion shifter, was tending bar and chatting with one of the customers. A guy had come in and sat down at a table, working on his laptop. He had been there for hours and just kept typing. Zeke, one of the servers, noticed his boss was spilling things and not paying full attention; when he saw his eyes dart to the computer guy’s table, he smiled and teased his boss. Finally when things got slow, Jagger walked over to the guy who commented that it had taken him long enough! Jagger said he needed to buy a drink and not just take up space at a table, and he got snippy again. Upset that Jagger didn’t recognize him and had not answered any of his messages, he finally he told him his name was Rex and they had been a match on the app. Jagger had deleted the app and was surprised that this Omega bear shifter was here now.
Rex had wanted a relationship, a mate, a home. Was it a joke to this guy? At home in Florida, Rex had been working so many crazy hours and going out only for a run. Friends didn’t even invite him to things anymore. Sitting here in the bar, he continued working. People didn’t recognize him since he worked with people all over the world, largely on the dark web, and never met with clients in person or talked to them on the phone. Mysterious government work. So when Jagger had walked up, he was deep in thought, working, and startled when Jagger talked to him, kicking himself for not being more aware. At the end of the evening, Jagger asked where he was staying and he said he had hoped Jagger would give their relationship a chance. So he invited him home to his spare bedroom, even though his lion wanted much more.
Rex talked on and on about the cabin, how clean it was, how quiet everything was. Jagger thought it would get on his nerves but it didn’t. In fact, he kind of liked it. When the evening finally came and Jagger kissed him, it was unlike anything he had ever experienced. Rex realized that if Jagger sent him away tomorrow, he at least was now sure that he had met his mate. Jagger had already made loving anyone else impossible, and if Rex let this go any further...then what would he do if he lost him? So he pushed him away, stood up, and headed for the guest room. He had just rejected his mate! Were their relationship over before it had gotten a chance?
This was a good story where Jagger had doubts he would find his mate match. With the app finding a match in only two days, it couldn’t be real, so he deleted the app. He questioned whether Rex could being his, despite his lion telling him MATE every chance he got. He kept thinking Rex only wanted him because the app told him to! Why would he travel all this way to meet him? And Rex was so afraid of losing his alpha that he wouldn’t risk making that first move when Jagger was finally accepting him. So these two had some insecurities to get over. Would they finally begin to trust each other, and to trust their feelings for each other? Was their match really meant to be? Or would they let fear destroy what was starting to develop?
Jagger - alpha mountain lion and bar owner. Looked at all his friends happily mated and wondered what if? The flip side to that; witnessing the perils of cheating alphas and omegas at the very same bar. Taking a leap of faith, he created a profile on a Male-Order app. In a short period of time, received a ping for an omega match. Not believing the results, deleted the app from the phone and never answering the omega match. Little did he know, his life would change anyway.
Rex - bear omega shifter self employed. Curious as to why the alpha never responded to his match, decides to take a trip and meet him. Shows up at the bar, pulls out his laptop and begins working. One determined omega who need answers and to find his potential mate. A surprise was on the horizon for them both.
Jagger is overwhelmed and protective of Rex and does not even know who he is. Rex introduces himself, mentions the dating app and things sort of fell into place. Instead of sending him away, he offers the spare bedroom in his home. Both males are fighting their inevitable fated mating. Jagger is not sure if he is ready to take on an omega and Rex is afraid to tell his alpha what he really does for a living, and his true name.
Eventually the two give into their needs and Rex becomes pregnant. Jagger assures him he's in for the long haul. Rex is not one to be messed with. It was one job that made him decide to back out all together, come clean and focus on his family. Both lives have been changed for the better.
There were a few dangers with his pregnancy, but he had a wonderful mate by his side to see it through to the end.
This book just left me wondering what was going on there were some inconsistent things. Such as wording errors why were wolves mentioned there were know wolves. A term that was never explained i think it was called smashing. Twin births I never read about twins and Rex the Omega was one demintional at times. And Jagger who I liked was gun shy on relationships not because of personal experience but because of things he saw he owns a bar of course he sees the worst in people.
Rex has tracked his mate Jagger to his bar he spends the night observing him and waiting for him to approach so he can get to know him and find out why he didn't answer any of his emails. They talk and start to get to know each other one thing leads to another and soon you got it theres a baby but Rex has a past thats looking for him will it ruin his happiness.
Jagger doesn't believe when he's matched threw and app it has to be a joke hes seen one to many shifters hurt each other so he doesn't bother to respond just deletes the app then his mate shows up and he finds out he may have been to hasty and decides to give it a try with Rex. But when someone comes looking for Rex he knows he won't let him go he needs to trust what his Lion shifter already knows he and Rex are mates.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
when your animal knows what is best for you Jagger owns the bar that always seems to get wreaked when Sheppard lets his shifters have the night off but in fairness He always pays for the damages no questions asked. Jagger wanted a family he saw the Alpha happier than he had ever been, having his mate had changed him and in all the right ways and Jagger wanted some of that so he filled in a questionnaire on a male order app that would only pair you, if you had a very high probability that you were mates. Rex hunted down the guy who matched up to him on the questionnaire and then didnt contact him. But when he sees him he isn't sure. They are wary of each other and Rex is hiding a secret from Jagger. He doesn't want him to know what he does on his computer But when someone comes looking for Rex Jagger knows he must protect him. But when the truth comes out and they finally spend a night together everything changes. Can they be honest about their feelings for one another?? This is was a good read. I didnt fully connect with Rex but Jagger was easy to like. I really liked the plot and am excited to see whats in store next in this series.

Jagger spoke to a friend who was happy because of his omega who he met through an app so she spent time filling it in to find someone for himself. Two days later, they claimed they’d found someone for him, but he thought it was too good to be true. Second-guessing himself, he deleted the app. Ready to make a fresh start, Rex signed up with the Male-Order app. The app pinged him saying it found a match, almost 100 per cent, but the guy never answered any of his messages. This was a sweet story but Jagger's determination to resist Rex became a little tiring. I did also think that even when mated their communication was not good and not as respectful as it should be. Not as enjoyable a story as it should have been. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with MPREG.
To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
Two men so different other than being shifters, but somehow the Male Order App paired them as having 98% compatibility. How was that even possible? The Mountain Lion Bar Owner had deleted the App profile that had paired others in the pack that he was a honorary member of. Not in a million years did he expect a Bear Omega to show up out of the blue, saying they were made for for each other.I
One of them was crazy and it certainly wasn't the Mountain Lion. But the Omega was cute & he smelled good and he'd come so far - so reluctantly Jagger let him stay in his spare room. It would be kinda like a vacation - a place his Bear could run for a few days. When the cute Bear was a hit as a Bar Server the Mountain Lion got a but possessive - then backed away. What was a Bear to do? He came for his forever & got friendship.
This story actually has surprisingly more depth than I'd anticipated. There were serious Mpreg issues discussed. I ended up enjoying the story - just wish it was longer.
Surprise! Your mail- order match is here, and your lion is crying Mate, Mine.
I love this series! An app that finds you the perfect match. This is a wonderfully vibrant world filled with intriguing characters. This segment has a darker side, but right will win in the end. There is laughter, courage, possessiveness, love, and a baby. What's not to like! Rex is a hacker extraordinaire, doing the dark things the government doesn't want made public. When the app gives him a match, he travels across country to find his mate. When he scents him, his bear goes wild. Jagger can't believe it when this gorgeous man who smells so sweet shows up in his bar. His lion cries Mate, Mine. He invites Rex home, but can he trust him with his heart? After miscues and delays, Rex and Jagger finally take the plunge. They will find their HEA, find the family of pack, and find their own family. You will love this book! This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
The male order app stories are really sweet mate romances. This one with the ornery mountain lion bar owner and his fated mate who is a hacker/techno geek was entertaining. They really were opposites but they say opposites attract. Rex really did take a chance when he travel so far just because an app says him and Jagger were fated mates. Jagger was suspicious of course but the more he was around Rex he realized that this person is his and he will do all he can to keep Rex with him. Rex was really a sweet omega...kind of broken but Jagger is there to keep him together. Their pregnancy was a little dramatic which kept the story a page turner but everything worked out well at the end. It was nice seeing the other characters from the previous books to make an appearance. That's why I love reading these types of series. The family, the friends and the love...wonderful!

Nice story. Jagger was feeling envious of all the new mating couples and a bit lonely. He signed up for the dating app. He was immediately presented with a match. He picked up some of his baggage and let his brain take over and deleted his account. Rex, was given a mate, Jagger. He messaged him and was surprised there was no answer. He put his professional skills as a hacker to work and tracked Jagger down. He entered his bar found a booth and waited. They did a little long distance eyeballing before Jagger went to Rex's table. After getting a glimpse of Jagger in previous stories, I wanted a stronger story. Not a lot of time was spent on Jagger as a person.Interesting story, lots of dangling opportunities. Will Jagger open to Rex being his potential mate? How much patience does Rex have? Will the bar give approval to Rex? Nice story. Jagger was seeing everyone around him finding their mates, being the local bar owner. You were seeing people happy that he’s never seen happy before. Maybe that’s what he needed. So a lot of women he decided to fill out the information on the app to find an omega. but, second-guessing himself he deleted it. Rex found himself an alpha, exactly what he was looking for. Knowing the alpha deleted, it was no problem for him, considering he was excellent at computers. So he found him and decided he was the one. Jagger and Rex needed each other, only Rex came with some baggage that he wasn’t sure Jagger could understand. And he was just beginning to understand he did not want to be in the business he was in anymore. He thought he was doing a good thing when it started but now, he was destroying lives. He had to escape the business, and quickly. Rex was behind him all the way, and even excepted him after he found out what his computer business was. A truly happily ever after.
I enjoyed reading this delightful, slow-burn MM/Mpreg shifter romance that can be read as a standalone. The plot is interesting & written with no violence or physical conflict although there is some mild emotional turmoil. The characters are fairly well-developed individuals with realistic doubts & reservations. In particular, I absolutely enjoyed the way the chemistry & camaraderie gradually developed between the two main characters. There is: a alpha male mountain lion shifter & bar owner (Jagger) with doubts, a determined hard-working male omega bear shifter (Rex) with some very unusual secrets, various kinds of shifters, friendship, camaraderie, mates, drama, some intrigue, strange attractions, doubts, trust issues, loneliness, awkwardness, surprises, assignments, threats, blackmail, decisions, determination, love, some steam, contentment & a wonderful HEA.
If you are already familiar with the Mail-Order-Mates series then you understand the set-up. In the fourth book of the series, Sheppard, the owner of the bar wants to try the Mail Order app, but gets cold feet when he gets the message that a mate was found with a nearly 100% match. He is rather surprised, when a short time later he finds a man in his bar, who claims to be his mail-order mate. Jagger works for a secret government organisation as a computer whiz, and it was easy for him to find out who was behind the mail-order matching him. Like the other stories, it is a mix of suspense and romance set in the shifter world. I do not think this is the best book in the series, but it is entertaining and well-written. Another wonderful story in this must read series. And this time its Jaggers story, he fills in the app thinking that he will find someone. But before he gets his answer, he deletes the app. One night however when tending the bar, he notices a man sitting at the back on his computer, an Omega. There is something about this man so when he has a chance he goes up to the young man, and is shocked to find that hes his mate from the dating app that he got rid of. Rex is surprised to find this man dosnt know who he is, but there is a click between them both and he finds himself accepting Jaggers hospitally to ge to know him. A lion and a bear, what a wonderful mix.....a lovely one click which you will definately enjoy
This is book 4 of the series, but can be read as a stand alone. This is the first one that I have read of this series and it was an okay read. This was a fast read, so I may go back and read the other books in this series but I'm not sure. I've loved the Manny series and others from this author, so I'll probably try the others as well.
Written as a 1st person, multi pov with a HEA ending. Good story concept, nice characters, but didn't grow an attachment to them, nice dialogue, and well described detailes.
Would I recommend this book? yea
Would I read more from this author? Yes

So I am constantly surprised at my new-found love of shift romance stories. I want to say novels but sub-100 to sub-200 pages, depending on the title, I don't consider a novel or book. They are GREAT stories though and I'm very happy to have found them.
Simple, formulaic, romances w/ cute characters, a continuity of community, and celebrations of love. What's not to come back for? Each book in the series is like a new episode of your favorite tv show. I didn't read them in order and I don't feel like it harmed the stories at all, so grab whichever one comes to you first and plow through them.
Jagger has been a thought of mine since the last book when we meet him at his bar, he is almost as gruff as Sheppard. Almost. Rex is the go getter, or a runner?
While this was a really good story, characters fit well, the whole vibe was there from the previous books but this one left me hanging on more of the backstory for both of these characters.
Jagger and Rex are almost a grumpy/sunshine but not quite there. Jagger pushes and Rex retreats, but why??
There was a lot left unsaid for these two as far as why they are the way they are and also that quick abrupt twist then that's it. I know these are short books but just a tad more detail would be great for these characters that could have more of their backstory on the page to add to the story.
I'm disappointed that the blurb tells us this story between Jagger and Rex involves twins when it doesn't. Rex matches with Jagger on the Male Order App and Jagger deleted the app without ever reading the messages. As a hacker Rex takes it upon himself to track down Jagger and show up at his bar. Jagger has no idea who he is at first but does agree to let him stay in his guest room. They do end up getting together.
Rex ends up pregnant and has a difficult pregnancy. He is only carrying one baby so I'm unsure why the blurb mentions twins. I also don't understand how the reviews I read don't mention there are no twins. And who is Knox? Sheppard mated with Toklo in the previous book but the note left with the food says Sheppard and Knox. There wasn't even a Knox mentioned in previous book.
I enjoyed this story quite a bit. An omega was matched on a dating app and came to see the alpha. The alpha had not really been interested but his lion perked right up once he smelled him. It took awhile in the story to find out what Rex did for a living and by this time, he was tired of it. The characters were fun to read about as they learned to like each other. They had very good chemistry once they were honest with each other A good read

After meeting Jagger in the previous books, I was excited that he got his own book. He struck me as incredibly lonely at the beginning of the story. His attempt to find a mate brings him Rex. Rex is obviously brilliant and I liked that he always wanted to contribute to the relationship. It was amusing to see the two of them try and figure out how to proceed. Each is unsure of themselves and the other. Once Jagger decides that Rex is his, he's fully committed. He becomes quite the doting mate. I absolutely loved their decision in the epilogue.
The Mistrustful Mountain Lion's Omega is book 4 in the Male-Order Mates series. This book is about Rex, an omega bear shifter, and Jagger, an alpha lion shifter. Rex searches out Jagger in hopes he will accept him as his mate. The alpha takes his time but he can't deny that Rex is his mate. This is a sweet mpreg story and a nice addition to the series. I love how there are different types of shifters that live together as neighbors and come together as mates.

This is the fourth book in the series and each book is about two new people looking for love. Jagger is the owner of a roadhouse in the Pacific Northwest area. Rex is an omega that was matched with Jagger and came to track him down. Jagger is an alpha lion and Rex is an omega bear. Jagger does not trust omegas. Will Rex be able to find the love he needs and an alpha to love? Will Jagger be able to get past the fear he has and learn to love again?
