This book should have had a “Young Adult” warning, because I wouldn’t have picked it up if I knew that from the start.

I didn’t like the used language, maybe I am too old. But calling my best friend “bitch” as her pet name just sounds silly to me, without any incident prompting it.
What kind of writing style is that to put statements in brackets?
There is no calmness in the writing.
We start with her first day at school, to suddenly find ourselves in the middle of the library days later, to suddenl

“It’s been years since a human was condemned to death because they’ve learned of our secret. My father isn’t going to be pleased that his son, a pure blood and Alpha-to-be for our pack, lost his cool. Now a smart-mouthed human girl who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time would have to die.” - Xavier

I read this FOR FREE on Kindle Unlimited. Also, I made a mistake on Goodreads. I only read this book once...

I guess first things first: the grammar in the book is atrocious! There are so many issues with tense, switching from past to present. Absolutely ridiculous. I understand this in a first draft, and a few mistakes, but there...are just so many...

Anyway, ignoring that, the actual story? It's not anything new to the whole werewolf/urban subgenre. That's not really a bad thing, however, there'
There is something about the story I like somewhat, but it has tense and other editing issues, and is too fast-paced and too short for my tastes. I ended up skimming at some point, and may skim through more in the series to see what happens, but definitely rating as just okay.

Interesting but I had no idea they were all novellas... i like the characters but they're all so short it will probably take the entire series for actual depth to happen. Makes me wonder why they all weren't just published as a book. ...more

It's a promising start but it just drags on and on and when is she going turn to a wolf? Sorry but it didn't do it for me. Far too slow.

Wanted A Little More

This read was just OK for me. I really wanted a school setting however only a minute portion of the book was set in the college. I really liked Natalie, Ruby the MCs friend, but Ruby and Xavier's personalities weren't consistent enough for me to connect with. In the beginning the dialogue and reactions didn't feel authentic but this improved further along in the book. The various types of supernaturals and the conflict were somewhat intriguing as well as the mystery behind Ru

I really don't know why I picked this up, but here I am. There's a lot of writing errors, some basic stuff like a word repeated ("the the") and I always have a problem with the soulmate-thingy since it's 1. the most extreme form of insta-love and
2. often used as a solution to every problem the characters face. "Oh, this dude did or said something really problematic BUT he's my mate so I guess we'll move past that without even having a discussion about it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Short read but good!

Mysterious beginning, strange new world of supernaturals, missing past and a strong complicated future alpha. Me like! Xavier is yummy! Ruby is ok but her tough girl act in a cave cell was ridiculous. The second alpha who is supposedly her mate (dislike him so much that I can't remember his name) needs to go. I don't like triangles or harems.

„Luna Rising“ by Sara Snow, is the first installment of a new urban fantasy series by the same name, that offers a sassy main character dealing with the consequences of being at the wrong moment and place.

Ruby Saunders is a college student, fully aware of the propitious situation she is in, she has made it to college against bad grades odds on a scholarship that still forces to work into a dinner, and is she is determined to do everything humanly possible to keep her grades and with them her tui

Disappointing& fractured

From reading the reviews I thought I was going to love this. I, unfortunately,  didn't. I don't usually leave reviews like this but I felt the need to with this one.

The FMC is in college? So 18? Just moved into town, got a job and an apartment on day 1. Two weeks later she was locking up the diner?

A knife slipped from her hand, but never mentioned picking one up.

Xavier stood up and left the room. He was already standing. She spoke about how she had to tilt her head to

Red by any other name

I wanted to like this book, but there is something off-putting about it. With a few tweaks, it could be fun fluff, but there’s no way that I am reading 4 more books of this to see if the author ever gets it together.

Ruby is a redhead and, as a character, demonstrates a lack of creativity from the author; a character who is also named a synonym of their hair-colour. SMH. The entire college student aspect of the story dwindles out within the first chapter. Ruby discovers that

This is my first book by Sara Snow and I was intrigued by the cover and the blurb of the book. I’ve been looking for a good shifter PNR/Urban Fantasy for a while now and decided to give this a go.

I liked each of the characters as well as the plot of the book. I liked Ruby's fierce determination, Xavier's abrasiveness and even Axel's obvious hatred of Ruby as a human mate for his wolf. They worked well together, but I felt they were missing something. I didn't seem to fall 'in love' with them lik

DNF - quit at 10%
Just couldn’t get into this, the flow is slow, the FMC, Ruby, is portrayed as a volatile red head, so typical for “red heads” in books. Her language usage comes across as very uneducated, but yet she’s going to college for law, the concept doesn’t work together. The hook isn’t there for me to want to continue to see what happens next. The alley scene lost my interest, if she’s dumb enough to run into an alley in the night with guys chasing her, then I’m not interested in the sto

I received this book free from audiobooks unleashed and I am leaving an honest review.

Ruby is new in town and when she’s walking home one night she attacked by a gang of men but someone comes to her rescue. Xavier Blackwood saves Ruby however she sees he’s a Werewolf and their laws say any human that sees the must be killed however Xavier takes her to his home. When his Father confronts him about Ruby he admits she’s his fated mate but things are never that easy and it turns out she also a fated

This book is a quick, easy, engaging read with a bit of world building and a lot of character development. It uses a few familiar tropes, like the girl setting out on her own with something irresistibly special about her, rival shifter clans, and fated mates but also throws in a few really good twists with how it all plays out. Lots of relationship drama, but it is only the beginning of the romance. This book ends just as the action is picking up and the story is really getting interesting. Ther ...more

This series had a lot of potential and I loved the story concept. However, the number of errors overall made it very difficult to read despite the smaller number of pages. To start the character was in school for two days and met another character on the same day. Later there were continual references to having two weeks rather than days. The amount of depth for each character unfortunately just was not there. I also felt a lot of POV changes and tense changes made the read harder and incorrectl ...more

Ruby moves to new town with a scholarship to attend college. Sees sexy guy in class, stares, meets new friend. Gets job at diner. New friend comes in with hottie. He is her cousin, he stares at Ruby and not a nice stare. She walks home after her shift and is confronted by bad guys who start groping her. Enter hottie who now has black eyes and rips thugs apart. This is a good story and has a good narrator. I recommend this audiobook. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and thi ...more

Could have been a five star rating

I did like this story a lot. I even read it in one sitting. The characters were great and the story was just starting to develop to where you would become attached to them personally but it just never got there. You get the outline but nothing to really sink your teeth into and then bam it's over. I want to say it's a cliff hanger but it feels more like an incomplete story. This story has a ton of potential so I will continue to the next book with hope of it bei

Just what I needed

I have been in a reading slump. This book kept my interest and I am going on to the next in the series. I found that I became in vested in all the character and am looking forward to the others in the series. My only real issue with this book was the age questions. I don't tremeber seeing anywhere in this book that actually gives the age of Ruby. She is just heading into her first year of college, suggesting she is around 18-19, but she is able to go to a bar and get a whiskey

Shelves: dropped, shifters
I feel like the author took shifter traits from every single novel out there and threw it on this book. It's fast paced and not in a good way. One time she hates the guy and the next she says she felt instant attraction. I can see a good initial plot on the story but there's no development whatsoever. I'm definitely not reading the second book, I only finished this one through sheer will power.
I'm also not one of those to give one star lightly because I know how hard it is to write something an

This only felt like half a book - even as part of a multi book series. I enjoyed what I read but found the pace was slowed by the way it was written. The story is told in first person by a number of characters so in different chapters the same person will be “I” or “she” or “he” depending on whose point of view the chapter is from. This meant I had to concentrate harder or I got the characters confused. I’m sure I spotted one error too (a “she” instead of an “I”) so maybe the author got confused ...more

Oh crud , it’s short

I was reading along and all of a sudden I had an “oh shit” moment when it ended after 130 pages. I though I had Accidentally just ordered the sample, but no, it’s just short.

Apart from that, I loved the story!! It jumps right it! She starts college, and within the first two days she is attacked in an alley by three guys and Xavier saves her. The probables is she isn’t supposed to know about wolves. She goes to live with Xavier and the pack, and that is where the trouble sta

Good read, small inconsistencies.

So far, the author has a good story line going. Good place to leave off before the next book. However, character development is a little "jumpy". Meaning, some of the transitions & conveying of emotion can be very abrupt. Some details from book to book are left out or repeated as of the character hadn't mentioned it before. All- in- all, a good story, just not as "smooth "in character flow. At least the author also has good grammar & can spell, (unlike other boo

I got this book in a giveaway and even if it was the first book I’d ever read by this author I decided to do it because the interesting blurb. I loved it! The plot was way better than the blurb hinted not only because all its little twists and turns but also because the amazing characters and engaging dialogues. I don’t want to spoil anything for you but this book is a page-turner. A wonderful reading!

Ok.... so I liked this, I just didn't LOVE it. It felt very short and lacked a few details that would have enriched the story, like mentions of her past, etc. Beyond that, however, it was a decent tale that twisted the familiar werewolf myth enough to have it stand alone.

I'll follow the rest of the series.

Fast Paced & Interesting🐾🐺😉

Gotta love Ruby and her smart mouth! Story is fast and doesn't slow down much. Great flow and love how the transformation of turning into a wolf isn't as easy as other reads, and it isn't a regular wolf, more like the wolves from 'The Howling'!?! :-O Scared the crud out of me when I read that part! #Flashback Great start to the series, but not liking the cliffhanger!?! On to the next! #HappyReading ❤

4 stars for Luna Rising by Sara Snow. This is book one in the Luna Rising series. This was a quick interesting read. This book is a young adult romance. Xavier and Ruby are drawn together but Ruby does not know why. Ruby is a human and human who know about werewolves are supposed to be killed. However, that is not the case when it comes to Ruby. I loved how Ruby and Xavier interacted. Also the surprise of Axel . I can not wait to see what is to come next for this group.

Somewhat entertaining

This book was a bit difficult to follow since it needed a little more editing and character development. Also it bothered me how many times the word "rape" was said (even though none of the scenes actually had that). I also found the love interest not very likeable. It felt like it took forever to get to the action too. But when things got interesting then it had me really engaged.
