There was something about that first score, and not just on the football field.

I loved all of life's firsts, which was why I’d been saving mine for one girl, my older sister’s best friend—Hazel Jones.

She was tough and sarcastic with walls around her heart as tall as a football stadium, but I knew she was the one for me.

Desperate times called for desperate measures and I’d

Hazel and Oliver are childhood friends that have held secret crushes on each other. Hazel is also Oliver's sister's best friend and two years older than him. As you journey with Hazel and Oliver, revealed that they both have private and secret troubles they are dealing with, so when Oliver pretends to be someone else through a game that Hazel enjoys. Learning about these two was sweet, heartwarming, and beautiful. I did want a little more angst and tension, but overall

‘Her favorite thing in the world seemed to be giving me shit. And still I sought her out like a fool.’

The First Score by Amie Knight was such an emotional and angsty read, we literally could not put it down. A unique take on a soulmate love story spanning years. Talk about slow-burn romance, this right here is the definition of it and it was deliciously agonising and left us emotionally frustrated, but in a really good way. Beautiful, heartbreaking, funny and just so agonisingly good! T

This leading man is the swooniest everrrr! Winnie will easily win your heart and you won’t want it back!!! A friends-to-lovers romance with all the feels and heart stopping moments.

Hazel has been best friends with Scarlett her entire life. Therefore, Winnie, Scarlett’s younger brother has always been a big part of her life too. They share secrets she doesn’t even tell her bff. He understands her like no one else ever has. But he’s off-limits for so many reasons. She can’t be with

I.... I was really bored with this book. It did not hold my attention.
And for the life of me I honestly do not know why the heroine called the hero “Winnie.” Or maybe I just didn’t paid that much attention.

Well.. if you’re into virgin heroes with experienced heroine then look no further. Hero was just too beta for me. And let me tell you I don’t have a problem with betas heroes but I do have a problem with manchild who says that is in love with a woman and doesn’t do shit to chase her. Making a

I'm cleaning out the Kindle Unlimited section of my TBRs. So the last few days have been filled with some that were so-so and others that were surprise delights.

A charming best friends to lovers romance that includes a best friend’s younger brother match-up scenario. Oh! And Ollie’s a virgin heartthrob who’ll melt your heart. Amie Knight has covered all the emotions from heart-wrenching to heartwarming. Quick and fun-to-read!

I had been begging and pleading to get my grabby hands on this book since the author first revealed the general concept. A virgin hot-shot football player with eyes for one girl? What begins as a young crush could potentially bloom into so much more? The most tantalizing and enticing slow burn? Yes, yes, yes!
The First Score checked all of my boxes. This sibling’s best friend, sports romance is sweet and emotional with just the right amount of angst and drama to keep me reading all day long. Nev

Amie Knight never fails to engage me with her thoughtful, expressive storytelling. The First Score is heart-wrenching and moving friends-to-lovers first-and-only love story. Knight’s writing style, always so very witty and vividly detailed, is perfectly suited to telling a story like this, one that so rich in emotion. She gifted her readers with wonderfully endearing, authentic and completely relatable characters. This was a wholly consuming romance, and it was incredibly easy to lose

Another enjoyable read by Amie Knight.
Overall a really sweet friends to lovers slow burn romance with an emotional edge and some angsty scenes.
Not necessarily my favorite by story by this author but I definitely liked it plenty.

This talented lady always delivers complex, flawed and eternally endearing characters, but gah! Oliver Knox has such an enormous, pure heart, overflowing with patience and unconditional love, and never have I ever wanted so much for a character to be real as I do Ollie! We previously knew him as Scarlett's brother (The Red Zone), but he's so much more. I have major heart eyes and think I broke something swooning all over this guy!

I really enjoyed reading this book. There is self harm, abuse, love, friendship, growth and happiness in this book
Hazel and Ollie are best friends. Ollie is Scarlett's brother. Scarlett and Hazel have been best friends since Kindergarten.
Ollie has been in love with Hazel since the first time he met Hazel even when he didn't know what Love is. Hazel doesn't do relationships because of her past.
Will Hazel and Ollie have a chance at a relationship? Will life throw a wrench in the plans? Be sure

Not just puppy love!

The First Score is a slow burn romance with his older sister's best friend as the star of his dreams. Oliver has been in love with Hazel since first sight. Not many people believe a 5 year old knows these things but somewhere in that big hearted, little body of his, Ollie just knew Hazel was his.

Sixteen years of following her around and doing everything to be in her presence is a lot. Ollie is getting impatient. He just thinks if Hazel could drop her guard they would be every

Ollie has been in love with Hazel since forever. Hazel is his sister's best friend.
He is so desperate that he decides to log onto a gaming server with a fake name and a fake age only because Hazel usually plays on it.
Hazel has had a complicated life. At least, her childhood. As a consequence, she doesn't let people in. Ollie will have to fight for her if he really wants her.
And that's the way the reader gets into a war. A war full of yes-no, cold-hot Hazel.

Oh, I love this book! A deliciously slow burning friends-to-lovers / best-friend’s-brother romance that is sweet, sexy, and beautifully romantic! A little different from the usual contemporary romance, this book has some delightful little twists that make it so completely adorable and create a really gorgeous read.

really disappointed with this one, especially having reread a favorite of mine by this author so I know what she’s capable of but this wasn’t it. the romance fell totally flat and it was pretty disjointed in the middle. I love romances with a virgin hero but they are so difficult to find and they have to be done right. sadly this was pretty forgettable.

Since reading Amie Knight’s The Red Zone, I have been desperate for certain characters to have their stories told. Thus, I was eager to dive into The First Score. As has been the case with all my Amie Knight reads, this one hooked me right away and had me powering through it in a single sitting.

I had fallen for these characters in The Red Zone, but I fell even deeper for them in The First Score. I was sucked right into their story and loved watching the way things slowly built for them. They wer

The higher the troubles become in the outside world, the more I’m looking for a light, sweet and/or fun story to read. Something to take me away for a few hours to a lighter and better place, to let me forget my worries and fear for a little bit. And this book ‘The first score’ of Amie Knight definitely tick the box ‘sweet read’. It was just what I was looking for. A sweet and a bit of an emotional (but drama free!), new adult story where we get both POV’s. ‘The first score’ is the second book t ...more

Shh…I have a secret. I hadn’t read Amie Knight prior to reading an early copy of The First Score. You might be asking, “well, Professor A, if you haven’t read Amie Knight, why did you want to read The First Score?” Two words: sports romance. Yep. I’m a sucker for sports romance. Add to that the idea of friends-to-lovers with a little age gap (older woman-younger man), and I raised my hand high for that assignment. Then, Knight decides to make her hero, Oliver “Winnie”

The First Score, an all-new, new adult, sports romance from Amie Knight is available now!
We were lucky enough to score an arc! This book flew. I finished it in one sitting. It was a perfect book to just get lost in. This was my first Amie Knight book and it definitely won’t be my last, besides I really have to read the first in this series. I loved how the author gave us these characters that you want to know more about but didn’t force them (a gift not every author has).

THE FIRST SCORE is a sad, sometimes humorous, slow-burn romance. Oliver Knox has been in love with his sister's best friend, Hazel Jones, since he met her at five years old. He had answered the door to her, in nothing but his tighty-whities. This was much to his older sister's embarrassment. Even at that young age he had just wanted to take the sad look from her beautiful brown eyes. He would make it his lifetime ambition to make her happy. She had walls so high around her heart that it would be ...more

Ollie is the sweetest and swooniest leading character I’ve read in a very long time. His love for Hazel is so freaking adorable...his loyalty to her makes his character the perfect book boyfriend. He’s been in love with her is whole li

From the start I was drawn in by the whole Ollie catfishing Hazel and I really enjoyed that part. It really wasn’t a huge part of the story but it was really cute. Then we see how their friendship evolved from when they were younger. I love that their friendship was such a key factor in their story. Yeah, that had chemistry but it was so much more then that. Awesome secondary characters helped support these characters from the start and made me giggle.

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

The First Score by Amie Knight is a stand alone with cross over characters from a previous book. I had not read Amie Knight previously but this did not detract from my enjoyment.

I will admit I wasn’t sure how I was going to like this book. Initially, Hazel and Oliver are perceived as immature. I realize that was just the author’s build on their history. I thoroughly enjoyed watching their relationship grow. I did not see the twist coming. I w
