Here we go again

Could not finish. I've had some issues with this author and her books, and although I know better I still decided to give this a go, about 8 chapters in I was disappointed once again. I have to ask, why 2 chapters in this girl is hot and getting wet, swinging her hips like some kinda porn star, this same scenario is so old I'm tired of having to read it. The fact that she seems to know all kinds of crazy ways to fight and has guns like some bada****? it doesn't make any sense. Al
Circumstances beyond her control force Evelina Green leaving college to become guardian/head of household to her six siblings. The circumstances being her mom and dad vanished without a trace. That might not have been such a calamity if it weren't for the fact that each of her siblings are spoiled rotten indulgent maniacs with supernatural abilities who can't be placed into the foster care system.

An early morning visit by a nightmare darkfae in her home trying to kill her and her siblings bring

Evelina’s parents always made sure to move their family every six months. After attending seven high schools, Evelina is thrilled when she gets to go to college, and her parents put down roots - eight months and holding.

But after Evelina’s parents disappear and she’s summoned back from university, she’s left to raise her six siblings on her own. So much for her hopes and dreams, ya know? Especially after a nightmarish monster bursts into the kitchen while Evie is attempting to throw together bre

WOW! This story is the perfect example of why Ms. Xuemei X is one of my favorite authors. The story grips your heartstrings, gets your heart pumping, and brings a smile to your face in the first few chapters. That was all it took to keep me glued to the pages.

Evie isn't a young girl with no experience in the world. Her life has been mostly happy, but she isn't naive or innocent. She comes across much older than the college girl she is. She is mature, responsible, protective, and tough. She isn'

This story is amazing. It has humor, action, drama, suspense, and mystery. It is gripping and addictive. I was unable to stop listening to it. Victoria Mei gives the story so much life with her transitions between the different characters. She is a magnificent narrator and is a perfect choice to read it. The story is well written and keeps you engaged. It has vivid descriptions that allows you to picture the scenes easily. I can not wait to find out how the story continues. Evie is a great chara ...more

It’s pure magic!💜

Great storyline with so many amazing characters and easy to follow.
Fun, sexy & mysteriously magical ride. Kept me thoroughly entertained and I can’t wait for more.
Victoria Mei does a fantastic job on narrating all the different characters. I would have preferred to have an HEA but it doesn’t change how much I loved this book or how excited I am to read/listen to book 2 in this continuing series.
I highly recommend this book!

I couldn’t get past like 18% honestly so this is my review on what I did read. Okay.. so the main character, Evie, has just come home from college to watch her many siblings because her parents are missing. She doesn’t seem to care at all, and is very blasé about the whole thing. She’s rude to her siblings for no reason and the way she speaks to them is such a turn off, it made her really unlikeable. Evie also mentions having super hearing in the beginning of the book but doesn’t explain it

4-4.5 stars. Waaaaahh! Why do I do this to myself! Why do I start these unfinished series when I know the author is going hook me like a bass! Meg Xuemei X.. every time she pops up with something new I'm balls to the wall through it. I wish this had been longer. I wish I had read it slower. Dang it I wish the next book was out already! This is one of those books where the reader could just follow the FMC around through some ordinary, mundane tasks and still end up being thoroughly entertained. E ...more

Fun first installment. (1 day read)

The beginning is a little raw around the edges. The writing a bit sloppy there. But half-way the book it runs at lot more smoothly but not perfect.

There seem so be some stages when something needs to happen in the book going from left to right. Romance, action, family, sad lead female, reverse harem, dark tention from one lead male, even a porn lap dance. And why the last one is in there. No idea. It was totally out of the the blue. But maybe there was a roman

Dark Fae Kings, Book 1
By: Meg Xuemei X
Narrated by: Victoria Mei

Meg Xuemei X knows how to catch my attention and keep me addicted to her series! Fever Fae, the first in her new Dark Fae Kings series had me from the first chapter. Evie is home from college taking care of her six siblings after the disappearance of her parents. Now caught up in a world where of her family, she seems to be the only one that sees the people for whom they are, she finds herself in a position of power. But wh

Action, last and humour, this book has it all. It revolves around Evie whose parents have disappeared, leaving her to look after her siblings & keep the family together. While fighting to do this, she then starts having encounters with a supernatural world and 3 hot Fae Kings who want to claim her.

This is one of those books that absolutely draws the reader in and makes the fantasy world completely believable .

Evie is beautifully written, finding her inner strength to deal with her human

I love the Fae worlds that Meg creates. I always have strong emotions to her characters that you either love to hate or fall in love with.

Evie thought she was just a normal college student, when her parents go missing and she is now in charge of her 6 siblings. While trying to make ends meat and provide for them, assassins start showing up and as well as three fae kings who take an interest in her. Evie is stubborn as a main character, but she starts to grow on you as the book goes on. She gets

Good concept, but didn't quite hit its mark. I was underwhelmed with the characters really. The Fae kings rarely showed more than a superficial exterior and Eveliva was portrayed as crass, crude, and full of bravado. Her constant internal battles and issues with the Kings or lack of trying to understand the world around her got old pretty fast. I felt that by the time I was at 70%, I was like nothing really happened of note. I just wanted more. Overall, it wasn't a bad book, just so-so. I mig

I wanted to like this. But it had the worst dialog I have ever read. Disjointed, juvenile and did not flow like a conversation should. The interaction was terrible. Snarky dialog fell flat every time. Don't waste your money.

This is a hard book for me to review. There are some parts that I liked enough that had me continue to read on, and too many other parts I hated, that I would normally DNF over. I think this book was immature (especially some of the humor), and had some points that just didn't jive well for the book as a whole. The female main character, Evie, is just over the top unbelievable, and left me with no words at times, I'm not sure if I like her or not half the time. The 3 Kings that are her RH, well, ...more

I read this book for What the Smut, a podcast my friends and I do about paranormal erotica/romance. Our discussion Surprised in Espanol is full of spoilers but after you read the book check it out.

Oh... The Fae. I really would never choose a book about Fae Royalty because it's just not my jam. Evelina is an interesting counterpoint to the Royalty and the detail on the sibling personalities is amazing! It's a fun story and I think the next installments will get better.
Fun book. Definitely laid the foundation for more to come. Pretty much a cliffhanger ending that will lead right into book 2. The story is good (pretty generic though), and Eve is enjoyable, but the guys are dicks. Well, I like Rydstrom, mostly. But the other two kings are trash. If I met a man who thought I couldn’t understand his language and he talked to his friend (right in front of me!) about forcing the peasant human girl (me) to give him a blow job and then either mind wiping me afterward ...more

I read this with Kindle Unlimited. DNF

Right off the bat, the story began with the beginning of the day. An alarm clock. While this isn't inherently bad, it's kind of...cliche. In fact, I felt the entire first chapter could be written differently. There are so many characters and concepts introduced quickly, so it was hard to just focus on the main character and get a sense of who she was. Before I could even begin to care about her, she's thrown into action. The pacing was so strange--there wasn

The story had promise but it felt like huge chunks of the story and plot were missing to give the story meaning and depth. The main character is worried about something he mentions a handful of times is passing comments but no context is given to the readers. Nothing was provided that would make the readers care about why said main characters act the way they keep talking about. If you can get over the plot holes and just was the smut, there's certainly plenty of that. It's got boy o

This...was...just bad. I absolutely struggled through six chapters and couldn't go on. Evie's parents disappear so she drops out of college to take care of her siblings, there was like 7 of them or something. I don't feel bad not remembering how many there were because Evie couldn't even tell some of them apart. Then a monster shows up, she chases it off by some magic she didn't know she had and and then some fae guys show up.

Evie may be the worst case of a tstl heroine I've ever encountered. S

I'm about a third of the way in and I'm SO CONFUSED. The parents have disappeared which may or may not have happened before (?) so she dropped out of university to care for her siblings. Ok. Nobody seems all that worried or sad about missing mom and dad. What kind of heartless kids are these?!? Do Evie and the kids already know about the supernatural world/creatures because they don't seem very shocked when they show up. Then Evie blasts a monster through a window...and the broken glass and gapi ...more
