I loved reading this emotional sensitive book, as I lived the life the author talks about. My family moved from Chicago to Mt. Prospect when I was seven years old, thus my life was basically a carbon copy of what the author so eloquently describes in his book. I both cried and laughed while reading this book, because it brought back so many wonderful memories. We were a very fortunate innocent generation, sadly never to be seen again. I was interested in this book because it mostly took place in the town I grew up in. I was hoping for a little more about Mt. Prospect, but, was very interested in reading about the culture of it and how it came to be. It was very much like living in a bubble even though I didn’t realize it at the time. I lived there or near there for the first 32 years of my life. I have lived in the Atlanta area for the last 28 years. Quite different down here!
