Giving Love A Try: Emory and Alani

Rate this book
We were introduced to Emory Strong and Alani Shaw in the Finding My Way Back to Love series. This is a young, sexy couple, who decides to give love a try for the first time, but they just can’t seem to get it right. Their relationship ended before it really began. Alani was the first woman that Emory had ever given his all to, and because of her betrayal, he feels that he cannot trust her. Without trust, there isn’t much of a relationship. Emory and Alani were meant to be together, but it’s almost as if Emory doesn’t believe that anymore. Can one mistake that Alani made be enough for her to get her walking papers? Will Emory finally find it in his heart to forgive Alani so they can finally give love a try and get that perfect, happily ever after that they so rightfully deserve? There’s no doubt that Emory loves Alani, but just because you love someone doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to be together.

I could not put this book down. Emory activated my anger being so stubborn and bull headed. Alani was strong, it took a lot of love to pour her heart out in a club full of people.

Omg I loved Emory and Alani love story

Emory Strong and Alani Shaw went thru mistrust and mistreatment of each other. Emory really loved Alani but he couldn't forgive her for her betrayal of knowing Marcus. Alani was afraid to tell Emory about her past with her dealing Marcus because she knew Emory would judge her. Emory would go to the club and post pictures of him with Naomi and other women on snap chat and social media. Trying to hurt her Alani and humiliated her to make her suffered for the pain she called him. Emory Strong was arrogant and selfish man who fought loving Alani. Alani Shaw tried to get over loving Emory Strong but she has never loved anyone before. Because her parents abused her physically and mentally and she killed them at seven years old. Alani Shaw was trying to get her master degree to better herself. Loving Emory was a emotional rollercoaster she knew he could break her heart. Edwin was a friend from school he ask Alani to go out to dinner she wasn't feeling him like that. She was trying to still get over Emory. Alani was jumped by Edwin Hawkins daughters mother Sarena Bragg and her twin cousins. Sarena Bragg was extremely jealous of anyone talking to Edwin because she felt he was hers. Edwin Hawkins and Sarena Bragg was in a dysfunctional relationship because he felt she didn't want to better herself and be a better woman or mother she was trifling didn't have any goals wanted Edwin to take care of her she got comfortable. Emory Strong and Alani Shaw was trying to slow rebuild their relationship and learn how to trust each other the love was still their. Emory Strong was in love with Alani Shaw he was hurt by her not being honest with him about Marcus. Alani told Emory all about her troubled past and her relationship with her parents and the physical and emotional abuse she suffered as a child. How it was hard to love and trust him when she didn't know how he taught her to love again. Alani was beaten and left for dead then she finds out she 14 weeks pregnant and Emory was in Atlanta. Alani is rushed to the hospital she suffered major injury her neighbor called Kennedy and his family was their. Emory felt guilty about what happened to his lady he loved her dearly he wanted Edwin and Sarena gone but Alani didn't want them harmed. Mustafa told Emory what happened to Alani and that she pregnant. Emory Strong wanted Alani to stay with him she still had insecurities and trust issues concerning Naomi. Naomi sent out sex tape to Alani Facebook page and adding salt to injury to get Emory attention and to start mess to cause a rift in their relationship. Alani Shaw was trying to rebuild her relationship with Emory she was willing to give him her heart and soul. Emory Strong realize Alani Shaw was the woman he wanted and need she was carrying his baby despite how he treated her he wanted her to be his wife. He wanted a relationship like his parents and brother have with their wife. Alani was growing and pregnancy was agreeing with her she was astonished how her life has changed for the better since met Emory. For Alani birthday Emory surprised her with an engagement ring he had custom made for her and ask her to marry him in front of her whole class she was so emotional and brought her a house for her and their family to live in. Edwin Hawkins apologize to Alani for his Sarena attack her he had feelings for Alani but she loved Emory. Edwin talk to Sarena if she didn't get her life in order he was going to get custody of his daughter and cut her off for good she immediately changed her ways. Emory family had a baby shower for her he wanted to create memory with her. It turned into a shoot out because Marcus ordered a hit on Mustafa Strong and his family when he was in prison. Alani water broke and she went into labor had her baby in the car on the way to the hospital Princess Strong is born healthy . After all the drama and pain and mistrust issues. Emory Strong and Alani Shaw got married and loved each other. He never knew he would find her after his players ways. Alani Shaw was one of a kind strong, independent, ambition. Alani Strong also got Naomi back for disrespectful ways and whoop her tail. Also loved the respect he had for his parents and his brother Mustafa Strong and Duke Strong. Emory Strong also became a business owner of his own barbershop Miami Cutz. I loved this book I'm glad they decided to give love another try.

Alani and Emory

I am glad these two got it together because I was definitely rooting for them. I wanted to beat up Naomi and Sarena for Alani. Neither has the right to not like her because she ain't do nothing to them. I am glad she was able to have friends like Kennedy and Paris, no matter what we all need at least one friend. I am glad Emory grew up because I thought he was going to be stubborn forever but he wasn't. I liked these two together though!! Great read, definitely a page turner!!

Emory & Alani ❤

I loved it and so glad that Emory and Alani had given there love a try. I was glad when they started over and learned how to trust one another again because it's true if you don't have trust you don't have nothing. I really wanted Alani to get back at Serena for jumping her but I was too hype when she got at Naomi. This was a perfect ending to the story. Great job Diamond I really enjoyed it

Yes hunty Diamond Johnson is the best

I absolutely loved this book Emory tried to be so hard but he truly loved Alani as she did him. Everyone has a past that there not proud of and Emory is bullheaded and almost cost him his happiness. I was surprised when he took the higher road and didn't kill Edwins baby mama, because I would of had her beat down. I'm glad Mustafa and Duke was there schooling Emory when he messed up those Strong brothers are the truth.#305

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I felt so bad for Alani in the beginning of this story. She loved Emory so much, that she embarrassed herself. That club scene had me hot🤬 That damn Naomi was just stupid and did the most. Happy that Emory brothers was able to talk him into getting it together for Alani. Happy they got their happy ending. I felt like Sarena should have at least gotten her a** whooped. She got off to easy. But all in all this was a good read.

Emory and Alani!

Great job Diamond! Those strong brothers were something else. Mustafa is still bae. That dang Emory was a mess though lol! He pissed me off the way he treated Alani in the beginning. I was so happy when he finally listened and got some act right because their story was beautiful.❤️
I hated Naomi and was so happy when she got hers. The snake scene was hilarious. I didn’t like Sarena either but her and Edwin’s dysfunctional selves deserved each other.

A family put together...
Need to do a continuance on this family.
What I didn't like was there was no follow up on Noelle with the snakes how did she get lose from the snakes, what happen to her besides getting beat up, the guy from Alain class, the girlfriend and twin cousins should have been a confrontation just loss ends that wasn't addressed...I really like the books for a 5 star

Great ending to the Strong family and I really enjoyed it. Loved the storyline and it moved at a steady pace. Enough drama to make a really good read and throw in a few twist and turns. So glad Emory and Alani finally got it together and got their happy ending. Was good catching up the the rest of the Strong family. Job well done Diamond Johnson.

Great story!!

Alani made it through the storm and found her Sunshine. Emory grew into the man he was meant to be. Loved the brothers dynamics. Don’t like Sareen and gang didn’t pay for their crimes. Naomi was just Naomi and was to old to be doing the thing she did and got a beat down. God continuation of the previous series. Editing issues abound though.

Aloni is my girl

This book was great it shows it doesn’t matter what you go through and where you come from you can still be successful. We all may have done things we wish we could change but that’s life. The Strong family is amazing and are just what they represent strength. Love this book

wow

Idk about these stone dudes. After that audio thing she should moved on. I hate how it’s portrayed as true love because a woman allows a man to dog her out and make mistakes but if she makes one he damn near dies.
Let’s stop normalizing black Women being cheated on and abused. Idc how it ended. 2 stars cause Emory sucks.

This was a good book. I am glad they both got a chance to finally be happy. It's sad how some females what to be petty and cause problems over a man that doesn't believe to them. Edwin and his baby mama may stand a chance if they take their time and don't rush it. Naomi she definitely deserves what's she got both times. Loll

A great standalone

This was a great read. Emory was hurt by what he thought Alani was trying to set him up. He reaction was based on not being played. I'm glad his brothers filled him in on some things. I liked their chemistry and the love they displayed.

These two were lowkey my favorite in Kennedy an Mustafa series, life has a crazy way of making people come together or either fall apart these two had endured so much that in the end love that they had for one another conquered all .....

A lot was missing

I tried to read the book twice and I could not connect with the main characters at all. I felt like the book did not make sense at all. I am a fan of Diamond’s work but this is not a book I would try to read again.

jealousy emotions deceit

it's funny how when a man hear you moving on, all of sudden he can't live without you. Emory was flawed, and threw a tantrum like a little boy. Alain don't ever get on your knees again

Weak Females

I'm usually a big fan of Diamond's work but lately it's been annoying reading about weak females.. I was surprised on how Sarena didn't receive karma for nearly killing Alaina and her baby as well.
