This is an easy guide to puberty and periods for young girls from ages 8-14. It is an illustrated book that teaches young girls about changes happening in their bodies as they get to puberty. Understanding periods (menstruation), period hygiene and management. The series starts off with 3 friends (Anabel. Ada and Misha) who are on an adventure to discover the changes happening in their bodies.
I used to be responsible for buying SRE resources for 8-11 year olds and so am still interested in what is on the market ‘these days’ for children. This was pretty good and the comic format makes the information more accessible too.
When I first heard about puberty, I was so scared! I thought it would hurt and be harmful for me. This book has relieved me soo much. I now am as confident as all these girls!🤩
This was a great tool to help introduce 4-5th graders to puberty! It addresses topics of puberty, periods, wellness care, and accessing period products (including for those who can't afford hygiene products).
I used it to talk with my daughter then left her the graphic novel to read.
I really hope this gets the authors attention. The book version I purchased from iBooks and from chapters are low resolution. The book is only available in ekobo and the resolution sucks it’s un readable. I can’t get a hard copy book here in Canada. I wish this was more readily available because from the pages I could see online it looks like a great resource but it’s impossible to get a copy.
Read this to see if it would be good to have my 10 year old read it. It's pretty clunky in trying to fit these conversations into a comic format of a few friends hanging out, but i think the material is appropriately presented and neutral with no value judgements or anything. So I am planning to give to my 10 year old to read.
This book was great. It was really engaging, positive, and informative. My daughter(9) really liked the way that things were explained and it was written in a way that she made her comfortable reading. It was a great springboard for conversations and perfect for her age and maturity level.
Pre-reading some books to find the most helpful and positive ones for my daughter. This one was alright and the graphic novel format would be fun if handing directly to the kiddo, but I found others that offer more.
I wish a book like this existed when I was growing up. Being raised by men was not easy. I love my dad. But I felt lost as a girl learning about my body.
This book is a good way for girls to learn what is happening during puberty.
I would definitely recommend. This book is a good way for girls to learn what’s going on with there body’s. They can also learn that it’s ok to talk about stuff like this because this is one of those topics that no one ever talks about because they are embarrassed when there’s really nothing to be embarrassed about.
