Books 1-3 of the Sapphire Beach Cozy Mystery Series
Sun-drenched Florida beaches. A Fair Trade jewelry shop owner. Mysteries that will keep you guessing.
If you enjoy page-turner cozy mysteries, loveable characters, and palm trees swaying in the breeze, you’ll love the Sapphire Beach Cozy Mystery Series!
Condos and Corpses (Book 1) Connie Petretta can think of no other option but to sell the beach front condo she recently inherited from her beloved aunt, but a murder in the apartment next door stalls her plans. As she tries to prove her friend and neighbor’s innocence, she contemplates keeping the condo and opening a jewelry shop in Sapphire Beach, where tourists abound, to showcase her handmade creations. But starting a business would mean walking away from an eleven-year career in humanitarian work, and her overseas contacts have become like family over the years. Will she find a way to combine her love for jewelry making with her passion for humanitarian work and solve the murder in the process?
Surf, Sand and Skeletons (Book 2) Connie Petretta is excited for the grand opening of Just Jewelry, her new store featuring Fair Trade jewelry, as well as her own handmade creations. But while setting up shop, she discovers evidence that the previous tenant, Natasha, who disappeared a year ago, may not have run away as many assumed. Connie’s belief that Natasha would not abandon her young daughter impels Connie to investigate.
Piers, Pliers and Problems (Book 3) Connie Petretta is excited to teach her first jewelry making class in her brand-new shop, Just Jewelry. Her teaching debut is off to a good start, that is, until one of her students is found murdered under the pier after class. And if that isn’t bad enough, Connie’s missing pliers turn out to be the murder weapon. Will Connie solve the mystery in time to save her store’s reputation?
Angela K. Ryan is the author of the Sapphire Beach Cozy Mystery Series, the Seaside Ice Cream Shop Mysteries, and the Cape Cod Cozy Mysteries. She writes clean, feel-good cozies for readers who love humor, lots of twists and turns, and happy-dance endings.
When she is not writing, Angela enjoys the outdoors, especially kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snowshoeing, and skiing. She lives in Massachusetts and loves all four of the New England seasons, but she looks forward to regular escapes to the white, sandy beaches of southwest Florida, where her mother resides.
It is fitting that Angela’s series take place in fictitious seaside towns in Massachusetts and Florida. These small towns would be idyllic if it weren’t for all the bodies that keep turning up!
Angela dreams of one day owning a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel like the sweet pup in her Sapphire Beach Series, but she isn’t home enough to take care of one. So, for now, lives vicariously through one of her main characters, Connie.
Books 1-3 of the Sapphire Beach Cozy Mystery Series
In Condos and Corpses, we find Connie who inherited a beachside property from her aunt Concetta, and decides to sell it. She travels to Sapphire beach and then there is a murder and Conies' friend is the prime suspect. So she starts to investigate. She also decides not to sell the condo but moves to Sapphire Falls and start a jewelry business. A really entertaining book that made me want to read more.
In Surf, Sand and Skeletons, Book 2, Connie is installing her new shop, Just Jewelry, when she finds a diary from the previous tenant who dissapeared leaving her young daughter behind, so as there is no explanation to the dissapearance, she decides to investigate what happened to the previous tenant.
In Piers, Pliers and Problems, Book 3, Connie starts business with her first jewelry making class in Just Jewelry. Next day, she finds out that a student from her class is killed! So she feels this could be bad for business and decides to investigate.
This books had all I love in cozy misteries: Well written characters, the beach, murders to solve and friends and family helping the main characters to solve the murders.
If you love clean mysteries, these books are for you.
The Sapphire Beach Cozy mystery set 1-3 covers Connie’s recent inheritance of her Aunt Concetta’s condo in sunny Florida and her decision to stay and make a home there. Inspired by her present job with Feeding the Hungry and her International travels and time spent with women working in Fair Trade, she decides to open a jewelry store. She plans to include the jewelry she learned to create from a friend in Africa as well as the Fair Trade jewelry made by her African friends. In each book, Connie manages to become involved in solving a murder, while making friends in her new hometown! These are great cozies with surprise endings, and some wonderful characters! I highly recommend!!
Sapphire Beach - Wish I Was There! After reading the prequel (Vacations and Victims), I did something I rarely do - I purchased these books! I normally try to keep my reading to Kindle Unlimited, free offerings or at the most, the $0.99 sale books, but these had me hooked and I had to find out what Connie was up to. I was sad to see Aunt Concetta pass, but happy to see Connie make new friends, find a new calling and start a life in Sapphire Beach. All three books in this set were engaging, fun to read, and left me wanting to be right there in the mix with Connie, Elyse, Stephanie and the rest of the crew!
Connie has dedicated a decade of her life to helping others but is in the midst of a path dilemma when her great-aunt dies and leaves her condo in Florida to Connie. A decision has to be made, but a murder throws off her schedule. The trouble with series is that they become so predictable. So it is with this set. They’re well written and characters are realistic. However, I’m not ready for more of the same.
This is a 2.5 ⭐️ for me. This box set has been on my TBR for years, I’m glad I completed it. I would recommend this series to someone just getting into cozy mysteries. I found it cute but repetitive, once you read the first book some of the explanations in the second and third books are unnecessary. Maybe it would work if you read one book, allow time to pass then read the next book. I’m not sure I will continue with this series but I’m glad I tried it.
Connie inherited a condo in Sapphire Beach and decides to turn her life around and move from Boston to Sapphire Beach to open a jewellery making shop.
Of course things are not all sunshine and roses but dead bodies are showing up in all 3 books and Connie, together with her friends, is solving mysteries.

This series is good, clean, humorous fun to read! Each one toes in nicely to the others- not something I see every day when I read a series. I highly recommend downloading this series then cozying up to read!
I just loved these books! So intriguing to have a murder mystery lol up in the middle of a craft making class like this! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and want many more!
Connie is shocked when one of her jewelry students is killed, with HER pliers. She has to figure out who done it before the reputation of her jewelry business is ruined.
Even though these books were not literary greats, they werr enjoyable! I wOuld recommend to anyone wanting to read something that that doesn't require much thought and is entertaining!
A wonderful main character surrounded by her amazing friends & family. Very clever plots woven around a glimpse of a well lived life. Who knew a murder mystery could reveal how wonderful life, friends & family are.
Great cozy mysteries, with the death of her Aunt, Connie has decisions to make and they all lead to a number of murders, new friends—and a little romance
I enjoyed this series so much that I have ordered all the sets. I love the interaction of the characters and after a few pages they feel like old friends. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a cozy mystery. I have already started on the second series and can't wait for the next issue.
