Let me start off by saying that I'm the fool that didn't know this wasn't a standalone. So when I got to the ending, I was all like WHAAAAAAT?! You better believe I'll be looking forward to part two, which is due to release on November 27th.

What you'll get with this book:
✔ a playboy prince who didn't seem to be answerable or responsible for anything
✔ said prince finding his way, finding growth, and finding his heart while being manipulated to find a wife with means
✔ a rich girl who isn't really

What a lovely modern day Royal’s romance! Slow burn—Arranged marriage—interracial couple..count me in!

This story had me giggling, swooning and gasping because of the way it ended. I need book 2 ASAP! What a cliffy. Gale is absolutely Perfect. He won me over with his letter writing.

Odette reminds me so much of myself and how I used to be concerning apprehensions of turning your heart over to love at the risk of getting hurt. Daddy issues what can I say. Nothing like the perfect man to pro

This modern day royal romance is amazing. It has a very Christmas type of romantic movie feel to it, which I really love.

What you will get in this book:
- Royal romance
- Arranged marriage
- American heiress drama
- conversations full of banter and witty dialogues
- Stubborn female main character and a swoon worth love interest
- Earth shattering ending
- And lastly, dramatic rich mothers at war

I loved every second of it. It was everything I wanted and more! I can’t wait for the secon

The Prince’s Bride is a slow burn royal romance, surrounding an arranged marriage. Pressured by their duty, Gale and Odette are both resistant towards the possibility of marriage. However, as they come to spend time together, their perspectives shift, and life takes an unexpected twist which inevitably alters the course of their future. J.J. McAvoy leaves the reader curious, as the book ends on a cliffhanger.

First off, the cover. Isn't it PERFECT? I may have considered licking it.

Ok, now about the book:

To be able to collect her inheritance, Odette Wyntor needs to get married, and what a better choice than a Prince that requires the same thing. The difference? He needs it to save his family and the monarchy from royal bankruptcy. And even though none of them is thrilled with the plan—an arranged married is their o

I've been reading J.J. McAvoy's books for years now and the one thing she's consistently good at is creating worlds that you just want to get lost in.

I definitely enjoyed this book but it took me a while to get invested. At first I was really into this book, then I sorta lost interest about 25% in and it took me months to make myself pick this back up and I truly cannot tell you why I was so against picking it up. I think I just wasn't in the right mood for it but when I picked it back

This is a cute, sweet modern romance involving a foreign Prince that needs money to save the royal family and an American heiress that needs to get married to get her inheritance.

Prince Gale of Ersovia has been ordered to marry a wealthy woman to bail out the monarchy who is deeply in debt due to failed management by the King. Odette Wyntor is a popular singer who's billionaire father left half of his fortune to her, on the conditio

Prince Galahad “Gale” is a Prince of Ersovia. Gale up to now has enjoyed his twenty seven years of his life but he is now being forced into a arranged marriage. His father is ill and the Kingdom is on the way to bankruptcy. His family decided to arrange his marriage to a wealthy person to save Ersovia. Gale isn’t happy but has no choice in the matter.

You are forever. That is the difference.

This was so good. I’m dying for the second book and I’m in love with Gale and Odette! The marriage of convenience trope is one of my favorites. But this masterpiece of slow burn, friends first, drinking wine and talking all night, lots of kisses, literally romance masterpiece was everything!! And all the drama between Odette’s mom and stepmom was juicy. I’m usually annoyed by that kind of drama but this was written so well. It added just enough drama. Like

The beginning of a gorgeous Royalty Series...

I loved the sweet atmosphere of the contracted marriages in the 1800s and the wonderful harmony of Gale & Odette. The fiction was exactly like the present day adaptation of successful arranged marriages in histo

Arranged marriages seem archaic, but Prince Gale and Odettte are thrown into this exact scenario. Although initially both argued against the idea, eventually they realized there might be some reasons to move forward with the arrangement.

For the lovers of slow burn modern day royal romance. The Prince’s Bride part 1 brings a beautiful love story to make you swoon. It was sweet, swoony and fun. Since it’s part 1 of 2 books there’s definitely a cliffhanger that will make you beg JJ for part 2.

I loved the hallmark movie vibe that I got from this beautiful love story. The banter between siblings and also the main characters was brilliant and entertaining. There is a mother daughter drama that made the story so much fun. You will de

I just can't take it any more.
Don't know if there are adult scenes or not. They haven't happened yet.
The dialogue is extremely stilted.
There is a little bit of humor but not enough to keep me reading.
The story itself comes off too YA for me.
And a whole lot of nothing is happening.

I give up.

There will NEVER be enough royalty romances featuring Black women as the leads for me so I'm glad I picked this one up. Gale (our playboy prince) and Odette are that oil and water couple who really do belong together despite themselves. I really love how Odette is the rich heiress rather than the lovely yet broke heroine who needs a fortune to save whatever. I didn't like how said fortune was tied to marrying in order for her to inherit it and her dead billionaire father merited a "you suck" fro ...more

„Do not try to look at the end. Instead, enjoy the present with me.”

I adore books about modern royalty and I love marriage of convenience trope. And let me tell you, J.J. McAvoy mixed the two brilliantly! The Prince’s Bride is a sweet and swoony slow-burn romance that will give you all the feels. It’s filled to the brim with sizzling chemistry, witty banter and delicious push and pull. It’s such an entertaining and heartfelt story that it’s just impossible to put down!

This was a fun modern, royal romance that was a light and playful read. Gale is prince of Ersovia, a european nation, and his family is in a financial crisis. He essentially needs to marry for money and thus his arranged marriage with the wealthy heiress Odette.

Neither Gale nor Odette want to marry for money but they both have a responsibility to their family for various reasons to see the marriage through. Gale especially understands his duties to the crown and spends most of this book convinci

Edit: I'm going to change my star rating from a 4 to a 5 because i cannot stop thinking about Gale and Odette. This couple is everything to me.

What a great way to begin the new year with!

This book delivered a slow burn romance that I didn't know I needed. When I say slow I mean slowww. But oh was it so beautiful.

It contained some of my favourite tropes; marriage of convenience and enemies to friends to lovers.

This story follows Odette who is an American heiress and Gale the Prince of Ersovia

This was my first introduction to this author and I am happy I waited. This book reminded me what it feels like to truly invest in a relationship from thew ground up.

The book is about Prince Gale. He is the second in line to take over the throne after his older brother. He is a playboy who doesn't want to commit to anyone and wants to enjoy all the perks of being a royal. It isn't until hi family informs him that he needs to have an arrange marriage to save their family's fortune. His older bro
Gonna try this again another time. For some reason I just can’t get into it, couldn’t even get through the sample tbh...

J.J. McAvoy wrote a sweet and charming novel that won't disappoint. Gale and Odette's story reminded me of The Prince and Me" and "Cinderella" but with much more depth. It had lovely twists and turns that kept me on my toes and dying to know the secrets that Odette's step-mom, step-sister, and mother were hiding. And through it all, Gale had me smiling!

The end surprised me when maybe it shouldn't have, but it still did, and now I CANNOT wait for Part II.

I received an ARC of this book.

This was pretty good. I loved the writing, the set up the situation etc. Very effective.

Gale and Odette are charming, funny with each other. And it is nice to have the luxury of two people getting to know each other through conversations and spending time together without jumping into bed and boning right away.

The plot of Odette's inheritance and the relationships with her mother, her stepmother and her sister were very interesting.

What didn't work so well was that as I was reading this book I
Ahh...this was a clever take on a "royal romance." I really enjoyed the venture into arranged marriage in the modern age. It demonstrated how people could still be used as bargaining chips to marry another person because it's advantageous for their family or country....not for love.

Prince Gale and Odettte each have different reasons for needing to marry the other. They are also both very much against it initially. However, as time goes on, they will find that their choices are slim and they act

The Prince’s Bride is an arranged marriage, slow-burn royal romance. A very slow burn that sometimes gets stretches to boredom.
A whole lot of nothing is happening in this book except for setting up for the next book. Of course, J.J. McAvoy, like always leaves the reader curious as the book ends on a cliffhanger.
Overall I can say it was a fun and an OK read. Hope the next book is better.

All I can think is "when is part 2 coming out!?!"

This book was witty, hilarious and just so much fun. Until the end. I have to remember this is JJ McAvoy, she can do sweet but she is the queen of ruthless.

im on an awful dnf streak and i don't know if it is my terrible slump or the fact that the book i'm picking are just not miracle workers.
this book's premise looked good but then the execution simply was not doing it for me. the pacing was weird in the sense that the action was slow asf and yet, the relationship started to be rushed. by the 50% mark, which is where i left it, the two mcs had had like 3 conversations but were already heavy on the flirting.
idk. it was not for me. no
