This is a beautifully written childrens chapter book. It is perfectly written for those still new to chapter book reading. The words are easy enough to read and comprehend that even beginners will benefit from it. The illustrations are also quite lovely and bright.
I realize there are already countless Einstien books readily available but I do feel this book has so much to offer young readers. One of my favorite things about this book is the glossary. Its important that children are able to understand what they are reading and I think that including a glossary helps make sure of that. . I also love that this book includes “Think Tank” questions, getting kids not just reading but actively thinking and opening dialogues is so important. This book also included a table of contents and chapters which make this a great book for home use as well as in a classroom setting.
I recieved a digital copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The Story of Albert Einstein is an illustrated biography for kids. This book tells of Einsteins birth and childhood. We learn about his time in school and how he got in trouble for asking too many questions. We hear about how Albert worked various jobs and eventually became famous for his scientific work.
This chapter book is perfect for older elementary school kids, I would think grade 3 and up. The book, like others in the series, has a timeline in each chapter and several discussion questions sprinkled throughout the book that will help kids think deeper about ideas presented in the book. This is a great introductory work for kids to learn more about Einstein. This book may help spark an interest in science in young readers.
I received an advanced review copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
A kid friendly biography of Albert Einstein will be sure to inspire the imagination and the thirst for knowledge. Starting with Einstein as a small child that didn't speak until he was 4 to his accomplishments thru out his life. Einstein loved to learn and to see how everything worked from light to movement. Einstein suffered from racial discrimination from being Jewish and misunderstood with his teachers as a know it all.
Each chapter goes into a significant part of his life with time lines and questions to think about the culture of is his time. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
A Special thank you to Callisto Media and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
This book was perfect for my 3rd grader to experience a biography. The book had facts about Albert's life that were entertaining and also encouraged him to want to understand more of Albert's theories. This book would be good to read to elementary children or have them read. Reading the book together was nice so that we could discuss some of the questions the book offers.
It was boring because it was about so much science and math and all that. I have learnt that Albert Einstein married 2 people. Albert Einstein actually created the atomic bomb. He didn't create it; but he just got the idea.
I would recommend this book to every kid, so well written and illustrated. Love the jump in the think tank idea of letting the kids imagine and have their say in the book as well. A lot of information to know Einstein.
'The Story of Albert Einstein: A Biography Book for New Readers' by Susan B. Katz is a biography for young readers.
From Albert Einstein's early years to his death, this book tell a life over eight chapters. From his youngest days, not speaking until he was four, and not doing well in school, to his days working in the patent office where he came up with early theories. Albert Einstein's theories helped develop nuclear weapons, but Albert Einstein was a pacifist.
I liked this concise and easy to read story. The chapters are broken up with nice illustrations and infographics. There are quizzes, a glossary and a bibliography at the end.
I received a review copy of this ebook from Callisto Media and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.
This biography for beginning readers is another entry in an excellent series for young readers. Well illustrated and told, this book introduces children to the life of one of our greatest and brightest scientists. As is true in all of the books in the series, there are many ways in which the reader's experience is enhanced including a quiz at the end, timelines, questions to think about, quotes and more.
Young readers will learn a great deal about this fascinating and eccentric man who did not speak until he was four years old. They will find out how he got from there to showing the world just what a genius he was!
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great book to introduce any young learner about Albert Einstein and his life. It is written simply--the author does not get into explanations about him or his theories that are too complex for kids to understand. I even learned some things about Albert Einstein that I hadn't known before. I liked the questions at the end of each chapter--they give the students something to think about and how Albert Einstein's life might relate to their own.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting an easy introduction to Albert Einstein and his life.
Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this ARC with me.
Another great addition to the Story Of series for young readers! In this volume, kids learn about Albert Einstein and his work in science and physics, told in clear, age appropriate language. The text gives an overview of his life and work that hits all the highlights, both good and bad, to provide a good introduction to Einstein. As always, each chapter includes a timeline and thoughtful discussion questions, with a quiz, glossary, and bibliography at the end of the book. The illustrations are engaging, and add a nice touch to the text.
This os a great book to teach children about Albert Einstein. It is verybl easy to understand. I love that it includes prompts to start a discussion. There is also a quiz at the end to test what you learned. I also enjoyed the section at the end that discusses the impact that Albert Einstein has made on the world as we know it.
Charmingly illustrated biography for kids about Albert Einstein. Written in such a way that beginning and young readers can understand and learn about Einstein. He was a brilliant, quirky, peace-loving man. 3.5 stars!
