I have been quite frustrated with this series from CCH on Federal Taxation. Although the most popular series for teaching tax, it is rife with errors, and written so dryly that it makes the source Internal Revenue Code look fascinating by comparison. From edition to edition the typos just seem to get worse, and the cut-and-paste update approach leaves readers stranded with old data and no clear path forward at times. However, the examples throughout the books are for the most part excellent. There's major potential here -- they just need a really thorough edit before releasing any more editions. (The most recent I read was the 2008 edition.)
