A collection of poetry dedicated to anyone who has ever questioned their worth, written by Saniya Kaushal. It covers themes of bullying, name-calling, racism, mental health, judgements, and self-esteem. Saniya Kaushal is a daughter, sister, friend, student, poet, and now author of her first book you are not ugly. She has always dreamed of sharing her heart with the world through writing. Her own experiences growing up, coupled with heartbreak from watching people shatter one another with their words, were the inspiration behind this collection of poetry.
I am a daughter, sister, friend, student, poet, and now author of my first book you are not ugly. I have always dreamed of sharing my heart with the world through writing. My own experiences growing up, coupled with heartbreak from watching people shatter one another with their words, were the inspiration behind this collection of poetry. Born in England and raised in Canada, I am currently attending medical school in Ireland. I adore my family and friends, enjoy baking, watching movies, and of course, writing.
An EXCELLENT book. The poems are very short, but every single one is profound and impactful. I highly recommend to anyone who loves poetry, or wants to love themselves and others a little more.
For anyone who has ever forgotten to love themselves, felt put down by others, and felt lost in this large world, this book is for you. The beauty and kindness the author portrays in each poem will move you more than you would expect. Everyone should read this book! It's definitely my new favorite compilation of poetry.
I don't often connect with poetry, but this book really spoke to me. I'm glad I added it to my book haul as a last minute purchase. Kaushal's words speak truth and are beautifully honest.
