Collared by Love #2

A Master for His Puppy

Rate this book
Every puppy needs a master. Why would Ryder be any different?

Ryder loves Daniel and Luke. The connection that sparked between the three of them the night they met at Collared only grew with each day. He loved playing with Danny, as Daniel preferred to be called when little, and loved nothing more than to please his master, or Daddy as he had taken to calling him. Everything was exactly how he always dreamed it would be—almost.

Luke loved his boy and his pup. He would move heaven and earth to make them happy. With Daniel, he figured out what worked for them years ago and felt confident in that role. With Ryder? That was a different story, especially as they grew closer and closer together. Everything was falling into place exactly how he imagined it—almost.

Daniel is so in love with his daddy and pup, he can hardly contain himself. If only he didn’t sense the growing insecurity his daddy was struggling with. He sets out to show Luke that he is the amazing daddy and master he was and to show both his men how perfectly they fit together. Everything was going as planned—almost.

A Master for His Pup is the second book in the popular MMM romance focused on the true love that blooms between Daniel, Luke, and Ryder. If you enjoy true love, a Daddy and Master who would do anything for those entrusting him with their care, age play, ABDL, puppy play, and watching three men create their family, then this book is for you. It is best to read book one, A Puppy for his Little before reading this continuation of their story.

There was one point in the book where the POV switched mid-chapter, but otherwise, I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the last segment of the story. I think it would have been better to just combine the three books, instead of doing three shorter stories, but at any rate, they are a cute throuple.

Oh Iman definitely has amazing recs. This series has me hooked! The sweet, soft, heart warming love in these scenes combined with hot sex and Daddy taking care of his two boys? Yes. Yes. Yes!! Take all my stars!

I like this book more than the first. The first was more about the introduction of their kinks and preference in pleasure. This second book gives me more development between the trio, about how they wish, and made Ryder as part of them. Ryder has definitely given in more to himself which was great to watch. Seeing him coming out from his shell to be comfortable with what he wants. Im loving Daniel/Danny more and more for his honesty and straightforwardness. He was definitely the row in their relationship pushing them forward. Luke was of course an amazing daddy/master for them both even with his doubts on himself.

A lovely progression of the relationship between these three, and hot AF as a bonus! I wish I could dive right in to seeing them adjust to , but I have other books calling for my attention. (And honestly, if anyone's read the blurb, was that really a spoiler? If you say yes, you're lying to yourself!)

Sex and relationship progression. I like how the three of them interact with each other. The pup play is adorable. I look forward to seeing how this one ends.

Holy formatting, Batman. I’d be willing to bet my life savings this book was drafted and uploaded directly from the notes app. It was HORRENDOUS. The formatting I mean. I’d be reading and a sentence would just drop off.. followed by 2 or 3 lines of empty space only to pick back up again. There were multiple times each word of a sentence had its own line, like this:
“I think
we
should
do that
please.”

That isn’t a direct quote but an exact replica for one of the many styles of formatting issues in this thing. It was WILD. So many times I thought I was going into a new chapter because of them empty space between lines, just to discover it was a formatting error and the same conversation and POV I thought was over picked right back up 🤣

The story itself wasn’t bad. An easy to read follow up no angst to an existing dynamic.

But the formatting. Jfc. It really took the fun and illusion out of everything.

I am not and would not ever in any way be judgmental of those that need and want this lifestyle...actually I'm finding that I am a bit intrigued by it and have the last book of the series. They are short books, novellas actually...but how a single page can possibly hold this much love and respect is a miracle in itself. This, the second in this series picks up where the first left off with Daddy Luke, Boy Danny, and Pup Ryder. I love Ryder when he has his "pup gear" on. Wish there were pictures. We get to "watch" and learn how their relationship is growing and how they are all trying hard and taking it slow to work through their insecurities in this new dynamic. Well, maybe except for Danny. He's been pretty much ready from the start to steamroller them all into their "Happy Ever After". I have come to believe that Danny in the bedroom is exactly like Danny is the courtroom.... full steam ahead. A good touch to the trio was the addition of a couple of orphaned kittens that in total cat fashion took over not only the men's hearts but the entire house. This is a short series and the first that I have read by Della Caine, but thus far have found that she writes a really good endearing and engaging story. You will want, no... you will demand, that the characters find the happiness they're looking for and deserve. The last book is entitled " A Family For His Daddy" ... so I have my fingers crossed.

Sped through this one, again it was too short for me, but the dynamics and interaction between the three main characters more than make up for that. There's something incredibly heartfelt in the way they just take care of one another and understand each other's needs and have each other at the centre of their awareness and I honestly just found it quite healing to read. Again it's like, either it's going to be something you're interested in reading or not, but I definitely feel like this is a comfort series for me.

(I love that I was reading these on my birthday...)

Cute nice continuation of the story. I enjoy this and can't quite remember what I wrote in the first book review so just as a warning, this is a sexual age-play book. Some people will definitely be squeaked out.

I don't mind that though, honestly my only major niggle with this book is their undying and easy confessions of love, mixed with uncertainty of the relationship. It's a little whip lashy.

I'm only telling you these things because I like everything else about the story. It's extremely kinky, very fluffy and has threesome sex! Yes.

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up. This was exactly what I needed. Super sweet, low angst, great exploration of daddy/little/puppy kink. Very spicy, but also wholesome. The reason I can’t rate it higher is the formatting was terrible. Sentences cut in half and random blank pages. This really dragged me out of the story. This didn’t happen just once, it literally happened in every chapter. I don’t see why you’d publish a book that is so messy. There are free formatting websites. Despite that, I did enjoy it and I’ll be reading the final book in this series.

A Master for His Puppy is the second book in the Collared by Love series by Della Cain. In this book the story of Luke, Daniel and Ryder continues. I really liked it and can't wait for the next book.

It was fine. If you liked the first one, you might as well read this one, too. It's about three men in love and there is no cheating or angst.

The only real problem is that it doesn't have much of a narrative drive. It's a continuation of Luke, Daniel/Danny and Ryder's story, so the drive to get them together is gone and now it is about working out their different roles. Except... they just seemed to drift on and by the time I got to the end, I wasn't sure anything had been resolved.

'Aunt' Marion (and I love that Danny calls her that) keeps telling Luke that he is a good Daddy but it never seems to be related to anything he is actually doing - I don't see it. he's not a bad Daddy, it's just that the point of the story is that he is feeling insecure but he doesn't seem to actively do anything about it, just waits for Marion to come in like a fairy godmother and say, "You're an amazing Daddy" and then all is well...

Overall, this was an ok book and I will read the third one to see what it is like. You don't need to read it to complete the series, though.

It’s a fun little novella read. It’s got some good steam to it. My biggest issue comes in I think chapter 20 where the author seems to have forgotten which characters POV she is writing in. It started out as Luke and ended up with Danny. To me that is annoying, it’s happened a few other times, like when Luke had the dream about the kitten and domestic bliss but then Daniel said he had the dream. Those little issues are jarring and take away from the story. But it is still a fun read.

2.5 stars.

The overall story is good, but I wish that it was combined into one book instead of split into three novellas.

Aside from that, there are some formatting issues here; a few errant words, usage of the wrong names, and switching between narrating character in the middle of a paragraph, even though the chapters are labeled with the narrating MCs name.

For a book featuring a puppy and a little as 2/3 of the MC there wasn’t much kink on page. Daniel and Ryder often refer to Luke as Daddy but we only saw one scene with the pup and 1.5 with Danny. Also most of what we learned about how each MC was feeling about the relationship was from the POV of the other characters which was frustrating

Boys going on a vacation at the cabin in the woods - who doesn't want that? I honestly anticipated some sexy adventures in the wilderness, but that birthday celebration lived up to all my hopes!
This series is my first try with Della Cain and her writing is so enjoyable! It flows so easily and is very immersive into the story. I saw the complaints that the dialog is unrealistic (and sure, correlation of a real-life to sexy times is zero to a hundred), but a dialog is not supposed to be realistic in order to be enjoyable, and enjoyable it was! It wasn't cheese or plain, and that's all I can ask for from smutty romance.
This series is in no way a good starting point for a romance, but rather a good recommendation for someone who's already read hundreds of smutty stories and is looking for something new - in this case, polyamorous MMM kinky romance with people in loving and caring relationships.

Ryder loved Daniel and Luke. He loves playing with Danny and he loves pleasing his Master who he calls Daddy. Luke loves his boy and his pup and would move heaven and earth to make them happy. He is confident to be a Daddy to Daniel as they have been together for years but he is not so confident with pup Ryder. Daniel loves his daddy and pup and tries to show that to them both in the best way he can. Can he get Luke to realise that he is great at being there for both of them?

In this novella, it becomes clear that Luke has some doubts about his ability to care for Ryder properly and so needs reassurance the three of them settle more into their roles and start to look at living arrangements and how to solidify their relationship. I enjoyed the look at more practical aspects of their relationship as the sexual side is not everything. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMM book with mature content and a BDSM-like DDLB relationship with ABDL and a D/s relationship with puppy play.

** Please note this is the second book in the series and you need to read them in order.

Menage m-m-m (3rd joining a married couple) erotic romance novella with light kink (age play / DDlb - puppy play) with a HFN conclusion. (2nd in a 3 part series)

A very sweet sequel to the first book, it is very light on the kink but for short, light piece delves more deeply into the menage aspect of the relationship. In particular, it weaves the heat (and bits of little and puppy play) around a focus on Ryder’s addition as a third to an existing married couple.

For readers who like a decent amount of sweet and sympathetic characters with lightly kinky sizzle, it’s a short but nice mix of puppy protagonist, a lightly bratty and brash boy, and the steady Daddy that holds them together.

I liked it!

I liked A Master for His Puppy. I didn't love it as much as the first one only because a couple of times Luke made sure that his husband's little side never made it to the bedroom. What I mean by that is that they made sure to have Danny naked before moving to the bedroom if he had been wearing any of his little clothes or diapers. And he would do this because he said it wasn't Ryker's kink. Just because it isn't his kink doesn't mean they should change for him. If he doesn't like it then he isn't the person for them. He doesn't seem to have a problem with it, but I didn't like how Luke was in essence censoring Danny's kink. I'm still looking forward to the next book in the series when it comes out. I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.

Daddy, Boy and Pup - plus two kittens

Awww! This was the perfect second chapter in this series that picks up with Daddy Luke, Boy Danny, and Pup Ryder. I love reading about how their relationship is growing and how they are all working through their insecurities in this new dynamic. Except for Danny! He's pretty much ready to steamroller them all into their HEA! 😁 Add in a couple of orphaned kittens and this is the sweetest ongoing story. I can't wait to dive into the third one. ❤

I enjoyed this book more than the first. I think knowing to expect a sexual element to the age play in this series made it easier for me to read. Now the men are growing closer and tackling the touch issues or merging all their lives if they want to keep the relationship growing in the right direction. The men are smart about it and know it won't be easy to balance this sort of relationship. Communication is very stressed by the author as a way this is accomplished along with complete honest. I think she did a good job with that. This book really turned into a good read.

Loving this series, 3 MC's in a sexy MMM with unique and lovely personalities, all perfectly imperfect for each other. Can't wait for the 3rd book to come out in July 2020. I'm not usually one for reading a series before it's completely out but each book so far has a sweet ending at that point that is enough and realistic to that point in their relationship, you know the next book will be just as sweet and sexy and take them to the next point.

Collared by Love is more to the romance and love between three people and i am all for it! It is more romance and relationship focused rather than kink focused. Still very enjoyable and the three - Luke, Daniel and Ryder - makes a very cute throuple! This second books focused more on solidifying their relationship making sure they knew how to be a 3-way couple and making sure Ryder doesnt fell left out

So good!

I love this series. Each book we watch the relationship between Luke, Ryder, and Daniel evolve and get stronger. We get to know more about their desires as well as their doubts. What makes these books even better is how well it shows that we all have our own take on kinks. That even with similarities every relationship is different.

This is the second book in the series and I recommend reading them in order. Daddy (Luke), little (Danny) and pup (Ryder) are learning their roles within the relationship as it continues to build. Will Luke discover how he truly belongs in this steamy relationship? Sweet and steamy with loads of drama and great characters. I liked it.
