I fell quickly and deeply in love with Nicholas Moore.

He was my prince charming and I was ready for the happily ever after.

Only he taught me that fairy tales don’t exist.

That love and life can be cruel.

He wasn't the person I thought he was when he kicked me out without warning while pregnant with his child just weeks away from our wedding day.

Now he’s back, begging to be f

I am very surprised I ended up liking this book. I for sure thought that I would not love the groveling or the heroine would give in to easily but that's not the case. The heroine made him work for it and she reacted in my opinion like a strong woman, she didn't forgive him easily and she made him prove that he was a changed man.
Now the reason I gave this 5 stars, THE HEROINE WAS NOT CELIBATE DURING THE SEPARATION, and neither was the hero. For once, there is a book where the heroine actually w

Nicholas Moore thinks his fiancé Alannah cheated when she didn't, so he boots her out, pregnant and heartbroken she makes a good life for herself and her daughter never expecting that one day Nicholas would come to her wanting to know the daughter he denied.

The blurb had me really hesitant to read this, as I thought I'd hate it, luckily it turned out better than expected even if the drama didn't have me drawn in as I had hoped. I liked the fact the heroine wasn't celibate and her life w

It's not easy admitting to like characters that by principle you want to hate. Nick and Alannah are determined to ride roughshod over the heart. Wilder deals with real emotion that is not always beautiful. From misunderstandings to missed opportunities, Making it Right dares to be raw and it's that unpredictability that works in it's favor. ...more

Alannah and Nicholas had a fairtytale start to their relationship. The prologue beautifully describes how they met, and their early months together, living in the beautiful Sydney harbour-side penthouse apartment, up until she tells him that she’s pregnant. And that’s where his sweetness ends. And it’s devastating for her.
Fast forward five years, and Alannah is living on the other side of the country in Perth with their daughter Charlotte (Charlie) - and her mum lives close by for su

If you love second chance and slow burns, then this one is for you. The undeniable chemistry between Nick and Alannah was sizzling.

Nick and Alannah’s story isn’t just about getting back together, there’s many obstacles they must fight through to make it to the other side. The time and patience it took on opening up to one another again, making those walls crumble down, was real and raw emotions you would see in a true relationship.

Charlotte brings comedy relief when needed and does it perfectl

Making it right was my first book that i have read from Helen Wilder and wow it wont be the last.
Not only did the main female character have my Name it was even spelt the same way haha.

I loved the alpha Nick brought to the book and the strength Alannah had

Alannah and Nicholas love story was a crazy roller coaster that had alot of emotions and heart ache.

Nick had alot of issues within him self starting with not knowing his real parents and finding out he had a heart defult that was hereditary f

Now this is a second chance romance that didn’t steer me wrong! After an awful breakup, nick realizes just how wrong he was after a few years. He makes it his mission to get Alannah back and to know his child. There wasn’t OW drama, there wasn’t OTT madness, and there WAS a reason for Nick’s delayed return to Alannah’s life that I honestly wasn’t expecting. This author gave me a great story, a few WTF moments I never saw coming, and realism in the end. It was all so well done.

Making It Right is the first I have read by this author and I really liked it. A second chance with some angst and emotional moments. I wasn't sure how Nick would redeem himself. I was glad Alannah made Nick work hard for it! I loved them. Nick and little Charlie were adorable together. ...more

I’m a big fan of Helens work and she brought this book so much justice. I’m a sucker for second chance romance, and I couldn’t put this book down. The heartache both Nick and Alannah went through you can just feel it. The banner between the two and you add a little sweet yet sassy little girl in the mix and you come with a winner. This book was everything I’d hoped it would be.

This book started with a bang.. Wow did I hate the main character. Then as we drove into the story a lot of things made sense. Still the book was filled with surprises and also parts were your like really...I love the way the author brought out the women's part as strong and still very level headed and truly believed in what she was doing. I felt the author really did try to make him work very hard to win a place back into what he called his family. I really enjoyed learning about both of them a ...more

This is a classic second chance romance, but it knows how to get you "involved" in the story. It's full of emotional moments, so you'll experience the whole package of feelings from love to hate, from tears to smiles.
And of course you'll adore, Charlotte!

Nicholas had to be the meanest guy ever when he sent Alannah away my heart was breaking for her but 5 years have passed so when Alannah sees him for the first time she is cold and standoffish. Nicholas tossed her out with nothing and he spent those years thinking the worst even though he still loved her but when he received news from his doctor he knew he had to find her. I love second chances but I wasn’t so sure Nicholas deserves one and Alannah is a better person than most to even consider it ...more

OMG this book takes forgiveness to the next level. I went in thinking “WHAT?!” how will I ever like Nicholas. He is a “BIG” turd from the beginning. He was so awful to Alannah and I felt spiteful throughout the first part of this book wanting him to get his. How did he redeem himself? He turned into an “AMAZING” father. Adding how hard he had to work for Alannah’s to even tolerate him. She definitely was the bigger person only wanting what is best for her child. The icing on the cake, even thoug ...more
3.5 Stars!!!

I went back and forth a lot whether to give this 3 or 4 stars, feeling like 3 just wasn’t enough to do this book justice and 4 was a little too much, so 3.5 it is! Nick and Alannah were set to get married but a surprise pregnancy put a kink in those plans. Five years later he wants his family back and is determined to do anything to get it. While Alannah believes Charlotte deserves to have a relationship with her father, she isn’t willing to forgive and forget quite so easily. Nick n

This is everything you want in a second chance romance! This is real, raw and beautiful.. We have Nicholas and Alannah who were madly in love, ready to get married but then with a drop of a hat, things fell apart.. Why you ask? A moment that should have been beautiful turned into Alannah's worst nightmare.. Fast forward almost 5 years later, the hurt on both sides is still there and still raw as ever.. Alannah, despite being broken beyond belief and pregnant, picks herself up and lives her life. ...more

After the prologue, the book jumps right into the present time where Nick and Alannah meet again after nearly 5 years. Nick is on a mission to make things right and reclaim his family. I was glad to see Alannah keep her walls up while Nick had no choice but to be patient and persistent in showing her how he had changed. The scenes between Charlie and Nick were cute and sweet, detecting a side of Nick that needed to be seen. The author does a good job of addressing all of the issues between the t ...more

This was an amazing second chance slow burn book. Alannah and Nick had instant chemistry for each other and their relationship was like a fairytale romance and they were heading to the alter, until one morning, where everything changed, and he was kicking her out of their apartment with just the clothes on her back. Alannah was so distraught she left and moved across the country, years pass by and Nick reappears wanting to get his family back. Alannah stays firm about not wanting her heart broke ...more

Nick and Alannah were the perfect couple...until they weren't. This book takes place five years after their fairy tale romance, which ended after a revelation that had Nick misunderstanding all he knew about the relationship. Now Nick is back, and he wants Alannah, his child, and a her forever. Understanding, of course there are a lot of obstacles in their way, such as forgiveness, relatives, etc.
As much as I hate angst, I do like that Allanah makes Nick work for her heart. I also like that she

So good! So in the beginning of this story, Nicholas and Alannah are getting ready to get married but Alannah tells Nick something and doesn’t believe her. He tosses her out on the street and never hears from him. So she goes home to her Mom and loves and heals from all the hurt Nick has done. After 5 years he goes to Alannah but all the pain and hurt that he causes comes back and she can’t keep him away. It just isn’t right but they have a lot to talk about. I didn't read the blurb before I started, so reading about Nicholas early, I didn't expect him to be the H. He was definitely in my eyes the villain. It didn't take much for me to dislike him. I guess this book shows that most people deserve a second chance. It didn't come easy and I'm glad Alannah didn't give in right away. This story moved in directions I had no idea was coming. I really enjoyed the story, though. ...more

This was such a heartbreaking beautiful second chance romance. There were so many emotions in this great story, anger, hurt, betrayal, trust, loyalty, forgiveness and love. I couldn't stop reading until I finished this wonderful, sweet, thrilling, yummy love story. I'm so glad that Alannah made Nick work for his forgiveness and not give in right away. Loved this story and I can't wait to read more. ...more

I did enjoy this book up to a point. I liked that Alannah wasn’t a doormat and just fell back into Nick’s arms. They had a lot of issues that kept popping up but she made him work for her trust again. The only complaint I had was that the story seemed to drag here and there but all in all an enjoyable read.

I did enjoy this book to a certain point in the book. I liked that Alannah wouldn't let anyone walk all over her . They had a lot of issues that kept popping up but she made him work for her trust again (which I am not fond of). This is only one of the complaints I had. The story was dry and sort of dragged on for me. ...more

How he acted. I wanted him to prove himself. He more than did. His and Allanahs story is touch but sweet. They have many obstacles and it makes them stronger. Charlie is such a cute character too!
