Set in Nigeria, A Little Bit of Love’s Magic is a sweet f/f contemporary romance with traditional African magic/mysticism. When Noura tells her friend how she doesn’t love her boyfriend of five years, she convinces her to see a traditional doctor who gives her a solution where the first person she sees after using the soap will be her soulmate. I liked the two main characters and the struggle for them to get to the happily ever after felt realistic without being traumatizing. So many other novels have such flimsy barriers to love. This was an actually interesting one to read. Could have had more memorable desire between the characters--I remember very little about the relationship a few months after reading--but all the su ...more
