I don’t want you.
You mean nothing to me.
I never loved you.

I turned my words into swords.
And I cut her down. Shoved the blade in and watched her fall.

I said I’d never hurt her, and I did.

Years later, I’m faced with all the little lies, the untruths, the false realities, the damage I inflicted, when all I wanted was to indulge my obsession.

Lavender Waters is the prince

This book was so different than most Helena Hunting books, but in a good way. I loved the emotional and angsty story of Lavender Waters and Kodiak Bowman. If you've read the 'Pucked' series, Lavender is Alex and Violet's daughter, and Kodiak is Rook and Lainey's son from 'A Lie for a Lie'. Though having the parent's background is great and imo adds a lot to the book, this can most definitely be read as a stand alone.

Lavender and Kodiak used to be really close friends. In fact, Kodia

A romance filled with angst, between two individuals with internal struggles and demons that with time learn to cope with and without each other...

Oh goodness gracious... my poor, delicate heart... it handled all and everything that H. Hunting aka the queen Helena Hunting was able to throw my way. This book is everything and all that I needed and was looking for, yet not anticipating. I knew that diving in, I felt that this novel would be beyond different in comparison to Helena's other nove

this book really made me realize how ✨desensitized✨ i truly am when it comes to new adult heroes' "assholery" because when the dude was horrible to the heroine? i was like

is- is it me?
is it the copious amounts of new adult books i've read?
is it the characters and their lack of ~spice~ ?
is it the fact that i've read worse "asshole" characters and the dude here is just- meh?

because suddenly... his assholery was MILD (at best). i know i shouldn't compare but... i'm wayyy more of an asshole towards

So this was one my highly anticipated read of the month. I was really excited for it because of the hype regarding how I need to get my tissues ready, how people who normally don’t cry, cried while reading this book. And the teasers omg they were amazing especially the one where Lavender was all like “you think you deserve my kiss now”. I was ready for some strong female lead giving shit to the guy after he fucked things up.

And then I started reading the book

Without a doubt, one of my favorite Helena books ever! Like tears in my eyes, clutching my heart angst. I love them. I love their story. Their journey was beautiful and profound and hopeful.

Lavender stole the show for me. She was brave and smart, and more than anything, watching her evolve into a strong heroine is a phenomenal experience. She has all the best parts of Alex and Violet, but what I love most about her character is how Hel

Lavender Waters grew up the daughter of a hockey legend, and was always the one that was a bit different. She seemed to feel things more intensely than others, and was shy and awkward. Now she's nineteen and a sophomore at a new school in Chicago. She's living with her two overprotective brother's and trying to fit in on campus. They still treat her like a delicate flower made of glass, and she wants to

I don't even know how to start this review other than I'm. Obsessed.

I'm obsessed with Lavender, with Kodiak, with BJ, with River, with Violet as a mom (OMG she's perfect!), with this new side of Helena Hunting that makes me cry my eyes out! (Not cool, lady!)

This book is about soulmates...
Soulmates that are broken and damaged.
Soulmates that identify themselves too soon, and didn't know what to do with that connection, other then rely their fears on each other, since they're just kids.

Lavender and Kodiak.
We all know their parents from the Pucked and All In series.
Kodiak's dad is still playing hockey and Lavender's dad is the coach. So all the team's kids are basically growing up together as besties and cousins.
At least that's how it is in the prologue. When Lavender is six years old - and Kodiak is nine.
Lavender has always been extremely shy. Her twin brother River talks for her most of the time.
One night something happens that makes Lavender close up even more.
And then we fa

”We see what we want to, not the truth, especially when it hurts.”

Little Lies is Helena Hunting’s dive into the angsty new adult world with the pen name H. Hunting. Lavender and Kodiak’s story was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions. We follow them in their past, and we also get them presently. We navigate from their closeness as children and learn the things that bond them, and we also learn about what eventually tore them apart. Then, we get to see if they can get past Kodiak’s less than st

I want to save her from her demons, and me from mine. But they always catch up. No matter how hard we try to outrun them.

I love Helena's contemporary romances, but I'm a sucker for some angst. So when I saw she's realizing an angsty New Adult under a different pen name, well I'm pretty sure I left dust tracks in my rush to sign up for this book.

I'm also a sucker for a good spin-off, so the fact that these are the kids from Pucked and A Lie for a Lie was just icing on the cake

One of the most wanted wishes I have when reading series that have wonderful characters, strong continuing/interlocking books, and cute children produced by the main characters...are books about these children once they are grown. Little Lies does just that.

We have Alex and Violet's daughter, Lavender, from the Hockey series Pucked. We then get from A Lie for a Lie, Kodiak, the Son of Rook and Lainey. These were children we knew from these past

I knew as soon as Helena Hunting announced that she was writing Lavender Waters’ book that we would be getting a different style of story than what she normally writes. I will say I am usually not a big fan of next generation books because it feels kinda weird like oh I watched your parents fall in love and have you and now you’re all grown up and having sexual kinks of your own. But honestly this is a generation I didn’t really mind.

Lavender Waters has tried her best to not think about her former best friend Kodiak Bowman after he hurt her years ago but when they both are going to the same college, live just a few doors down from each other and his best friend

First Day Fuckery
LAVENDER

Present day, age 19

“HEY, LAV!” MY brother’s fist slams against the bathroom door, and half a second later it flies open, scaring the living shit out of me as it bashes into the wall.
I jab myself in the eye with my mascara wand, and coffee sloshes down the front of my white tank. I was attempting to multitask. I should know better. “Ow! What the hell, Mav!” I cover my burning eye with my palm and drop my mug in the sink. The handle breaks off. “Goddammit! That

What a page-turner! Hunting has crafted a stellar young adult romance that pulled on my heartstrings in such a way I found Little Lies impossible to put down. Although there’s a large cast of characters, the author has made sure that there is no confusion for the new reader. However, if you haven’t read The Pucked or All In series, I can’t recommend either of them enough.

Move over Vi, there’s a new female waters taking over!

Lavender waters has my whole entire heart. This girl is something incredible, she’s perfectly imperfect and I love the bones of her! Watching her growth into the strong independent woman she is has been phenomenal. Her struggles are relatable, they’re real and I love that Helena added these and shows just how real they can be.

The main issue is it didnt know what kind of book it wanted to be. It tried to do dark and comedic, bully and friends to lovers, erotic and NA etc

I didnt even understand what their issues were because it was talked about so vaguely in terms of their anxiety and being toxic. Maybe I didnt care enough to figure it out, idk. All of a sudden they were just fixed.

Nothing moved me here it’s the same old collage romance novel that didn’t even have any type of chemistry between the main characters.

The hate to love aspect was done poorly and the excuse of why he was being mean to her has been used many times in other books.

I don’t understand the big connection everyone in the book saw between the main characters. There was no connection.

Hands down, this book is one of my most favorite reads by Helena Hunting, writing here for the first time under H. Hunting. After falling in love with the Clipped Wings series in 2016, I was subconsciously waiting for another story by her that's going in this direction. And here I am, 4 years later my wish came true.

The Pucked series is one of my all time favorite hockey romances, with Violet being an all time top fictional character for me. Then Helena brought us the All in series where we met new characters to love while getting to keep our old favorites and the start of the Next Gen.

Lavender Waters captivated my interest from the first time you meet her as a shy anxious 4 year old in the All In Series...and let me tell you, getting to know her as a young adult o
