I always mark my books as "read" when I finish the final draft. This is my first adult/NA contemporary romance, and the first book I've completed in almost two years. It was born from a difficult time in my life and turned out to be such a healing adventure. I hope each of you will feel as happy and satisfied as me when you read it. xoxoxo Hugs and kisses, sweeties!!
The world was my oyster, and damn it, I would find my pearl someday.

When Wendy started giving us little snippets and teasers that she was writing a new book, my inner Sweetie was absolutely bursting with excitement. Wendy is one of the few authors that I've been following for years now (since about 2012), and this book was a great testament as to why I still love and come back to her writing. Her prose is clean and not overly fluffed out but still manages to pull you in, while Harlow was som

Sorry, I completely forgot I didn't update Goodreads but this was the review:

I loved our main character. First of all, I loved that she was both a teacher and a flight attendant, I thought that was something that gave us a super interesting perspective and I loved seeing the insight of her work and career.

She was someone extremely innocent and a bit frustrating to read, with one of the most amazing character journeys

OMG you guys! I can’t even put into words how much I loved this book!! Thank you so much Wendy for the ARC.

Harlow Robinson abandoned her teaching degree in order to get away and became a flight attendant after breaking off her engagement with her long time boyfriend. The flight attendant life isn’t all that glamorous that everyone thinks it is. Low pay, angry passengers when something’s wrong... cleaning up puke? But she’s doing it... to try and live her best - single - life. But even in an apa

Heaven help me if anything ever happens to my husband and I have to start dating again. Honestly I think I’d just die alone. Online dating is no joke! This book goes through a lot of the funny stuff people have to deal with and how hard it can be to find someone good out there. I can’t say much without giving away the plot but I absolutely loved the way this story ended up. In the beginning I was seeing all kinds of red flags for Harlow but she ended up just where she needed to be. If you are a ...more

The first half of the book was a mess for me, although I liked that the main character dated more than one guy, I didn’t like the guys at all. I didn’t like the way in which Harlow talked about other girls, aside from her close friends.
The second half got better, mainly thanks to Silas, and Harlow getting rid of captain asshole. That man is the main reason for the two stars, I swear he made me cringe all the time.

This book had a lot of potential, Harlow was a good character, the story was inter

Fun, flirty, and full of feels!

Wendy strikes the perfect balance between sexy and sweet with this one. Harlow's journey is not only enjoyable, it's relateable too, and I would loooooove to see each of her "girls" get their own HEA.

SPARKS is one romantic flight you won't soon forget!

I think this is one of those books where it's better you go in blind, so this review will be brief.

Our heroine, Harlow, is a flight attendant and we basically follow her journey stepping into the dating world. This was a good balance of real, sweet and sexy, and I stayed up late in the night to finish it because I just couldn't stop.

So, why not five stars then? A few of the choices Harlow made I just couldn't understand. She's a very strong, independent character - she's also very kind, and ju

This book was very disappointing, as I've come to enjoy Wendy Higgins and to expect relatively clean romances from her. While she does sometimes go into what I thought of as gratuitous sex scenes, they have always been in the context of marriage, at least. I only knew her to use cussing in one of her books, and it was from the point of view of a foul-mouthed character; after reading the clean version of the series, I felt that it was justified, and would have actually been strange if that charac ...more

Wendy does it again....

I love all of Wendy's books and this one was no different!!

I am not a writer of reviews but considering I stayed up late, snuck in reading at work and just devoured this book in hours I needed to tell everyone to READ IT!!!!

I had all the feels - laugh out loud, want to punch a character in the face ...and a little swooning

I will be reading again and again. Enjoy!

I’m not really a romance gal. Sometimes I’ll get my fix on it or satisfy an itch by reading something quick, something subpar.

This book was not subpar. It was incredible start to finish. The characters had so much life and the development they go through was inspiring.

Wendy gifted me this copy early and I devoured it in just a few hours. Everything about it had me thinking and reeling with emotions I didn’t know it would make me feel.

Harlow is so relatable and everything she goes through is i

I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.

I am so so so glad I got a chance to read this book early! Ever since it was first announced, I've been waiting very impatiently for its release, and let me tell you, it would have been worth the wait.

This is a very real, very powerful book. Harlow is like every normal woman in the world. She is trying to figure out her life; stuck in a time in her life when she is not sure of anything. She knows she wants the end goal o

Do you want my honest opinion? I guess that is what book reviews are for, eh?

First off, Wendy is super sweet and I love the Sweet Evil series. Met her when she came to St. Louis and I totally fan girled the whole day before even meeting her.

Full honesty:
Okay so my first impression of the synopsis was meh and I was so sad because I really enjoy Wendy's writing. Then came the name and I know she was throwing out a few on social media, but none of them piqued my interest. After reading the book, it

Sparks by Wendy Higgins had me laughing out loud, screaming at my phone, and in tears as we ride her rollercoaster of a book! To say it is amazing is an understatement.

Harlow Robinson hit reset on her life when she left her engagement and joined Omega Skies as a flight attendant. Wow ♥️

This was my first WH novel and now I’m trying to figure out where she’s been all of my life?!

This was a super sweet, sexy and satisfying RomCom that I never knew I needed! I’ll be honest when I say that this is not generally my preferred genre and picked up whilst going through a fantasy hangover but I will forever be glad I did!

Harlow is a completely relatable character going through the rough sea of finding not only herself but not losing herself within a relationship she so desp

I'm so glad I picked this one up. I've started about 6 books over the course of the last week, get between 75 and 100 pages, and my attention is still waiting to be captured. On a whim, I started Sparks because I'd been meaning to check it out. Wendy is a friend and when I found out she was writing a contemporary romance (series, I think?) that feature a flight attendant and her (mis)adventures in the dating scene, I was excited. I got the itch for travel starting last year and it has only gotte ...more

This was my first Wendy Higgins book and, if the rest of her books are like this, I’m gonna be kicking myself for not reading her sooner.

Romance with just the right amount of heartache and angst. I’ll admit my stomach was in knots at quite a few parts. I had no idea how this was going to proceed. I was getting nervous that this was going to end up a chick lit and Harlow would end up learning how to alone and happy with just herself, which was not how I pictured a romance! ;) But I held on and t

4.5☆ I honestly didn't really know what to expect from Sparks, but I knew I was excited for it because it's Wendy Higgins. It was packed with lots of emotion, humor, and plot twists. It was actually a little refreshing to not know who Harlow was going to end up with, it kept it very interesting, and therefore, kept me sucked in. I felt like I went with Harlow on her journey to find love and through all her ups and downs. She was easy to like and root for; I really wanted her to find her happily ...more

Hmm I liked it but I guess I had too high expectations and I prefer it when the heroines aren't so... Nice? I like when they are more vindictive I guess, but I understand that the heroine was just a better person than me. In all honesty I didn't connect with her. The whole deal with Shawn never sat right with me, and I was a little frustrated with her for not being more firm with him. And another thing, why was every (alright, not every, but every potential romance candidate) male character in t ...more

This book has me torn and thinking about it for days after. There were many parts that I absolutely loved and couldn’t put down. But there was also parts that I was like wait what?!

The main character was really great and intriguing! I loved that she was going out on her own trying to figure out what she wants in life and I loved her group of roommates! Each one brought something unique and wonderful to the story.

There’s some twists and turns and that’s where I struggled with how I felt about i

I loved it!!! I was excited to read this before it was released, and it did NOT disappoint! Being a huge fan of her other books, I love her style of writing, and the way she builds her characters.

I felt a rollercoaster of emotions reading it, as I got so invested in the MC, Harlow (what a babe btw). Lots of ups and downs on her journey. So relatable too! I love the strong female friendships throughout.

I would definitely recommend!! The story was brilliant, and some really hot scenes too!

I did not expect to get so attached and so invested in this novel. I mean, I was “throw the book down and take a deep breath” invested in this novel! I had a preference for Harlow and I was shipping it SO SO SO hard. I found myself wanting to get on our MC’s level and give her some real advice. This book is not a romance book where the end goal is for the girl to end up with the guy. Even though there were times when it felt like it might take a turn in that direction. I was pleasantly surprised ...more

From the moment I met this wonderful author I cried so hard because of how Happy I was to met her! She is not only the sweetest lady but also an AMAZING author, mother and woman! I would give 6 stars if I could. It's not often a romance writer strays from the formulaic. But Wendy Higgins pushes the story and I'm always pleasantly surprised.
I go right along for the ride, smiles, tension and sometimes a few tears. But it always ends unexpectantly and I'm much more satisfied in the end.
And, the romance part is off the charts without severe language and shock. Just the right amount to get the imagination working overtime.

Just the Rom Com I Needed

Ugh where do I begin? This book had it all. I felt like I was Harlow the whole time I read it. Her thoughts became my emotions. I could not predict who Harlow would end up with and am so happy with her decision. The moments with her roommates are so hilarious and I laughed out loud so many times I must’ve looked like a crazy fool. I highly recommend! I definitely want to read more of Wendy Higgins!

Sweet and Funny

I’m a big fan of Wendy Higgins and her first book in 2 years does not disappoint. It is so incredibly accurate of dating in the age of internet, and all the surprises that brings. This story had me laughing and hoping for the perfect end. I read this in one sitting, I just had to know what would happen! Perfect journey for a cool summer evening.

This isn’t your typical romance book. This is a story about finding yourself and being true to who you are. It’s not at all what I expected. Great characters who have lots of layers to peel away. A fun supporting crew and a sneak up on you romance. Some amazing sexy times and comical moments too. You really get it all with this one.
