If you love small towns and quirky characters, check out Lynne Gentry's new Women of Fossil Ridge series: #1 Flying Fossils
This girl who grew up on a Kansas dairy farm never wanted to be a writer, but she has always been a storyteller. Her mother called it "Selling wind in a bag." Lynne started out writing plays and skits. Then in a moment of sheer insanity, she decided to take a stab at writing full-length novels. Reinventing Leona was her first and it is no longer in print. The Carthage Chronicles are her time travel/sci-fi series. The Mt. Hope Southern Adventures series starting with WALKING SHOES and The Women of Fossil Ridge series starting with FLYING FOSSILS are her contemporary romantic comedy series. And GHOST HEART and PORT OF ORIGIN are part of her Agents of Mercy Medical Thriller series.
Lynne can milk a cow, drive a tractor, organize a banquet, prepare a kid for that first professional acting audition, or sit across the table and enjoy a cup of coffee with you.
She loves spending time with her family and medical therapy dog.
Who doesn't? This wonderful, fun and emotional story is a page turner. I have read every book in the series and I have loved every one. This book features Maddie and Parker. Oh, how I love Parker. He is so sweet and loving. He is absolutely precious. If you love a fun, southern romance, then you will love this book. I really, really, really hope this isn't the end of the series. I have fallen in love with every character in Mt. Hope. They feel like family.
Lynne Gentry writes an interesting series about the family of a pastor who died in the pulpit in the first chapter of the first book in the series. It highlights a different character in each book and this is the final book in the series so far. As Guatemala, where I spent a few years as a missionary comes into the book, and in other books in the series, I particularly enjoyed this part. But I do wish that the author knew that Central America and South America are not the same. Guatemala is in Central America. It is not in South America.
I have loved this series by Lynne Gentry. I appreciated her focus on each of the family members as they grappled with the passing of their pastor father and changes in their lives. These are light and quick reads, but not without some substance and certainly made me think about the things that happen in our lives, and how the love of people who are close to us can carry us through the most difficult of times.
The end of a series is always sad. But the characters are so realistic that you know they live on. Lynne as written a beautiful story in four installments. Enjoy the humor. Learn how to face life struggles and as always she says success comes in getting up trying again when you fall.
I have truly enjoyed the Harper's journey in this series. Not only the Harper's but the inhabitants of MT Hope, have become dear. You may respond to that by reminding me they are only characters in a book.....but I will tell you this story pulled me in until I feel as though I personally know them. Don't miss this series
From Ted high heels to baby shoes this has been a I can't wait for the next book series.
A lot of times what is advertised as Christian fiction, disappoints. This whole series does not. From a Pastor wife trying to please a town, to the daughter who will do it her way, it shoes God's calling to everyone.
I was so excited to read Baby Shoes; the last in the series. I only hope there might possibly be another in the series. These are good, faith based books. I loved them all
I love Lynne Gentry as an author. This last book tells Maddie's story/struggles as she figures out what to do as a Dr. It has an HEA which is perfect to end the series. I don't see how anyone who buys this series can't like all the stories.
I have read these 4 books so quickly because they are amazing stories . In Lessons of family, love and mostly God's love . The faith and prayers of challenges so deep by friends just brightened my spirit . I'm on to the next story in this well written series.
This was a fantastic 4th book in the series! I've been enjoying getting to know the heartwarming characters in this Contemporary Christian fiction saga. I was able to read a copy of this book via Nook, but it did not in any way affect my review. All opinions are my own.
This is a very enjoyable and inspiring story. Forgiveness is what it takes to heal broken relationships. That is seen throughout this story. The Harper family needs forgiveness to proceed with their lives. Great job of writing, Lynne.
This is my favorite kind of book! Simple, predictable, easy, happily ever after! I love southern characters like these and the silly things that they get into.
I loved the answered questions from the previous book. I wish the misspelled words, misplaced words and incorrect grammar here and there didn’t bother me… but they did. Enjoyable read.
