If you want a book that will shame you, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re expecting a child and not married, unfortunately this isn’t the book for you. There should be a note on the front that says you’re only allowed to read this if you are in a heterosexual MARRIAGE since the text only refers to wives and husbands who want to conceive or have conceived. It preaches that humans were not meant to even THINK about coming together sexually before being “spiritually tied together”. A completely outlandish statement given the fact that sexuality is a part of human nature and there are many many many children that are blessed into this world in other types of relationships, but I digress…
In addition, “Dr.” Frank Lake takes it upon HIMSELF to blame mental and physical health problems on mothers’ emotions during pregnancy. I’m so glad to know that Dr. Lake believes women who have had miscarriages asked for it because they weren’t “joyful” enough during pregnancy or “hate themselves”.
If you are a couple struggling with infertility, Francis has a prescription for you! In chapter 3, he refers to prayers as the way to treat infertility. In his church, this has “almost always” worked for couples who have been struggling to conceive so much so that they almost always gave birth 9 months after the prayer. I am comforted to know that Francis completely disregards ovulatory disorders, structural abnormalities of reproductive systems, endocrine disorders, problems with sperm production or quality, and hormone disorders.
These are just a few examples of why this book will make you absolutely miserable!

Good read for moms and dads to be. I've always advocated on praying for one's baby during womb time and had done so for all of my children. It bonds the parents with the baby before the birth and stresses the importance of praying together as a family. Many good blessings to expect by opening our hearts to praying for our unborn children. The study in the book pointed out that only 1% of Christian parents pray for their unborn which is a shocking statistic.

My wife and I read this book out loud over the course of a month or so, and found it to be reassuring and interesting.

the subject and content is very important to consider and discuss with your spouse throughout the pregnancy. I know this was written many years ago so many things could use updating.. but overall it was great. the husband and wife authors share their experiences and other's testimonies as they have prayed about their own births, fears about birth etc etc. I would recommend this book to other people for sure and will likely read it again with my next pregnancy :)

This book was suggested to me after I had my first child and had suffered 2 miscarriages. I was so devastated and scared I would never have another child. There is a chapter dealing with this. After getting alone with God in the middle of the night when everyone else was asleep, I was able to get everything out to God in prayer, let my heart break and let Him heal me. I went on to have two more precious children and I know I have two precious babies waiting for me in Heaven.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It is such a powerful reminder of many spiritual truths of how everything matters in the process of preparing for, finding personal healing and praying over every detail of your little baby's life. I want to give a copy of this to every human being I know... and those I don't, even if you are still single and WANT to have a baby someday!
