Gypsy's Curse #3

Visions of Triumph

Rate this book
In the end, love rules all.

An ancient curse may have foretold their meeting, but Skye doubts even her ancestors could have predicted the suffering she and Lucas would face at the hands of their enemy.

Kidnapped, tortured, and cut-off from everyone, it won’t be long before the bright spark of love keeping Skye alive burns out.

Lucas won’t give up his search until he saves her, but Skye hopes he never finds her. If he does, the one vision she’s been trying to stop will finally come to fruition. She would give anything, including her life, to keep that from happening.

The stakes are higher than ever before, and the only thing standing in the Druid’s way is the man Skye can’t afford to lose.

***Visions of Triumph is book 3 in The Gypsy’s Curse series (previously the Cursed Hearts series) and was previously released as Supernova.***

Recommended for ages 18+ due to adult language, content, and scenes with graphic violence.

I voluntarily reviewed an early copy of this book :) this is the third and final installmet in a paranormal / urban fantasy trilogy, so writing this review will be a bit tricky :) mostly, because I try to keep them always spoiler free, so you guys can read them even if you are not familiar with the world or the previous stories set in it... but in this case all three books are telling one, big and very connected story, so there's no way for me to share my opinion about this last installment without sharing some details... so here's what we're gonna do :) in the next paragraph I will tell you a bit more about the world, the overall plot and some more about our main characters :) all of that will be safe to read for those of you who are new to the series, because there won't be any spoilers there :) then in the third and last paragraph, I will share my opinion about this conclusion, and that one will include spoilers about the first two books, so if you are not caught up, just don't read it :) now that everything is clear, let's get into the good stuff :)

Like I mentioned before, this is a sort of paranormal / urban fantasy story set in our world, but with some magical twists... ;) all three books tell a story about one group of characters, and all of that started when Lucas, a Chicago detective, met during an art exhibition a mysterious woman, Skye... ;) what he didn't know at the time is that Skye is a Seer, which means she sees visions of people dying... they are prompted by the smallest things, like a touch of the hand... that's the reason she keeps to herself, avoiding others... which is totally understandable... but something is different when they meet, and neither of them knows how much the other will change their lives... there's not much more I can tell you if you are completely new to the series, because we don't know much at the very beginning of the story... all throughout that first installment certain things are revealed about our main couple... :) so forgive me for being vague :) the whole series is written by two authors, but their styles blend together seamlessly, and you can't really tell that two different people wrote it :) it's fast paced and entertaining, with quite a few surprising twists and turns along the way ;) I adored the banter and chemistry between Skye and Lucas... plus the connections between them and the secondary characters, that I can't name right now, because they are not obvious from the start ;) that being said, I recommend you guys to check out this trilogy :) it's a great written story, that will pull you in from the start and keep you on your toes :) now that we have the spoiler free part out of the way, if you are not familiar with the first two books, this is the moment to stop reading my review :)

Seriously guys, LAST WARNING, spoilers about the first two books will appear in this paragraph... I will be talking about some major surprises and turns from the previous stories, so you are reading the rest of this review kowing that... :) ok, I assume that all of you who are still with me already read the first two stories... or don't mind being spoiled about some pretty big things... so we pick up right where we left off, with Skye being taken by the Druid... although because of the letter she wrote before he took her, Lucas thinks at first, that she abandoned them... it's a whole complex and messy situation, that we don't have time to unpack in more details right now... it takes Lizzie's conviction to shake the guys a bit, and to push them in the right direction... this whole book is basically one action after another, with quite a few twists I did not see coming... our group of characters does their best to first rescue Skye and then to defeat Druid once and for all... obviously, I can't tell you more about what happens in this installment... and trust me... it's a lot... ;) but I think it was a really good ending to the whole series :) we got answers to a lot of questions and even got a little glimpse into the future ;) so if you are in the mood for a paranormal story with sarcastic banter, full of action, I definitely recommend you to check this series out :)

XOXO

I would give this book more than five 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars. I couldn't put it down. I read it in 3 days! And to be honest,  I would read more of this story if there was more.

Lucas and Skye have been through hell and back and I was amazed how Jessica Wayne and Meg Anne wrote such a twist riddled story. I couldn't have anticipated every turn that happened in SUPERNOVA. For me, it was a whirlwind of emotions. I CRIED reading for the first time in years and I didn't expect it.

Honestly, the way Skye was suffering through most of the book will have any normal person horrified. I wanted to help her, I wanted to hug her and wipe her tears and I wanted to get her out of there as soon as possible. But all I could do was keep reading and hoping that when I turn the page, it will bring good news.  However, as an Author myself,  I praised both these ladies for creating such an amazing emotional book. And back and forth, I went between praise and feeling powerless as a mere reader to help.

Lucas and Skye had to fight for their lives. Literally. It was a battle like no other, Lucas' sanity was tested to a breaking point and at some point even I was not sure if I was going crazy along with him or not. But, you know what? In a way, no matter how strange it may seem but I felt like if he doesn't get out of this mess, I might just fall through the pages and join him. But then again, this proves how talented, creative, diverse these two authors are. The Fantasy  Romance is huge which gives room for all kinds of stories and characters. I was amazed at how real and captivating the world of these characters became for me.

The book series itself  is enchanting,  there is no other word to describe it. The secrets,  the magic, the curse put on love, the sacrifice, it all just immersed me in the Series and by the time that book 3 came out, I was aching to find out what happened to Lucas and Skye. The series made me feel like I was a part of the action even though at times I did not want to be. But as the saying goes, "if you want to understand happiness,  you need to feel the sadness first," that's what I feel truly describes this series. I applaud both Jessica Wayne and Meg Anne. I do hope that they create something new  together again,  whether it be a continuation of The Cursed Hearts Series or something else but I will surely read it.

This is the final instalment in Jessica Wayne and Meg Anne’s Cursed Hearts Series and honestly, it was incredible. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next after the way they ended Amria, but they managed to handle Skye’s disappearance amazingly. Seriously, these two authors have such incredible talent alone, but when they are together their talent is just way too high…. Once you get a taste of their writing, you can’t help but just want more and this book they did such an amazing job with the journey they took the characters on. The twists and turns that they threw at us were incredible and they had such a huge impact on the story. I couldn’t find a single fault with the story, the plot flowed together nicely and the characters were just right. The only thing I will say is that, I would have liked to have had more of what happened in the end, I would have like to have seen how the characters coped after everything they went through. We only got a brief look at it, but I would have liked a bit more, other than that, they both did an amazing job.

Lucas is worried about what he’s going to do when it comes trying and defeating the druid that’s after them… Now with the family secrets all out in the open, it’s not as easy as it should be because a lot has changed. Skye’s currently no where in sight, but after finding the note that she left him, he has no idea that she’s actually disappeared against her will….. Lizzie seems to be the only one who has faith in Skye, but she knows they need to find her in order to take down the Druid. Will it be too late for them to get to her or will they succeed and finally take him down for good? There’s a lot at stake and there’s more secrets that are about to unfold for them all.

I have come to love Skye, Lucas and Lizzie during the last two books, so I needed to know how it would all play out in this last book of the trilogy. As you can tell from the blurb, Skye is kidnapped and needs to be saved in this book.

Supernova is a very intense conclusion to this trilogy. There are so many emotions! These authors did an amazing job making me really feel what these characters were feeling. In the beginning of this trilogy it was hard for Lucas and Lizzie to even accept what Skye was trying to tell them. Now they see her as when of their own and will do anything they need to find her!

There is a lot of action in this story. Finding Skye, chasing the Druid, figuring out how to break a curse. It's all done in one book! I don't want to spill too many details for the people who need to get caught up of course, but you'll definitely want time to give this book your full attention. That being said, because so much had to happen in the final installment, things felt a bit quick at times! And that's the only negative thing I have to say about this book. I just want more!

On top of a lot of action, some pretty fun information about Druids and spells, an amazing setting (who wouldn't want to live there?) and great characters, these authors make their story a bit more unique by adding some family history to it all. I love the things they learn on their journey and how shocked they are to figure out they're more connected to everything than they realize.

Besides the action and family aspect, I loved the romance between Skye and Lucas, but also between Lizzie James. Those parts of the story had me smiling. They all just fit together so perfectly! I could really rant about this book, but all I can say is that I'm very happy with this ending. There is even some girl power in the end that I didn't expect!

I'm sad that the story of these characters is finished, but I'm happy I got to be along for the ride! Believe me when I see you need to pick up this trilogy! You won't regret it at all!

This is the third book in the Cursed Hearts series, and you most definitely need to read Star-Crossed (Cursed Hearts Book 1) and Amria (Cursed Hearts Book 2) before reading this book. The fearsome foursome - Skye Giovanni, Lucas MacConnell, James Matthews and Lizzie MacConnell – are in a fight for their lives.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this series! Ms. Anne and Ms. Wayne did a fantastic job with these characters! I was sucked in from the first page to the last. There was a lot of mystery and suspense, twists and turns, and tears of pain and joy, which kept me glued to my kindle.

Skye and Lucas, as well as all the other characters need to find a way to stop that darn Druid, (who happens to be Lucas’s grandfather), from killing them all in order to maintain his power. He is up to no good and will test the powers of both Skye and Lucas, and try to tear apart Lizzie and James. This is one epic battle between good and evil, light and dark!

Bravo ladies on a series that is simply fantastic! I highly recommend this series!

The excitement and energy in this read doesn't cease until the last page. This trilogy was amazing, nothing was missed. High in action and magic, druids and seers and of course those that have no magic. But with Skye missing and Lucas down in the dumps it's gonna take a miracle to get her back and beat the druid. Well books are where miracles happen especially with magic. There is intrigue and times to hold your breath and cry for the pain imposed. There are times to worry that Lucas and Skye may loose their minds before they can win and yup visitors thought long lost will return. It's all hands on deck to issue the final blow and make sure Lucas doesn't go to the dark side. These two authors have pooled their inner voices into a readers dream and with amazing results. Your heart will break, your kindle may be in jeopardy, and in the end you'll be singing their praises and be back in your happy place, after you catch your breath.

Carla's Five Star Review

Supernova picks up right where book two left off. It is set in Scotland where Lucas, Skye, and their companions come together to try and defeat the druid once and for all.

Wow just Wow! What an awesome conclusion to a series filled with magic, wonder, awe and suspense! The story line in this final book is a little darker than the previous books, and, at times, it is difficult to read what poor Skye and Lucas have to endure. The stakes in this power struggle couldn't be higher as the druid nears his ultimate goal leaving just one question. In the end, will good triumph over evil?

If you haven't read this amazing series, you really are missing out. One click it now!

Read with Kindle Unlimited.
This series definitely needs to be read in order, this continues where book 2 left off. But what a great conclusion to this series. I was sucked into the book, & couldn't put it down. This does have some serious vibes for quite a bit of the story & even an occasional tear or snuffle for the couple & all they were going thru physically & emotionally (but definitely not a Kleenex inducing ugly cry). I really liked Skye & Lucas, even his sister Lizzie & Matthews. It all works out in the end & has that HEA us readers all want at the end. I definitely recommend this series!

I was completely blown away by this series and this ending was well worth the wait! There was so much I anticipated to happen but these two amazing woman blew me out of the water with this story! It was an adventure that relies on trust, faith, hope and love! All involved needed to be strong and had a role and that’s what I loved about this story! It wasn’t 100% Skye and Lucas! You got to see how the characters felt and it really enhanced my enjoyment of the books!

I hope these two continue to partner up and write incredible stories like this trilogy!

Wow!! This is the perfect ending to an amazing series. The characters are just so well developed, and you really feel like you are there with them throughout the story. Spoiler warning—read no further!!

The story itself is an “edge of your seat, must keep reading, need to know what happens next” thriller with the added bonus of a happy ending. While I am glad to know how this story ends, I am a little sad it’s over. I hope Meg Anne and Jessica Wayne continue to collaborate because the world needs more romantic fantasies like this series!!

You do need to read the first two books in the Cursed Heart Series. The beginning of this book starts off intensely. There are many twists that you don't want to happen but do and will have you saying a few choice words.

Why this is a great read:
- Lucas is dealing with loss, trickery and doom
- Skye is dealing with loss and drama
- You will feel all the emotions of the characters as the story progresses
- Action, action and oh did I mention action
- Twist after twist. There are many moments I don't see hope in the future and then surprise, there is
- One heck of an ending.

As the author wrote, “Love is what gives life meaning.” That quote pretty much sums up this series. No matter how much torture, physical and emotional, the characters went through, they were able to endure it because of love, true love.
The second book ended on a big cliffhanger and this third one starts right off where it ended. And wow is it a tear jerker! Be ready with tissues because this book pulls at your heart strings, but don’t worry, it ends with a wonderful HEA!
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

Great triology

This is another great PR from Meg Anne and Jessica! A vivid journey that brings you to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Descriptive writing, suspenseful, and funny parts! The ending scene with James and Livvie had me snorting as quietly as I could while my husband laid sleeping beside me. And a person should always have a tampon as a weapon. Wanna know what I mean? You have to read the triology. Each book has a cliffhanger, but an HEA in the third book. Skye and Lucas have a wonderful chemistry.... definitely a 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!

This book was a good way to end the series. There were things I liked and disliked about this story. It had it's rough and sweet moments, light and dark, loving and heartbreaking moments, slow and too fast paced scenes and more. Skylar went through some things in this book but she definitely came out stronger and I enjoyed her character even more. There was suspense, surprises and reunions. The ending was sweet for both Lucas and Skylar, and Lizzy and Matthews. Over all, this series a whole was good and I would give other books from this author a read.

This is Book 3 and the last book of Cursed Hearts series. It was so intense and jam packed with action. I absolutely loved it! In this book you get to see what happens with Skye after she was taken at the end of Book 2, and everything that happens with the group after that. I know I've said this in a review for one of the other books in this series, but Meg and Jessica write so well together and it was so seamless. I highly recommend this book and the entire series! 5 stars

This is the conclusion to the series. Lucas needs to fight his uncle who is trying to destroy him and he also needs to rescue Skye who has been kidnapped. During the fight to save Skye he is transported to wastelands and Skye must give up her life to save Lucas. We find out more about the characters and the relationship between them. The battle at the end shows the characters and how they will stand together to defeat evil.

In the third book is this amazing series will leave you with so many feels and emotions you won't be able to stop reading it.
Skye, Lucas, Izzy and James are fighting to save the world and themselves from The Druid . When Skye disappears and things don't look good what will they do to figure out to defeat him or will.all be lost when things don't go the way they hoped.
Amazingly Epic ending that ties it all up and don't leave wondering what happens. Can't wait to read more from these ladies.

Best ending for a series ever!

You won't be let down by this book. I love magic, for with it you can do anything! Once again there are so many twists that you never see coming. Both authors did an amazing job writing this series. I haven't fallen in love with a series this much in a while. And I read nonstop. This will be one series I read over & over. I love the banter between Skye & Lucas! And the sexual tension the is through the roof. Definitely worthy of several rereads.

Supernova is an intense story that provokes a lot of emotions. The things that Skye and Lucas had to endure broke my heart. There was a point where I thought their story wouldn’t end in a way I would like. Their tale was one that reinforced their love and trust in each other while proving that sometimes one has to have a little faith that things will work out.

Sweet

Such a sweet ending. I feel like I bull dozed through this series real quick. Definitely fast paced. Wasn’t too caught up with how quick everything was developing. At first I thought there would be more to the world but they kept it simple which was a nice change. Great and easy read.

Oh the last book, how I hate to see this end. I don't want to say much as to not give anything away. I will say the struggles that both Skye and Lucas face in this one are the hardest ones of their life. Their is less full on action in the one, it is more mental taxing on them both. Also absolutely loved the bonus story at the end, it wrapped things up nicely with the perfect bow 😉

This one picks right up at the end of Book 2 and has graphic violence. If you are OK with that, it takes a full day to read and is an adult paranormal portal-utilized battle against evil set in Scotland. Have tissues on hand and do not read in public as there are chortles mixed in. I had an ARC via Booksprout and this voluntary review is my own opinion.

Supernova concludes Skye and Lucas’ story. The book is set in Scotland where they have to face the Druid, aka Lucas’s grandfather, and find a way to destroy him. The characters relationships strengthen in this story and the series ends in a satisfying climax.
