this story is adorable. when i think of roni loren, i think hot, passionate romance stories with a really heavy tone. so it was quite a change to read something that is so light and romcom-esque. its really quite cute and i think roni pulls off the look quite well.

also, bravo for the representation. i think this is the first story i have read where the MC has tourettes and i love how its not used as a crutch for the characterisation of hollyn, but more of an meaningful portrayal of a life that s

So lovable, easy to read and get invested in, hooked up with flawed, quirky, relatable characters!

When the end of the freaking disastrous year approaches, the best thing to spend your precious time is getting a feel good, sweet romance books like this, choosing “ Baby is cold outside” as background music, lying on the couch, sipping your martinis or your hot chocolate full to the brim with marshmallows, enjoying your quality time with a widest smile on your face! That’s what I did! I highly re

this was very hard for me to read. I don't usually need CWs, but this book presents a main character with such severe anxiety that I *worried about her.* Not because of her Tourette's syndrome, which as some other reviewers pointed out, did seem carefully handled [I don't have much experience with this and would defer to other readers on this, of course], but because her anxiety is more than just social. It's described very physically in the book: she breathes heavier, clenches her fists, it esc ...more

After a heavy dose of historical fiction and psychological thrillers, it was time to switch to something much lighter. Happily, I selected Yes & I Love You written by Roni Loren.

Hollyn Tate is a popular entertainment reviewer in New Orleans who writes under the pseudonym Miz Poppy. As a writer, she is smart, insightful and a bit snarky but in life, she keeps to herself. The social anxiety she suffers from is a result of having Tourette syndrome. Jasper Deares, a struggling actor/improv performe

Oh good gravy - I was not expecting how sweetly this book was going to touch my heart!

When it was good, it was so, so good . There were literally scenes that lit me upside - heart aflutter, smile beaming, pulse racing. Moments that played out so vividly in my head that my body went into a full-on swoon. No lie, when it's good - it's like next level good.

That said, it wasn't a perfect reading experience. I felt like the first half of the book was a little slow. There were still these moments whe

GENRE: contemporary romance
TROPES: opposites attract

First, because we are so hungry for diversity in character representations I want to applaud the author for giving us that in our leading couple. The hero has ADHD. The heroine has Tourette's syndrome that causes her social anxiety.
Now, I can't judge is it done perfectly. But I appreciate it!!

Both are artistic. Jasper is an improv actor, extrovert, working at the cafe w

This is the first book I read my Roni Loren, and I have to admit that the blurb of the book wouldn't normally entice me to read this book. However, I wanted to try something different and decided to give it a chance. I am happy I did because I really enjoyed the characters and plot. The story was refreshing and I loved the main characters Hollyn and Jasper. Hollyn has Tourette's and social anxiety. She writes entertainment columns und

Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren is the first book in the duology 'Say Everything' by the author. Everyone knows Miz Poppy, she is the vibrant reviewer of New Orleans. But no one knows Hollyn, the real face behind the media star.

Jasper Deares, an aspiring actor, finds out that Miz Poppy isn't the one and decides to help Hollyn come out of her shell and in return he gets the media exposure he needs to become an actor.

Hollyn had been pushing herself out of her comfort zone, little by little, but when management wanted her column to include video segments, it seemed like an insurmountable challenge. She needed to find a way to feel more comfortable on camera, and Jasper and improv might be the answer.

The first thing that grabbed me in this book was Hollyn. She had such a great voice. She was sassy and snarky, and I loved her wit and candor. She was also trying really hard to take control of her life. Her Tour

Yes & I Love You is the first book in the Say Everything series of standalone interconnected contemporary romance books. As of now there are two books listed in this series.

This book is my first book by this author. I love the cover of this book. It is what drew me to it.

The main narrator is 20-something Hollyn Tate (3rd person POV). The book takes place in New Orleans.

Hollyn has Tourette's and she also suffers from extreme anxiety whenever she has to speak to people. She writes an e

The Tourette syndrome rep is done well.

I love the main characters. The writing is upbeat and mature. Totally enjoyed the unassuming chemistry between the characters.

The story wrapped up well and good.

Thank you, author and the publisher for the ARC.

[Thanks Netgalley for the ebook. This review is my honest opinion but just another opinion, you should read this book and judge it by yourself]

I fell in love with this book!
It's sweet, uplifting, funny and sexy, with two MC that you have to love and a well developed story.
I love Hollyn, she's so lovable... She's the star of the book. Her strength and her constant fight for self improvement are very inspiring and give her depth (and the book too). Jasper is great to but I think he's some kind of
I absolute Loved this sweet little book. Likable and funny characters. Neuro-diverse characters I haven't seen represented before and the characters grew throughout the book. Made for one successful rom-com that I needed at this time.

Hollyn is a young woman that has a successful column where she writes under the pen name Miz Poppy. People absolutely love her. She is honest and fun and is whip smart.... in her column. In real life, she has Tourette's and has a very difficult time interacting with

This was my first book of Loren's but will NOT be the last. What a story!

I adored the way many different things were approached in this story. We saw disorders, mental awareness, the normalcy of therapy, and loss.

What made this such a spectacular read for me was the way honesty was the key and led to beautiful communication between the main characters. I loved that I didn't have to wait to see how they would navigate tough conversations. They were said right then and there and I am HERE FOR THAT

This book had me squealing the entire time. Whether it was at the adorable improvisations, their lightning fast banter, or the **STEAMY** scenes, I had such a visceral reaction. That's when you know a romcom is good. This book paid homage to the romcoms of the past while still being a truly original story that I'll be rereading for ages. Adding in the Tourette's representation, which here chose to focus on it as an aspect of Hollyn rather than anything detrimental, helped me relate more to Holly ...more

I never expected this book to become one of the best contemporary books I've read so far.

We follow Hollyn Tate, a reviewer who is hiding her identity under the profile of Miz Poppy. She has been hiding for years from people due to her anxiety, but after meeting Jasper Deares, things start to change. Soon, they may need each other more than they thought they would: Hollyn doesn't want to lose her job over her awkwardness and anxiety, an

Sometimes you read a book that leaves you with so many good feelings that you want to dive into it again just to see if you can keep them going and that’s exactly how I felt when I finished Yes & I Love You. I loved the way author Roni Loren wrote characters who were marginalized and underrepresented in most of the arts and I applaud her for that, in addition I felt she was respectful of their disorders and the way they can affect a person’s life. This book had a different feel from Ms. Loren’s ...more

This is one of those occasions that I wish it was possible to rate in half stars. I want to give this book 3.5 stars, but officially I'm rounding up to four stars because overall I liked it more than I didn't. I really liked the characters, appreciate the mental health rep, and the sex/consent is on point. It just didn't quite keep it together in the third act for me.

The chemistry between the MCs is great. H

I really liked Hollyn and her journey in this book, but I was not really into Jasper's character for several reasons. Their romance was hot though and the book had an A+ face-sitting scene. :)

This was a sweet story that reminded me of the Kiss Quotient. The main female MC was not super likeable, but I really enjoyed her love interest.
I'm all about different (underrepresented and marginalized) representation in books, and this one was a huge, fantastic surprise! I went in without knowing anything about it, and was overwhelmed by my positive feelings in every chapter.

4.5 rounding up!

The Tourette's and ADHD rep was really great in Yes & I Love You by Roni Loren, and handled in such an empowering way. (I have no personal experience with either, but it felt enlightening, vulnerable, and honest.) There was also a diverse cast of c
I smiled through about 95% of this book. It was so endearing and warm. I absolutely love the friendships / relationships that Roni Loren can craft. They make me sad that I don't have those types of friendships / relationships in my own life. This plot is very unique. I love that about the plot. It is your normal met cute story with some twists thrown in that add that unique flavor. I love that Roni went there. This is such an adorable, sweet romance. I just loved it!

Hollyn has Tourette's and she spends a lot of time by herself, hiding. She recently rented an office space in a building for her music and entertainment column Miz Poppy, to make herself venture out. Tourette's for her includes a lot of facial tics. She meets Jasper at the community coffee bar in the building. She is attracted,

Another book I picked up in all my slumpy grumpy glory, with some trepidation, but I just needed a contemporary. And starting out I was worried it wasn’t the best of decisions. But lo and behold, I got to about 25% before I knew it and after that I could not put it down. The author tackles some sticky subjects in the book, with excellent neurodiverse rep and a story of how a most unlikely pair of a regular boy and girl can have the grandest love story. Loved his book! Highly recommend.
It wasn't the traditional girl has no confidence and keeps those feelings hidden and acts like a deer in headlights. I have no more patience for those... It's finally a story about a woman who says what she wants, what she feels, and realizes that confidence is the sexiest attribute you can have. She owns it!
Loved the writing style, I have a new author to follow and get excited about!
