"Dallas" is book #5 in the Bachelors and Babies Series and Cyndi Raye is a new author to this reader. Again, this novella was a very quick read and standalone in the series. I thought the story was delightful and entertaining. Both hero/heroine were likeable characters and I enjoyed this freebie from KU.

Cute

Even though they met and married in a way that was highly unlikely to really happen, this was a cute story. The characters were great. The ending was pretty sweet.

Needs better editing

The story was ok, but the editing was poor and distracting. If you are going to write in the vernacular, be consistent. You can’t have a character speaking correctly and then have them use poor grammar. It doesn’t enhance the story, it makes the reader wonder if the author knows any better.

Fast, Easy Read

If you have read any of the other stories in the Bachelor's and Babies series, then you'll definitely want to read Dallas and Scarlett's story, too. This book moved so quickly and was so enthralling that I read it much more quickly than I expected. It was very difficult to put down, even to take my dogs outside. I enjoyed seeing how the story was going to unfold and whether Dallas and Scarlett were going to be able to make their relationship work. Cyndi Tate wrote another delightful story. Enjoy!

Dallas (book5)

I really enjoyed this story. Dallas found a baby in his barn. He had seen a strange woman get off the train this morning. He assumed the baby was placed in his barn by that lady. He went to the Sherriff and the minister to confront this lady. She insisted the baby was not hers but the minister insisted they marry and they did. Now, the fun is only beginning. You will enjoy this story

Dallas and Scarlett - Great story

I’m not sure how I missed this one but I’m glad I found it! This is a continuation of the Mill Ridge stories. I love when the characters intertwine but this is a stand alone without a cliff hanger. This is a true representation that family does not have to be blood relation - loved this happily ever after family!

Good historical story

It begins with a forced marriage. A preacher is firm in his belief & accusations. So firm, he doesn't give any one else a chance to think or speak.
As life happens, they find the baby's mother & encounter a child on their property. A good story with a good conclusion.

Hooked from the start. Lovely story

Couldn't put it down. I was hooked from the first page. Characters are vivid and realistic. A bit of mystery and humor add spice to a thoroughly entertaining story. Definitely putting this on my re-read pile. Very satisfying ending that ties up all the loose ends.

Sweet book

I enjoyed the book. The characters are well drawn and the plot is consistent and easy to follow.
However, Cyndi needs the spend a bit of time with a grammar book ( a few misplaced commas and misplaced modifying phrases) and a dictionary. I'm still chuckling over the spoonerisms.

A touching story!

Dallas and Scarlett are pushed into a shotgun wedding because of the misunderstanding of baby Eva's paternity. Their own complicated backgrounds create an interesting romance.

Wonderful, clean western romance/mystery

I loved this story. Gertrude, the goose, was awesome. Dallas and Scarlett's story was wonderful. I love that it was a good, clean story and loved the mystery. I look forward to reading more in this series and more by this author.

Great Story

This story is a good example of the people who made Western stories popular. Life was rough but it all boils down to what you want out of this precious God given life, a reminder that family does not necessarily refer to blood relatives only.

Dallas and his family 💞

Great story of a lonely, forsaken man who unexpectedly obtains a wife and daughter with no notice. Except his new wife has secrets he doesn’t know about. Will Scarlett come clean and reveal these to Dallas?

It was a nice read. Although i didn't like the beginning of the book, he finds the baby and immediately assumes its the stranger he saw. Him, the Sheriff and the reverend all but corner her in the boarding house and the author just had her cut off every time she spoke. it didn't work with what she was going for. She should have done it differently. i think with a few small changes the book could have been really good. Still enjoyable

A man who has been left for another, a beautiful baby girl, a young woman who is trapped in the middle of several circumstances.
Dallas finds an infant girl in his barn, wrapped in a blanket and placed in a basket with a note. Earlier he had been in town watching people arrive on the train and noticed a beautiful young woman embark from the train. Once he finds the baby, he determines the young woman is the mother and for a reason known only to her, has left the baby in his barn.
A confrontation at the boarding house in town ends with Dallas and Scarlett marrying. She cannot get a word in edgewise to discourage their thoughts of her being the Mother. So she marries Dallas.
Scarlett is confused, where is the baby's Mother and why did she leave her baby? Scarlett also holds her own secret close to her heart. For now she feels safe. But at any time things could come crashing down.
How will Dallas and Scarlett come to an understanding when things feel so out of control between them? Can they bare their souls and come together to form a family? Maybe with a little help from Dallas' parents things can be righted... This book touched my heart. The characters and plot were right on.
It shows how family can have difficulty but love will bring them together in the end.
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.

I really loved this book. I like the fact Cyndi used characters, including a cow, and a town setting from another series. It made the book.
Dallas was an orphan who was taken of the Orphan Train and adopted by a wealthy family. After he is grown and becomes engaged he decided she needed to know about it. She spurns him for the Bankeraas all she wanted was the prestige.
Scarlett was the daughter of gang leaders. She runs away after they are killed and her brother takes over the gang, wanting to marry her off to an outlaw.
Scarlett and Dallas are thrown together when a baby appears in his barn and he and the sheriff think it is Scarlett's baby.
The story has a lot of action going on, mystery, murder, and most of all a happy ever after. I recommend it to all who like good clean reading.

Another heartwarming story by the amazing storyteller Cyndi Raye. I enjoy her books so much and have never read one I did not love. This is no exception and when you put together a handsome man, with a wounded heart, a sweet baby and a woman who is running from her past, you can't get much better.
Dallas Mason finds an abandoned baby in his barn and just knows the lady he saw at the train station is the mother. Scarlett has come to town to hopefully find a place she can keep her secrets and be left alone. Of course that is before Dallas accuses her of being the baby's other. One thing leads to another and they end up married.
Can these three become a family or will the past get in the way? Don't miss this wounderful story that will make your heart smile.

Dallas is a winner in this fun and exciting series.

I really enjoyed Ms. Raye's story in this wonderful multi author series. This one is really good and full of problems of people but where redemption is alive and well. It has orphans, outlaws, babies left behind of course in a farmer's barn, a wild crazy goose that loves to be hugged and give hugs, and a whole lot more. I highly recommend this story as well as all the stories in this series. Bachelors and Babies series is a fun and exciting series where you will laugh, cry, get mad and well get all happy with the great endings.

I avidly read Cyndi's books and looked forward to reading this when I received an advance copy from the author although my review is not influenced by this.
Scarlett is forced to marry Dallas when it is assumed that a baby left at his farm is hers. She has her own reasons for not saying that the baby isn't hers but keeps quiet. Life settles down for a while until a shock find forces her to admit her reason for lying.
In these times of uncertainty it is great to read a book that is full of hope and love.

Dallas finds a baby in his barn and when he shows up in town there is a woman who only could be the baby’s mother. Before they know it they are married. Scarlett finds herself married to a man who just found a baby. They are taking care of the baby girl together and that brings them close to each other. But Scarlett has secrets, will that prevent them from a HEA?
This is an entertaining story with two main characters who deserve love, an adorable baby and a crazy but sweet goose.
Enjoyed ready this story in this great series.

Dallas (Bachelors and Babies Book 5)

I enjoyed this 5th book in this series. Each story is different and so far, I have enjoyed each one written by different authors. I enjoyed following Dallas, our kind and loving bachelor along with the strong and sweet Scarlett, through the twists and turns of falling in love. What to do with the precious babe, Dallas found on his property? Romance, angst and a bit of humor are in this well written book, where a crazy goose named Gertrude, runs the barnyard. JudyE

I really enjoyed reading this book. I held my attention and was hard to stop reading to help my family. I did read it in one day.

I really love to see how a new couple overcomes and issues or trouble and still come out on top. This author is an amazing writer and makes all her books that I have read so far hard to put down to do other things that need to be done.

Thank you for letting me read this before it went live. I greatly appreciate helping you.

Cyndi Raye certainly does not disappoint in this Book #5 of the series. This is Dallas and Scarlet's story, as well as a baby girl left in Dallas' barn, an onery goose, a murder, secrets, and a forced marriage which eventually becomes a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. It is a real heart warming page turner and you will not be disappointed.

I know when I pick up a Cyndi Raye book I’m going to find an intriguing plot with a few twists and interesting characters. Scarlett and Dallas meet up under unusual circumstances. I found it interesting that no one really wanted to know what Scarlett had to say, they kept talking over her. I think they found the true meaning of family.

Another enjoyable book.

I am really enjoying this series and look forward to each new book. This book was no exception to the rest it was a lovely short read with all the ends tied up nicely. I did worry a bit about the baby though, what did they do for diapers and did they sterilize the bottle or dilute the cows milk. I presume they did because Eva Marie appeared to thrive.
