“Awaken the Three” is the sequel to D. L. Jennings’s debut novel, “Gift of the Shaper.” It follows some familiar characters from its predecessor and introduces several new ones. Jennings takes his readers to mysterious and unexplored reaches of Derenar and Gal’dorok as armies clash over their claims to an ancient city.

Jennings’s greatest strength lies in writing excellent battle sequences. This includes everything from small skirmishes with one or two participants to full scale clashes between a

🍷Awaken The Three: Highglade🍷

This is the sequel to the first book in the series and thank God I just didn't have to wait for it since it's already out or else I feel I would have died in anticipation, lol! The second book follows a well interweaved story of Aldis Tennech, the once-great general of the armies of Gal'dorok, finds himself in exile. His only hope of reclaiming glory lies in the hands of a self-proclaimed emperor, and the unearthly powers that put him there. Meanwhile, improbable all

"Awaken the Three" by D.L. Jennings is epic fantasy with good versus evil, supernatural against humanity, and dark battles between moments of peace. With multiple plot lines, the book moves quickly via a well established cast of characters.

Characters are clearly defined. This made it really helpful to differentiate them from each other since there are so many of them. The descriptions are vivid, creating clear images.

The scenes are action packed and move the plot lines quickly. Stealth and battl

Awaken the Three began a little ahead of me, having not read book one, so I took a little time to explore the maps and glossaries provided by the author. I'm so very glad he did because the complex, multi-story plot lines, and multi-dimensional characters deserve a reader who comprehends what is going on when beginning book two before book one.

Be that as it may, the beautifully constructed mytho-fantasy action-intense story grabs you early and refuses to let go. Jenning's writing style is conte

Awaken The Three is an epic story and it is the sequel of 'Gift of the Shaper'. It is Book 2 in the HIGHGLADE Series.

He is a man that always has a plan. He finds himself in exile. His hope of reclaiming glory is in the hands of self-proclaimed emperor and unearthly powers.

It is a story of war, chaos, drama, suspense, thrill

I really enjoyed Gift of the Shaper, so I was looking forward to this book. Honestly, it was hard work to even finish this one. Practically every page was a different POV, so you don't really have time to get into their storyline. It was like when you're trying to watch TV and someone keeps changing the channel. I found myself skimming through a lot. Because the action was so broken up, it wasn't very exciting. At the end of the book I was wondering how I got there and what was the point. I'm no ...more

Awaken the Three is perfect for lovers of epic fantasy. If you're a fan of The Lord of the the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit you'll absolutely love this book. I do highly recommend reading book one as well, but it's not necessary to enjoy reading this. A rich world, vibrant characters, and a well paced story that will have you turning pages cover to cover. Don't pass this one by. ...more

I received a copy of this book from the Author and R&R Book Tours, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When I agreed to read this book I was not sure what I was going to think about it. This is the second book in the Highglade series, and I have not read the first one so I was not sure how this was going to go. I can honestly say that this book can be read as a stand-alone. I did not feel like I was missing information. I was able to read and enjoy this book as
