Kyle Achilles #5

Boundless Ambition

Rate this book
The boundless ambitions
of some CEOs and politicians
are dangerous, shameless and sly.
Only when heroes step forward to fight,
will we see the end of their lies.

Imagine HOUSE OF CARDS meets JAMES BOND in a clever suspense thriller.
________________________________________________

Sometimes the bad guys play out of bounds.

Our world is plagued by the devious schemes of disguised cheaters and thieves. The worst of these frauds are perpetrated by prominent figures—powerful people with sincere smiles, boundless ambitions, and flexible souls. They play on hope, fear and pride while stealing billions right before our eyes.

This is the story of one such group. Although thoroughly unpredictable, it’s inspired by true events.

Created using the same compelling mix of savvy plotting, rapid pacing, and clever conundrums that turned the first four Kyle Achilles books into international bestsellers, Boundless Ambition gives you heroes to love, villains to hate, and puzzles to solve. It’s a story destined to delight both new comers and avid Tim Tigner fans.

Tim began his career in Soviet Counterintelligence with the US Army Special Forces, the Green Berets. That was back in the Cold War days when, “We learned Russian so you didn't have to,” something he did at the Presidio of Monterey alongside Recon Marines and Navy SEALs.

With the fall of the Berlin Wall, Tim switched from espionage to arbitrage. Armed with a Wharton MBA rather than a Colt M16, he moved to Moscow in the midst of Perestroika. There, he led prominent multinational medical companies, worked with cosmonauts on the MIR Space Station (from Earth, alas), chaired the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, and helped write Russia’s first law on healthcare.

Moving to Brussels during the formation of the EU, Tim ran Europe, Middle East, and Africa for a Johnson & Johnson company and traveled like a character in a Robert Ludlum novel. He eventually landed in Silicon Valley, where he launched new medical technologies as a startup CEO.

In his free time, Tim has climbed the peaks of Mount Olympus, went hang gliding from the cliffs of Rio de Janeiro, and ballooned over Belgium. He earned scuba certification in Turkey, learned to ski in Slovenia, and ran the Serengeti with a Maasai warrior. He acted on stage in Portugal, taught negotiations in Germany, and chaired a healthcare conference in Holland. Tim studied psychology in France, radiology in England, and philosophy in Greece. He has enjoyed ballet at the Bolshoi, the opera on Lake Como, and the symphony in Vienna. He’s been a marathoner, paratrooper, triathlete, and yogi.

Intent on combining his creativity with his experience, Tim began writing thrillers in 1996 from an apartment overlooking Moscow’s Gorky Park. Twenty years later, his passion for creative writing continues to grow every day. His home office now overlooks a vineyard in Northern California.

Tim grew up in the Midwest, and graduated from Hanover College with a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics. After military service and work as a financial analyst and foreign-exchange trader, he earned an MBA in Finance and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.

Kyle and Katya are looking forward to a vacation in Fiji when their plans are circumvented by a request from the White House for a new mission. The request was to steal a missile to thwart a threat to the United States. Little did they know what awaited them. Even though the mission seemed somewhat suspicious, because it was from the White House, specifically the White House Chief of Staff, they went along with ii. Kyle and Katya were thrust into a situation that was nothing like what they suspected and ended up in a fight for their lives. As the true mission unfolded it became up to Kyle and Katya to stop a diabolical plan hatched by three CEO’s and the White House Chief of Staff. How they did it was so surprising. This is one of the best books I have ever read—so much tension, drama and intrigue. I literally could not put this book down. When everything came together in the end, I was breathless! Read and enjoy!!!

Kyle and Katya form a formidable team...
In this book, you will see Katya really involved in the action. She has mad skills and when they face individual crises of mind or anxiety, the other provide a strength so they power through.

This book made me question nothing but the sanity of its illustrious author. How he continues to provide twists and turns, scaring us with the ideas he has honed to perfection, I have no idea.

The timing of this book is quite intriguing as we looked at the Democrats in their debates and the whittling of candidates. To think this could happen in our country is unnerving but I have a high degree of hearing out conspiracy theories and the events of this book is as scary as Covid-19.

This is a must read. Kudos, Tim to yet another successful and spine-tingling thriller.

The latest in the series that never disappoints. An intricate plot that is effortlessly woven together. I can't say enough about these books. The main character almost seems superhuman, but is so believable you realize he isn't. The use of technology in the plot could seem implausible, but isn't. I particularly like that, in the afterword of the books, Mr. Tigner has references for all the seemingly unusual plot concepts and technologies used in the book.

Once again Tim Tigner knocks a Kyle Achilles thriller out of the park. Tigner's plotting and characterisation are always a highlight, regardless of subject matter, and he continues to bring in new situations and villains for his hero to deal with.
An absolute page turning thriller with much more intelligence than you usually get from this sort of novel.
Excellent again.

Ambition...how does it start ...where does it end? Is it corporate ambition that creates evil or political ambition that desires power. Does ambition lead to power and evil or deliver evil. The author has you questioning it all by revealing the central characters and their ambition. Achilles once again represents the good to conquer the evil. Will he and his wife succeed..how many obstacles must they overcome. Loved the problem solving, strategy and execution details. Loved this book. Another success by author Tim Tigner.

This is on fabulous story, once Kyle Achilles gets going you can’t put it down. Plan on staying up really late! Tim Tigner does a wonderful job creating a plot that leads on and on, and he is very good at unveiling it in a nice orderly fashion. I also like how he researches what he uses in his novels so you can actually learn stuff rather than those that don’t care and make up crap that isn’t reality. It doesn’t get much better than Boundless Ambition. Highly recommend reading this book. 5

Achilles is recruited on a daring mission by the President's Chief of Staff. When his role is completed and he's deemed expendable, Achillies (and Katya) have other ideas. We're led on a round the world game of hop scotch that will keep the pages turning and an evil plot that will leave you scatching your head asking are people that greedy (rheotrical question). Another great read from Tim Tigner.

I am terrible doing reviews, so I keep it simple. Read this series! You will love Kyle and Katya Achilles! The stories are always fresh, fast paced, never boring, and the two main characters are just a blast. I love this series, this book, and cannot wait for the next one. I promise you will not regret getting this book!

Brilliant. There are some books that you just can’t pull yourself away from with the need to find out what’s going to happen, and this is definitely one of those stories. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the first four books in this series, and book number five was right up there as one of my favourites. Kyle Achilles is not a man to be messed with, he is incredibly tough and very versatile. It certainly helps that his beautiful wife Katya is by his side helping him in this latest job. He’s going to need all the help he can get with three of America’s top CEO’s are planning on controlling the next election through some of the governments most powerful cabinet members for their own financial gain.
Tim Tigner has done an incredible job with this tense and thrilling plot. This really is a fabulous book that gave me hours of entertainment. Well worth a read. 5/5 Star Rating.

I am a fan of Kyle and Katya and their adventures! This one does not disappoint, however, several of their challenges which they overcame seemed a bit out there! Achilles is becoming somewhat of a superhero type - leaping tall buildings, etc! I really like the way Tim Tigner develops the stories and keeps you guessing! I highly recommend the Kyle Achilles series - just wish there was more of them.... Keep writing Tim TIgner!!!

Unbelievably exciting twists and turns with your total and complete investment in the characters.

As ever Tim Tigner holds on to you from the very beginning and it is an exhilarating high to low to high to low and on and on. He turns corner so fast you didn't even know that it corner was there. And all of a sudden you're in another world with different things going on at exponentially dangerous outcomes. I enjoy this author so much. He is the first author that I actually have to put a book down for a few minutes to collect myself so that I can read on without my heart thumping out of my chest. His books are page-turners. And you become very invested in his characters. I am so sad I have to wait till 2021 to get the next book. Fortunately I was able to read all six of the books in a row. So now I will be in a desert of no water for being able to read his fascinating work.

I have read all of Tim Tigner's books! He has come a long way since his first book. He now fleshes out the story and this one is fast paced, well thought out and believable. He must have great contacts in places that know of current politics, high paid CEOs, undercover hackers, invisible technologies to accomplish the tasks Kyle Achilles and his lovely wife are able to! The character, Achilles, is a good hero who is patriotic and has a conscience. Great read!

Story, characters, relationships and action are always just properly disbursed throughout the story. Usual problem...I read then faster than they can be written.

The late Vince Flynn gave us Mitch Rapp. Brad Thor gives us Scott Horvath. Kyle Achilles is Tim Tigner's equal to either of them. Actually his athleticism and amazing wife Katya may actually put him up a notch above.
A call from the White House chief of staff takes our dynamic duo on a quest around the world in an effort to save us all from destruction from a newly created weapon. One question that Kyle can't seem to shake from his mind is why POTUS was not present at his white house meeting.
You have to read this intense drama to find out the secrecy behind his efforts. A brilliantly crafted work that I was fortunate enough to read as an ARC. I cannot wait for the next adventure.

Tim Tigner’s Boundless Ambition is another of his exciting stories with thought-provoking aspects. I am not naïve, so I accept the premise that 3 CEOs could engineer the election of a president, the appointment of his chief of staff and selection of several cabinet members—all for a super-power grab. Both Kyle and Katya Achilles perform super-human feats in their effort to thwart the coup. I have enjoyed all of the Achilles stories and I applaud Kyle and Katya’s positive attitudes and actions.

This was definitely worth waiting for!!!! Tim you did an excellent job with the plot and the whole story line flowed extremely well !!! Has to be one of the top five books I read this year. It was so hard not to try and read in one day. But it goes to show you what money and politics are always a bad thing. Look at the joker we have now. The sad part the other side is just as bad. Keep up the great story writing. 5 stars is just not enough. Can't to see what happens with Achilles and Katya next. Thanks Carl Clause
