This story is about a toad who sees a storm coming and immediately seeks shelter. All the other animals ask why he is scared, and he tells them it is because of the thunder. They all tell him different stories about what the thunder really is, like a carnival, or other loud events. Tyler Toad finally feels brave, but as soons as he hears the thunder, all the animals get scared and jump into Tyler Toad's burrow.

The illustrations for this book were very nice, and the imaginative stories about the thunder were very colorful. I think the story was a little silly, since it did not have a lesson to learn from it or anything else. The story started with Tyler Toad afraid of thunder and ended with him afraid of thunder.

I do not know how I could use this book in a classroom unless we were talking about our fears, but this book would not help very much since he does not come over his fear. We could read it and then talk about how we could be more brave than the other animals, and come up with other stories about what is making the thunder, being as creative as possible.

This book, Tyler Toad and the Thunder, is a book about a young frog who is scared of the thunder and all of the other animals are trying to convince him that the thunder is not that scary. The themes are scared, alone, teamwork, and nature. The genres are fantasy, picture books, and the age is kindergarten to fourth grade. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars because overall it is a really good book. and teaches children to not have fear.
