A woman jaded by their past. A man still living with the horrors of who he became without her. Felicity ‘Flick’ Peters had always loved her best friend’s brother, and when he gave her her first real kiss, she hoped he'd be her first... everything. Then, when he joined the army and left without saying goodbye, that love turned to hatred.
Beckett Hope hated his life. His parents didn't deserve his respect while his sister deserved so much more from all of them. With an impossible choice to make, he left to save himself from becoming the one man he despised, his father. Joining the army was supposed to be his salvation, but instead, it blackened his soul and he became Shadow. Killer, loner and brother of the Black Sentinels MC.
Ten years later, a tragedy forces Flick and Shadow together, but with the dark deeds of his past still haunting him, Shadow is fighting a war on all fronts, his past, his future, his love for Flick and his need to save her from the horrors he perpetrated under the guise of war. One last job threatens the life Shadow is so desperately chasing and when he returns, broken, lost and barely reachable, it is up to Flick to bring him back to life, back to her, and back to the brothers of the Black Sentinels MC. Flick has one last chance to bring peace to his chaotic world, his unsettled mind and prove to him that not all shadows create a cold darkness, some bring shade in times of intense heat.
I love the Back sentinels MC and I've followed it from the start. Victoria Johns has added yet another belter to her series.
Flick was addictive and a page turner.
A little different from previous books the heroine seemed to be the one with the strength and backbone where the relationship is concerned and the plot takes a whole new different path when it becomes more of a Military read than MC. I'm not a military read lover but it was something Beckett had to do so he and Flick could move on with their lives.
Each book contains one of the members from Black sentinels and so far every one of them has been different. Picking out my favourite so far would be like asking me to pick my favourite child, I couldn't do it but I do recommend this series to any MC romance lover.
In summary I was captivated, I enjoyed it and can't wait for more in this series or whatever Victoria Johns brings next.
Having loved the previous books in the series. - Angel, Gigi, Malia and was quickly engrossed in the world of the Black Sentinals MC. What I love so much about these books is the depth and range of story that Victoria Johns writes. Yes they are an MC, but as much as each the male leads in the books have a story, the strength of the females in them are gripping. When Flick released, I had to wonder what her story is, but it is nothing but amazing. Felicity and Beckett have a connection from the past, Through Beckett’s sister. After tragedy strikes, Felicity and Beckett are faced with a major life change. Both have changed. One more so than the other. Soon the settle into a new normal, then life throws a major curveball, which affects them all. I loved the Flick is a story that will take every part of your emotions & takes you on a rollercoaster ride with them. You will laugh, you will cry, you’ll laugh some more, but I dare anyone the read this amazing book and feel nothing. Victoria Johns has given us a brilliantly written Book, the perfect continuation of the Black Sentinel Story
I've loved this series so much and fell deep and hard while reading each book that has an amazing MC main man and a fiesty kick butt leading lady involved and this one was no different. I wondered how this story would go and knew it would also have the ability to have me hooked by the first pages and it totally did... I felt like part of the Black Sentinel MC family and didn't want it to end. Flick is a childhood friend of Shadow but after not seeing each other for so long a tragic admccident brings them smashing into each others lives yet again with a huge surprise in tow! Full of dark edgy turmoil that leaves you praying for the rollercaoster to stop this book keeps you turning those pages to find out just how much of a shadow Shadow can be! I could read about these guys every day and love how every book brings you a catch up with all the guys we've met previously.
The best book in the series so far . Loved Beckett and flicks story ,lots of emotions and a few tears at the end . Totally nailed the ants levels dragging you right in not letting you put it down and loved the darkness of the second half of the book . An MC story with a difference.
I haven't read many MC books, and I can't even give a good reason as to why. I absolutely adored this book and I really need to go and read the previous books in the series. I love how Johns has twisted the genre a little and made the focus on the women of the MC rather than the male members. It's refreshing and something I found works so well. I honestly can't wait to read the others in the series.
