Matt Lucas viral updated verious of the Baked Potato song has been such a hit with my daughter, that we had to order the book as soon as it was announced.
The fact that all profits will go to support NHS workers by supplying them with one hot meal a day makes it even better.

The simple catchy tune helps explain to youngsters all the goverment advice surrounding Covid-19 with social distancing rules and the only essential trips outside.
In fact I prefer it to our Peime Minsters addresses to the nation, its certainly clearer...

Those that are unfamiliar with the song should definitely seek it out on YouTube or other Social Media sites, but you might end up humming it for the rest of the day.

I saw this book by Matt Lucas pop up on my feed and was instantly curious (and not just me but also my hubby). I have no clue about the song, apparently it is based on a song, but probably only the British people know it. :P This book is a cute book about a baked potato and how we are all thankful for what he does. He tells you to only go outside when you need to, to wash your hands, to keep 2 metres distance (which is more than it is in my country), and more. Since I didn't know the baked potato song, I didn't know this was going to be a corona-children's book. But I loved it. It was fun and playful and I am sure that it is great hit with kids.
The illustrations are very fitting with the book, though sorry baked potato, I am hungry and I was thinking of eating you. :P
I also love that if you buy the book the proceeds go to a place where they make hot meals for NHS people and send them to them. That is so lovely.

Thank You Baked Potato. The song that was created by Matt Lucas to help feed the NHS some nutritious, hot, delcious food. The song that has gone absolutely viral (but in a better way than Covid 19) and has been storming social media for ages.

There is of course the song in this brilliantly illustrated book, that tells you what to do during this period of time in our lives. It also gives some fun, creative ideas of what children can do, whilst staying at home, such as making rainsticks, creating a theme day, playing musical statues, making edible art and much more.

The book can be purchased in paperback and as an e-book.

Is it worth buying? Absolutely, especially because it has some fun practical ideas and also you help the NHS.

Such a cute book!
This adaptation of Matt Lucas’ remake of the Thank You Baked Potato song is adorable - my daughter already loves the song and the animation so to have this as a bedtime story too is fantastic. The book is high quality, glossy and clear with crisp cartoon artwork. It is just the lyrics to the song with the cartoon illustrations but there are some celebrity cameos and lots to look at. The last few pages offer some really helpful fun family activities to try during lockdown.
What’s even better is that all profits from the book go to Feed NHS, a charity that ensures our overworked heroes in the NHS get a hot meal - something easily forgotten as they do their best to save lives and comfort the sick.
Definitely worth the purchase and a lovely read.

Erm... read early in the lockdown as a means of escaping the thing while finding more about the Matt Lucas's 'song' and as a means of contributing to NHS Charities Together. A curiosity of its time...
