Learning to Trust Again

When a shyster swindles Molly Peters out of her life savings, the young teacher concludes that all men are untrustworthy. One exception is her principal, who takes her in to live rent-free on his Wisconsin farm so that she can rebuild her life.

Amid the tall grasses and fields of crops, Molly meets another man, tall farmer, Cal. She doesn't know if she can trust Cal, but damn, she does know he's handsome as hell!

Turns out the soil isn't the only thing that's fertile on the

I enjoyed this book for the most part. Molly is a tough one to critique, one minute I think she’s strong, independent woman and other times she’s whiny and kinda childish. But in the end I liked her character. Cal, what’s not to like. He’s the epitome of the perfect hero and a cowboy too. I recommend this book.

Molly Unplanned by Nicki Elson

Then she thought she could do a casual sexual thing, but she started to let her heart to open, but then her new knight cracked it wide open. But, of all things to happen after she starts to heal from everything she realizes she is pregnant from the knight! Her baby girl opens up emotions that she didn’t realize that she had! Life is what happens when we are making other plans

This story is about life challenges and how they can hinder and teach us along life's path. So often we act on what we believe to be true but may be the opposite of what we think.

When Molly's boss offers her a place to stay on his farm she never expected her life to change as it does.
Cal works on the farm and is honest with her that he's not boyfriend material.
He could be just what she needs?
Lots of hurdles and challenges thrown into this story

First time story from this author. Poor Molly gets cheated out of everything she has & more. She ends up on a farm and perhaps has a another chance for happiness. Enjoyable.

DNF - 62%

This was not at all what I expected from the blurb on Amazon. First, let me just say that this book was advertised as "a small-town romance", I am 62% in and I STILL can't find the romance.

I find Molly to be quite.....annoying, for lack of a better word. Just very one-dimensional and doesn't seem to have a backbone, to be honest. I don't feel like I can sympathize with her, which is not a good thing when you're trying to read a story. You want to connect with the heroine in some kind of

A marvelous and moving read! Everything about Molly's setup at the farm and school felt so cozy that I didn't want to leave. Yet even within that lovely atmosphere, her circumstances get real--nothing and no one is idealized or one-dimensional, and I believed in every character’s feelings and motivations. Flowing at a smooth pace, the story is developed very gently and realistically, with a lot of substance and heart along with the wit and fun. Whether it was a punch to the gut or my heart melti ...more

From a con artist to a farmer, Wisconsin to Italy and back home again this book brings Molly's life full circle. There is heartache and love, insecurities and growing confidence as Molly struggles to find her footing after the con artist boyfriend stole that from her and so much more.

I really enjoyed all of that and the sexy cowboy, Cal who happens to work on the farm where the cottage she lives in is located. I also liked how her boss and his wife support Molly and help her with her unplanned

Molly Unplanned is my absolute favorite book by Nicki Elson. I enjoyed Molly’s story so much I read it in one sitting. Molly is down on her luck, after her boyfriend, Glen, runs off with her life savings, instead of bringing her the check for their house. Luckily, the principal at the school where she teaches, Mr. Richmond has a solution. Violet and him will let Molly stay in their guest house, if she’ll help out in the flower garden. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say Molly has ...more

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This book could make you laugh but could also make your heart hurt. Cal was such an easy man to root for. He was really good with a little bad thrown in. Molly was taken advantage of but she seemed to take advantage of Cal to an extent also. They could have found their happy ending a whole lot sooner if she would have trusted her heart. But she took the long way to get there. This is the first time that I hav ...more

Molly's boyfriend takes off, leaving her broke and homeless. She's offered a place to live - a cute cottage on the farm of a friend. That farm is where she meets a farmer, Cal. Life isn't done with Molly yet; there are more surprises in store for her before she finds her forever. This is my first read from this author, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised - the book was wonderful, with a nice story that flows nicely. It's well written, with terrific characters and a ...more

Molly unplanned by Nicki Elson.

What a wonderful book and a wonderful romance. For sure I could connect with Nicki in this heart warming story. It took me by surprise knowing that she had so much of her own life involved with this. I knew about Italy, but not about the farm in Wisconsin. The farm in Wisconsin took me by surprise because I am part of the family. Looking forward to the next adventure for sure. Good luck to you. I look forward to going to Italy with Nicki!

Molly Unplanned is a fun and absolutely addicting read! I laughed out loud many times at Molly's hilarious mental quips and gasped as the plot unfolded... Even the personalities of the supporting characters (like dear Violet!) are so well fleshed out. After finishing the novel, I woke up thinking I was on a charming farm in Wisconsin (is that a Casanova cowboy I see in the distance?). Molly Unplanned is a romance that becomes so much more. It will grip you and warm your heart in more ways than o ...more

It took time

I loved this story. The main female character, Molly, was justifiably distressed when her partner of six-months failed to appear at their planned meeting. Frantic calls to his office revealed that he had resigned and skipped town with Kimmy, and all Molly's savings.
So the house they planned to buy is lost. Devastated, Molly realises she will be without accommodation in just two weeks. How could she know what was just around the corner? But God turns bad to good. Read this story. Its

This is my first time reading something by this author and I will be looking for more of her books in the future. This was a touching story and was very realistically portrayed. The storyline flowed smoothly and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. There were some plot twists along the way that kept me guessing as well. Overall, a very enjoyable story. Will be looking for more by this author.

Nicki Elson writes spicy fiction with a sweet and dreamy center. She does other stuff, obsess over reality TV (and she's not ashamed to admit it).

Writing fiction wasn't something Nicki set out to do; it just sort of happened when she realized writing reports was by far her favorite part of her investment consulting position. She traded stock allocation and diversification for story arcs
