Slade and Brandie's story was so smooth to read that I really enjoyed it! No angst, no drama and a good, old crime romance story! I'm going to read the other two books in the series for sure!

Been looking forward to this book since meeting Brandi and Slave in book 1. Brandi has been through hell, will Slade be able to help her claw her way out of it?
What I love about this authors books is that they are jam packed with action and sassy females from cover to cover, making it impossible to look away. My reviews are mostly always shortish for this very reason, and also for the fact most details I want to mention are key pieces of the puzzle that makes up the story.
Watching them both grow even with baggage is inspiring. Once Brandi realizes she's a survivor not a victim, there will be no stopping her/them.
Although the action throughout keeps you on the edge of your seat, you still get lulled into a false sense of security for a bit, do not do what I did and let your guard down. Every time the author catches me by surprise in the very best way.

This is the 2nd book in this series and is Slade and Brandi’s story. Brandi is feisty and defiant after surviving a traumatic captive situation which has left her understandable with issues to overcome. Even though she is now free danger is just around the corner and FBI agent Slade is assigned to protect her. The chemistry between these two is sizzling, but will he be able to protect her? This is a well written story which is action packed and filled with danger which had me on tenterhooks throughout. I look forward to reading more from this author and recommend her work for all.

She was handed over by her boss to a man he owed money and forced to serve him. She just wants to go home and try to live a normal life. Danger is everywhere and that's where Slade comes in the picture. He is her protector but also sexy alpha male. The couple are sparks together.

She was used as a payment by her boss and then rescued by the FBI. Her boss, Kevin Vick gave Brandi to Saul Luciano in payment for a debt. She fought as long as she could to not be broken or destroyed, but they finally won. Brandi was a vibrant, fun, strong young woman, and a bit of a wild child until she was used by her boss for payment to a man who is ruthless, and his daughter is worse. Once Brandi is rescued and saved by the FBI, she and Slade, one of her rescuers go on the run to keep her alive and safe.
Slade is an FBI agent that helped to bring down sex slave operation and, in the process, rescued Brandi. She was broken and scared but she found some of her fire while they were on the run. Slade has a history of bad relationships and isn’t quite sure if that is part of the reason he has feelings for Brandi, is it that he wants to fix her, protect her, or are his feelings real?
I really enjoy reading Ms. Rhodes’ books. They are action packed, Alpha packed, and full of overall great characters. They are strong, kind, loyal, and entertaining. This book has some intense moments and some hard situations, but it is done very well. The characters are enjoyable to read, the action and suspense keeps the pages turning, and the characters keep my interest. I love the suspense of what’s going to happen, who is involved, who can be trusted and who can’t. I also love how Brandi regains her strength and independence, but she knows that Slade will always be there for her and she can count on him. I love this book, the characters and the series, and I look forward to more of the Bastards and Badges books and characters to come. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it.

Hide and seek....

Someone wrecked my life to save their own worthless rear end and now I'm shackled to the damaged done to me.
Also their's a deranged woman out there who wants revenge and I'm wearing a big bright bullseye on my back.
Brandie certainly a one of a kind girl even with all the trauma she's suffer there's still a hint of defiance there especially when she's throwing things.
Even when my job took me in another direction I still believe the danger was still real even if no one else would listen.
So maybe I'm not all that crazy about listening to this lady who has a stupid way of asking questions.
But seriously all I want to feel in normal I kind of want what everyone else has.
I never expected for her to show up on my door step I'm not turning my back on her this time.
Unfortunately were having to play a very real game of hide and seek with a psychotic witch who wouldn't stop.
And on top of everything I can't help how I respond every time I'm anywhere near Brandie she pushes all of my buttons in the best way possible.
Brandie had been totally stunned by this latest twist and when she'd been ready to run like she was told but she never got a chance.

You know I love my Jackson however Slade is so close. Slade is not as intense as Jackson but you see a vulnerability in him. The interactions between Slade and Brandie are explosive and even though Brandie is a victim and she has issues, she will not let any man run roughshod over her. The story picks up right after the first book in this series (although you don’t need to read it to understand this story, but you will want to for the intensity of the situations presented in this story). I love suspense in stories and I never knew where the next villain was going to come from. Edge of seat. I was holding it together pretty well until the ending. It was explosive and full of passion. And oh yeah, I might have teared up a little bit. If you have not read Andi, you should definitely her a try.

Brandi and Slad have a very ruff beginning Brandi is trying to overcome trauma from her impisonment as a sex worker for and evil man and his even more vile and discusting daughter. Slad was her FBI protection but when not everyone had to face justice they go into hiding only one problem Slade has to go back to his job the FBI won't protect her anymore so Brandi disappears into Washington State until she's found now she needs Slade's help again.
Slade did his job he cared what happened to Brandi even if she drove him nuts then she was just gone. He tried to find her but she was running from her past a dangerous one then one day she's just there on his doorstep shes been found and someone brought the Washington State police into it whats going on and when will Brandi realize shes not a victim and that maybe there more then animosity between them.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Slade and Brandie. They meet when he is rescuing her from a human trafficking ring run by Sapphire and her father. But they are on the run and Slade is her FBI protector. When Brandie is forced to move on with her life since the FBI can't offer protection anymore, she moves to the state of Washington. When she starts getting weird text messages it puts her on edge. Slade wants to find Brandie to still protect her but he's doing it in his own time. When Brandie shows up unexpected at his home he vows to protect her. This is their story of protection, developing feelings, building a relationship and saving each other. A great HEA on the making.

The author brings strong, well developed characters , gives them a combustible chemistry and takes them on an action packed journey filled with danger and suspense, that had me glued to the pages. Book two picks up from the end of Book One with Slade and Brandie still on the run and Sapphire still at large. This story is full of romance, suspense, sadness, love, friendships, respect, understanding, life, strength, twists and turns. I enjoyed the duel story of solving the case and the development of their relationships. I am so pleased that Jett will have his story told in Book Three. I am enjoying reading this series and cannot wait to see what happens next.

Shade’s Fall (Bastards and Badges) by Andi Rhodes. I generally stay away from romantic suspense (get too anxious needing to know there is a HEA) but I felt a pull to this story after reading the blurb and let’s be honest the cover is pretty HOT too. I thought this book was good, it had plenty of dark drama, action, suspense, and steam. I felt a genuine connection between the main characters and the author’s storytelling and attention to detail kept me vested in the story, the characters and outcome. Slader's Fall was an exciting, excellent story! As an FBI agent, Slade is assigned to protect Brandie and their chemistry is off the charts. She just wants to get back to her normal life and he just wants to make sure she's safe. With all of the suspense that surrounds them, its really great when they finally accept that they are supposed to be together, while also keeping her protected. I have loved Andi Rhodes books and this is not any different

I had mixed feelings about this book and wanted to just hurry and read it so I could find out what happened. It started unexpectedly and then it had some surprises and I kept trying to second guess what was going to happen. Most of them were wrong. I ended up taking my time and enjoying this book and am so glad that I did. I should have remembered that I love reading Andi Rhodes’s books. As always she has done an outstanding job. Highly recommend this book. Loved it!

Book two in the Bastards and Badges series and it is a riveting read! A captivating on the edge of your seat read that is well developed, well written, emotionally deep, relatable, engaging, and is bursting with action, suspense, danger, drama, mystery, passion, intrigue, and so much more. The characters are strong and likeable; their chemistry is intense and off the charts. This book will take you on a wild ride and will put you through a number of heart wrenching emotions! Definitely recommended!

Wrecked...that's what Brandie is, wrecked. But in comes in Slade and sparks fly and they both question everything. Their chemistry is palpable but he is trying to protect her while she is trying to go back to her "normal" life. They are both pushed and it's beautiful to see when they finally can't escape their attraction anymore. There's not only passion here but suspense and danger to keep you on edge.

Slade is an FBI Agent assigned to protect Brandie. She was held and abused to pay off her boss' debt. When he is reassigned and she is released, he can't help worrying about her. When he looks for her to make sure she is safe, her captors are already on her trail. Hopefully, he can keep safe, because the attraction between them is building. A good, sexy read.

This was an outstanding book I loved Slade and Brandie they have an awesome chemistry together and want well together. She was held for months used to pay off her boss's debt, he's an FBI agent sworn to protect against the monsters of society and he's there to protect her. But she's more than a job to him and they have an explosive and passionate romance.

Loved Brandie's strength even if she didn't give herself enough credit and that Slade was able to see what was happening internally to Brandie, can't wait for book 3, hopefully hear more from our lil group too!! Think Chubby was the surrogate dad she needed!

Slade is an FBI agent, in charge of keeping Brandie safe, while someone evil from her past is trying to track her down. Slade does his best, but Brandie is reluctant to be kept contained. This is a well written book with strong characters in Slade and Brandie. The author had me captivated with all the suspense and romance. She brings it to life with detailed and descriptive scenes and moves the story fluidly. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

This is the 3rd book I've read written by Andi Rhodes; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

This is an action packed story with good twists and turns. It does contain some sensitive material but the plot is very captivating and interesting. I love the main characters! Brandie and Slade's story is thrilling read from beginning to end. The story has suspense, criminals, danger, passion and so much more.

Ok this is the first book in this series I have read and let me tell you I could not put it down! Brandie and Slade are so perfect both with emotional baggage both stubborn and both dead set on each other!

This is a very interesting story. It will keep your attention throughout. There is drama action danger mystery and abuse. there might be some triggers for some.
