Thank you to the author for allowing me to read her book in exchange for an honest review!

"Luxor smiled, entranced by the chaos even if she couldn’t recognize the repercussions it would have."

I’m going to start by saying I am seriously surprised this book hasn’t been talked about more! This is the author’s debut novel and you’d never guess that by reading this book! I was hooked as soon as I started reading the prologue! And that COVER? It’s beautiful!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past 30% as in a space of two chapters, the author wrote the MC as making two assumptions of other characters ‘seriously needing pills to calm down’ and ‘he is undoubtedly bipolar and missed his meds this morning’, completely unnecessary to the storyline.

I don’t find it amusing or okay to bring very serious mental health or invisible illnesses in as a ‘joke’ or snarky comment, even in fictional works, and

Firstly, lets give it a minute and adore the absolute beauty and perfection that is the cover of Unveiled.

Now I'd like to start this review by saying that this book began with a bang! Just having read through the prologue and I was already hooked. Luxor is your average high school elite with beauty, brains and a BFF. And popularity never hurts. She had been living a perfect life any school girl wishes for. Until one incident changes all of that and she is

Let's start with how gorgeous this cover is! Absolutely stunning, mix that with a very intriguing synopsis and I was hooked!
Luxor's story is shrouded in mystery. You truly never know what is really happening or going on in her life, or even in her dreams. There are some characters you just can't help but love, and some you just hate. Without giving any spoilers, this story kept me wanting to know more and I am looking forward to see how it all unfolds on book 2!

This story starts with a boom! You get plunged into the story with the prologue.  The detail is absorbing and you feel like you are in the high school hierarchy and all that entails.  This story is set in Australia in a small town with a cast of interesting characters.  If you are like me you get drawn to Hunter, there's too much confidence and mystery not to.  He's that slow burn, high school crush that I remember.  I'm rooting for Huxor 😊.  The action was intense and the book ends on an exciti ...more

I am in love with this book. I needed a refreshing different story but I love the genre. Jacklyn was able to include a new twist never seen before in one of my favorite book genres. Going to read this again ASAP! Can not wait to continue on this journey with Luxor.

Wow!!! The first thing that attracted me to this book was the gorgeous cover and blurb. From the start I was pulled in with all these paranormal aspects and there was never a dull moment as something was always happening. The characters were interesting especially Luxor and Hunter *swoon.* I CANNOT wait until the next book!!

Unveiled is an enchanting debut by author Jacklyn Daher.  After surviving a tragic accident, Luxor Everstone’s life is turned upside down.  As if moving to a new town and school wasn’t enough, her body has started to undergo a series of odd transformations.   Prompted by a school project, Luxor begins a search for answers about her past that reveals more than she bargained for.

This novel made me nostalgic for the days of Fallen and Hush, Hush.  It has been a while since I’ve read a new YA angels

I'm going to be completely honest - I was skeptical of this book. Between the description of this book and the first few chapters, this book seemed to slightly resemble "Fallen," by Lauren Kate. I loved that book, which is partially why I gave this book a shot. As the book progressed, though, the plot and characters portrayed their uniqueness. It took everything in me not to jump ahead in the book and unravel the secrets. (Okay, I'm guilty - I may have skimmed ahead a bit once or twice, but I co ...more

Unveiled was the first paranormal that I read after a long time. I was intrigued by the whole concept and by the darkness of the premise. But if I reread the synopsis, I am even more convinced that the main themes mentioned, were not well explored.

As soon as you start the book, you're introduced to a protagonist who has a great deal going on in her life: an attempt murder to her best friend, an uncontrolled rage that threatens to

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved the cover and the blurb. Everything I wanted in a PNR. I really struggled getting into the story at first. The thoughts of the characters and story didn’t flow as well as I wanted. At times I had to reread parts to make sure I didn’t miss something or to help it make sense. I felt it drug on a little bit and some of the editing was confusing. Words were missing or a word put in the wrong place when another one sh ...more

I was very excited to start this book based off the blurb, unfortunately it was difficult to get into. I struggled a lot with the beginning, I kept feeling like I had missed the first book and this was actually the 2nd. Things moved very quickly and didn't always flow well. I'm glad I stuck with it because about half way in it hooked me and I'm excited for book 2. For this being the authors debut, I'm excited to see how she grows and what is in store for her. ...more

The actual story bones are incredible. It’s unique, yet familiar. I loved the intrigue and the little puzzle pieces dropped throughout the book leading to the big reveal. There were moments when I felt as lost as Luxor, though, because there seemed to be missing dialogue or actions. Definitely give this story a chance, it’s worth the work of reading through and the ending is wrapped up so prettily.

This starts off with a girl who has a falling out with her best friend over a guy but it results in some very strange events and consequences for her. Her entire life begins to unravel and fall into chaos, she thinks she is going crazy most of the time. Honestly as a reader I questioned her sanity alot of the time. But as the story progressed I found that something otherworldly was happening and this poor girl has been lied to her entire life by the person she trust most her mom. Its hard enough ...more

I was so excited to read this book. The blurb sounds great and I absolutely love the cover. But I was disappointed. The beginning was very intriguing and I was hoping that the whole story would be like this. Unfortunately, it wasn't (for me). I had a feeling it was dragged too long. About halfway through the book, I finally felt an interest in the story. It became more intense and held my interest until the end. I think that if this book was shorter, it would be better. ...more

Interesting to say the least.
Right off the bat this fantasy starts off with a bang. So much happening there’s no lead up just bang. And somehow it worked. Throughout the story gradually unravels and and there was definitely elements that I hadn’t seen in a book before.
The plot is interesting, full of suspense and mystery and action, but it also has its unique twist which had me intrigued from the first chapter. You couldn’t help but want to dive deeper and with the rich, informative writing,
Book received from the author. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own.

This was an okay read for me. I do have quite a few negatives unfortunately. First, this is a LONG book--longer than it needed to be for sure. The same story could have been conveyed in less pages. I feel that much of the book was filler, so it wasn’t very exciting. I also found this to be a love child between Lauren Kate’s Fallen series and Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments. Can I just say before anything else, what a beautiful cover!

It took me what feels like forever to finish this book. Now normally if a book is a decent length, it means it’s a detailed story, giving depth to the characters contained inside, but this book seemed very wordy and mistakes with correct wording and grammar. I had to re read many passages, and chapters....

All of that said, the book starts with a pretty action packed scene involving Luxor and her best friend Verity. Popular, beautiful a

This is not my typical read, although I have read books about angels, demons, and such before. I will say this book took me a while to get into, and at times I was feeling a bit lost, there was so much going on, and so much of it wasn't making sense to me. But the longer I read, the more I enjoyed it and things became clearer. Luxor gets into a fight with her best friend, and crazy things happen, and it changes her life. So much tha

Unveiled was an incredible fantastical read! I was caught in a world where angels and demons existed, and it was incredible!

This book was full of mystery and wonder, and I couldn't help but be swept in it all. It was a magical read that kept me on the edge of my toes, and full of action, especially towards the end, not to spoil, but it is MY FAVOURITE scene ever in the book.

It was also slightly creepy. It sent chills in the atmosphere and kept me on my toes.

A new twist on a classic Nephilim story.

This cover is what drew me in, I love love love it!

Luxor is a teen girl with drama following her. Unbeknownst to her she isn’t really a normal teen, and her life is slowly unraveling to unveil the truth of what she is, who her friends are, and why that super beautiful boy is always hanging around.

Luxor is in serious denial, she has so many strange things happen and she either doesn’t ask the basic and obvious question (but focuses on the trivial

Luxor’s story is up and down. You don’t know what is going on fully. In the beginning it’s a bang. Then Luxor moves to a new place and starts a new school. She meets a few people like Evie, Ayla and Hunter. There is something going on but it seems like a secret that she has to figure out. The blurb from this story hooked me!

Although it’s longer than I usually read and took a little to get going, the back story is important and there are a lot of components at play.

I loved the layers of the characters. Enter Hunter who Luxor spent half of the time wanting to punch the cocky arrogance out of him and the other half playfully flirting and trying to figure him out.

There were a couple of timeline issues, a few grammar errors and a cliffhanger (I’m not afraid of a cliffhanger, I love
