Run for Cover by Michael Ledwidge is an action packed thriller and the second book in the series featuring Michael Gannon. The story largely takes place in several states but largely in Wyoming and Utah. Mike Gannon and his son are staying on John Owen’s ranch in Utah. When John’s brother is killed in Wyoming, Mike goes with him to retrieve the body. But there is more going on than meets the eye and Mike teams up with FBI agent Kit Hagen to find the killer.

Mike and Kit are compelling charact

Run for Cover, the second book in the Michael Gannon series, finds Mike laying low in Utah when his
friend's brother is killed in Wyoming. Owen Barber, a forest ranger, and the FBI team is ambushed
while investigating a murder scene near the Grand Tetons. The lone survivor, Agent Kit Hagen, joins
up with Mike and they start tracing down leads to a conspiracy. Action packed, fast paced thriller.
Looking forward to more with these two!

Between the pandemic affecting most of the country and snow blanketing a good deal of it, it’s understandable that people have decided to stay inside for the duration. May I suggest that you spend at least an evening of that downtime reading Michael Ledwidge’s RUN FOR COVER? It’s escapist literature at its very best.

This is the second installment in the Michael Gannon series, following STOP AT NOTHING, though you don’t have to be familiar with what has gone before to fully enjoy what is happenin

Another good, fast-moving story from Michael Ledwidge with evil people in the government (not all of them, just a few in key places) and the intrepid Mike Gannon to disrupt, frustrate and ultimately destroy their evil intent. A bit heavier on violence than the last one I read, but a good, engaging story with interesting characters.

One problem with the book: annoying editorial errors someone like Ledwidge and his team should not be making, e.g., 1) having Gannon four miles north of LAX and watch

In “Run for Cover,” Michael Gannon is living off the grid on a ranch in Utah with his teen-aged son after escaping a near-death run-in with government intelligence agents in the first book of the series, “Stop at Nothing.” When his best friend’s brother, an FBI agent and a sheriff are murdered while working a crime scene, Michael Gannon has no choice but to resurface. Teaming up with the only survivor of the massacre, FBI Agent Kit Hagen and his war buddy and owner of the Utah ranch, John Owen, ...more

When I got the Michael Ledwidge book "Stop for Nothing," I did not know that there was more than one book with Michael Gannon. But, I enjoyed it so much, that I was really glad to find "Run for Cover", the second one with Michael Gannon. This one is much like the first: high-ranking government official, corrupted by the pursuit of riches, is using all the people and tools at their disposal to line their pocket. The location has changed from the Gulf of Mexico to Montana and Utah, but the adventu ...more

When FBI agents and a forest Ranger are ambushed at a murder scene in the Tetons there is a lone survivor, Agent Kit Hagen. Kit is removed from the case and it appears the investigation has been shut down and swept under the rug. Kits partner was killed and she is determined to get justice for him, but there are some very powerful forces working against them. This is part of a series but it could be read as a stand alone. It is action packed and fast paced. You never know who to trust. Thank you ...more

Mike Gannon is my new Harry Bosch! Man, I wish there were more than two books to this series! What a thriller this was! So brilliantly and intricately detailed! This author know the FBI is corrupt and is calling them out in fiction! I especially liked the communist Chinese cameo and the spin off of that corrupt tech dude! I wonder who that could be a reference to?!? Awesome! I will read anything ledwidge writes. I’m a fan!

Recommended. Fast-paced, action-packed, Patterson-esque short chapters, which isn't a surprise, considering Ledwidge wrote plenty with JP.

Overall: a good, quick thriller that probably ins't quite as good as it's predecessor, but is still a fun ride. The only thing that I wondered about, with Gannon off the grid and - minor spoiler - ending up in the company of FBI agents, didn't ANYONE put two and two together and realise who he was? A minor quibble, and a good book.

Rated it five stars, and I’m sorry it couldn’t be ten.Ledwidge is a wonderful writer. Superb development of subject matter and characters. Creativity is off the charts. Writer just keeps getting better, and I will look forward to his next book.

I’ve been waiting for this book as soon as I found out it was coming. I loved book one, but this one was a little disappointing. It seemed slow about the first 2/3. The end is better, if not odd. I’ll still read the next one.

Must read

It’s just like James Patterson said in his review, I read it in a day. It was non-stop action and suspense.

Michael Ledwidge is the son of Irish parents and was born and raised in the Bronx. A graduate of Manhattan College, he is married and has two children.

As the co-author of a series of some of James Patterson’s most profitable books to date, Ledwidge has risen from an admired but, it’s fair to say, mostly unread author, to co-writing some of the most widely read books in the world. He’s made real mo
