Overall, the book is good, with two big BUTs: the application and the cookbook the author refers to are not available (hopefully, yet); and training regiment of 4 times/week for 1-1.5h is completely unrealistic for busy people...

A fascinating book that dives deep into optimal health and fitness! The author, Dr. Paul J. Arciero, does a great job explaining what drives our metabolism and our body’s reaction to the different foods we put into it. With this book and the app that goes hand in hand with the book, you can achieve your ultimate fitness and weight goals. He talks about protein pacing and what it means, different types of fitness, types of fasting, metabolism, and so much more!

What I really like about this book is how he explains everything. He breaks it all down into small chunks of information and then explains the small chunks by breaking that down into even smaller chunks. Makes everything easy to understand and incorporate into our daily lives. My favorite chapter of his book is on Metabolism. I learned that sometimes fasting can cause the opposite effect of what I am trying to achieve, which is weight loss. Our body goes into starvation mode and ends up holding on to fat and calories!

I would recommend this book to everyone, not just for fitness and weight loss, but for a healthier lifestyle change!

I wasn’t familiar with protein pacing prior to picking up this book, but it came highly recommended as I was consuming several books about gut health and the impact of the thyroid on overall health. While The PRISE Life doesn’t directly discuss these topics, it was an interesting read about the impacts of focusing on the amount of protein in what we eat. With numerous eating plans such as Paleo emphasizing high protein consumption, I found this to be an eyeopener as to what draws people to those plans. It’s important to note that before utilizing what you read in this book, you should speak with your doctor as to whether it’s a good choice for you. Personally, it is not in my best interest to follow the PRISE plan, but I still enjoyed reading The PRISE Life and learning about health habits that are being researched.

There are certainly no shortage of books out there that talk about health, fitness and general wel-being but the book, The Prise Life goes far more in-depth than do most books geared toward health and fitness. Backed by scientific evidence, Dr. Paul J. Arciero explains the reasoning behind his dietary and workout plans. Also included in the book are links to Dr. Arciero’s website and social media links for any reader with questions or looking for more detailed information about topics discussed in the book.
What I really liked about this book, The Prise Life however is the holistic approach that Dr. Arciero takes to health and fitness. There are sections about mental health and stress management included in this book as well.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to live a healthy lifestyle and achieve optimal performance, both physically and mentally.

We’ve all heard at least once in our life, that Protein is the building block of life. Dr. Paul Arciero embodies this fact within his book “The PRISE Life: Protein Pacing for Optimal Health and Performance.” Protein is what makes us, as humans, look alive. It gives us vitality and strength. I enjoyed learning about the ways to integrate protein into my lifestyle, especially as someone who struggles to pace how much I’m consuming daily. I’d recommend this book to anybody who is looking to micromanage their protein consumption for the betterment of their health. I’ve done so and I don’t regret it! Protein makes a difference, and I’m glad Arciero reminded me of this!

The real healthy lifestyle

This is a very well researched and thought out book on what a healthy lifestyle really means. Dr. Paul Arciero has more than thirty years of experience in research as a scientist, so we know this is sound advice. I’ve read before that the timing of what you eat is critical and how much of what types of food you eat can change your life. So, I love the protein pacing principle. This is more than a diet and fitness book because it focuses on principles that ensure human health, fitness, and performance. Dr. Arciero also reminds us that it’s not just about what we feed our body but what we feed our mind as well. Fantastic book!

Keep your eyes on the PRISE, the PRISE app

This was an awesome book relating the benefits of combining scientifically proven data and a positive mindset to achieve health and whole-body wellness. The author doesn’t just go into giving unproven advice, but gives personal background as well as his scientific data on health. The author does promote more of a plant based way of living, which isnt for everyone. But core principles are still the same in most peoples health journey; combining exercise and fitness with a well-balanced diet.

The author goes into some detail about his background and motivation and shares his expertise with you. There is an app that goes along with the program for those who enjoy that methodology and reinforcement. Overall a solid approach to improving your health and life.

This is such a nice read about wellness and health. The auth gave a lot of helpful tips for people who want to start a protein paced diet and for those who just want to improve their overall wellness and lifestyle. The book is easy to understand and provided real-life examples for the readers to easily relate to the content of the book.

This book was awesome for me because im learning how to diet and workout. Protein is so important for a healthy diet, which i knew but never understood why. Well this book has educated me a lot on why it is good and how to incorporate it into my daily diet. Being healthy begins with knowledge on how to do so! I loved this book! It will find its home in my home gym.

Excellent book about achieving optimal health through food and exercise. I love that it is not a 'fad' diet. This is a very well-researched book written by a nutrition scientist who has a lot of research to back his program. Highly recommended for anyone who needs guidance on building more muscle or losing weight or simply wants to just age with grace.
