Excellent. Well written and thought out story. Characters that are memorable. There is much in this world that is unknown and may never be known. Abilities such as these portrayed in the story have always fascinated me. I recognized instances referring to Dine beliefs. I always wanted the means to study mythology and try to find the beginnings. Also what seems like to good to be true special abilities such as portrayed here. Way back in by gone years there was something that gave some people the mind to accept and use these unknown abilities. Healers always show up in past history. Even today. Is it just a malfunction in the mind. I don't think so. I have personal reasons to have an open mind.

Meaningful Dystopian Story

So many dystopian books are the same, but this story is different. Instead of the characters struggling to cling to their old way of life, these characters look to the wilderness for a new way of life. The book has beautiful imagery, credible primitive living skills and genuine characters. The book also explores some spiritual challenges that brings depth to the story. It's a great book for adults and having a teen protagonist makes it an excellent read for young adults.

This was a very good book. I couldn’t believe I was so soon absorbed by people called, The boy, the grandfather etc. I hard such a hard time putting it down. Such an intriguing storyline. Just starting book II and I’m so excited to get going but have to charge my Kindle.
