Mikel

I'm old enough to be her father, but it doesn't matter -- she'll be mine.

Melody is the newest member of The Clans charity program. She's supposed to be my voice for certain issues I don't feel comfortable speaking about. After all, she's been doing this for years. Being a spokesperson is somewhat new to me, so I don't mind having a professional alongside me.

She doesn't know anything about what we really do, and keeping it all a secret is becoming more difficult every day. She's constantly around me, always listening, always needing to bring an idea to me. Typically in a shirt that hugs her tits a little too tight and her ass just to my liking.

Melody doesn't know I'm lying about who I am, or rather, what I am.

She thinks I'm an angel. In all actuality, I'm the exact opposite. She doesn't know it yet, but she will. Whether it be by my real job, or by my presence in the bedroom.

I have been writing since I was just 4 years old, starting with poetry and short stories. Writing has always been in my blood, and I began writing as a professional in marketing and ghostwriting almost 7 years ago. After writing thousands of things for others, I decided it was time to share my own things with the world. I hope to start doing this full time and be at least somewhat of a success.

Such a great series. Another fast paced action packed storyline with updates of the other clan families. This story was about Mikel and Melody. These two started working together to stop the war lords who are trafficking children. Melody ends up getting attacked by the war lords at the school they are building for the kids. They have a great chemistry and finally Melody realizes that she really is in love with Mikel. This story really brings to the front line with the South African war lords and the issues of the use of children. Great story. Can't wait to read the next story. This book is so good! Melody’s new job has her working with Mikel Lungus, head of the Romanian clan. Mikel is in charge of the clan’s charity to stop child trafficking. The tension between Melody and Mikel is palpable. This book is full of twists and turns, intense, and amazing chemistry. An incredible story and I highly recommend it.

This is book twelve in The Clans series. Luckily it can be read as a stand-alone as I’ve not read the previous books.

Melody and Mikel are total opposites with an age gap between them. The chemistry between them is hot.

Great read and I can’t wait to read more.

Flawed (The Clan #12) is another great addition in this amazing series, Mikel is a Clan leader operating out of South Africa and is giving a job once again by his Queen. He is needed to work on the Clan's charity to stop the war lords in South Africa from child trafficking. He is about to meet a young woman who is going to open up his heart as he will be drawn to this curvaceous beauty. Melody was chosen by Marianna to work with Mikel as she has been working with children and knows she will be the right person to work closely with Mikel. The interaction between these two becomes explosive at their first meeting, can this older, sexy man finally give love a chance once more forgetting the pain from his past? These two will embark on a fast steamy relationship which will take both of them by surprise. When Melody is injured after the school is attacked by the war lords, Mikel faces the fact that he loves her? When Melody informs Mikel that she needs to know everything he is hiding from her in order to move forward, will she leave him when she learns that he is part of the Romanian Mafia? Hearts will be broken by Melody's decision until she is forced to come to terms that she loves Mikel and made a mistake leaving him. Now when the school is targeted again and Mikel is taken, Melody reaches out to her friends the Steele Brothers for help. So many twists and turns as you will find yourself on edge as the drama continues, rescuing a clan member's taken baby, a church bombing, the Italian Mafia continuing their vendetta against the Clans, the loss of loved one and finally retribution. Wishing for more about Mikel and Melody relationship, but can't wait to see how the drama unfolds when we get Bianna's story. Once again Iris Sweetwater and Elizabeth Knox has done an outstanding job with this Clan Series. Well done ladies!

She finds more than she ever expected to by moving to South Africa

Flawed is the twelfth book in The Clans series and is definitely not a flawed book. It is the story of Mikel and Melody and is one heck of a deliciously dirty and sexy adventure of a story and a trip to a new country, South Africa. Mikel and Melody are about as opposite as can be. He is the head of the Romanian Mafia in South Africa and older. She is young woman who is gentle, sweet and does good by working with children. But when Marianna, the Queen of the Clans, creates a new charity to help save, educate and give a new future to child soldiers she puts Mikel in charge of the project and picks Melody to set it up and oversee it. This puts Melody and Mikel together and in more ways than one. Melody has had to move to South Africa and she moves into Mikel's house for at least the time being which just results in even more attraction between them. But he war lords will not just let their soldiers go so freely and there is danger and so much more. At the same time Melody has an ever growing idea that Mikel is not quite what he presents himself to be. But can she be with someone who may be doing good but at the same time is not good.

This story is very interesting and engaging. It had me biting my nails more than once and for very different reasons. The characters are nicely developed and the story-line is a roller-coaster of a ride.

I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Mikel is the Romanian Clan leader in South Africa. He is the last single clan leader. Mikel was engaged to Jessica and they had a daughter Lynn but Jessica decided she didn’t want to live the clan life and left with Lynn. Mikel didn’t want her to tell secrets of the clan so he let her go. Mikel runs diamond mines for the clan. Mikel is starting up a charity for women and children. Melody has been working with charities for years and she specializes in children. She just lost her job and is looking for something else. She finds a new charity called Hopeful Futures and she is puts information in the website. Mariana the Queen of the Clan contacts Melody and after the interview she hires Melody. Melody will have to move to South Africa. Melody has been dating a guy Carson for three years so she needs to break up with him. Mariana invites Melody to a party announcing the charity. Melody meets Mikel for the first time, he is an older man but still sexy. Mikel knows when he meets Melody that she is the one he wants. They end up having a sexual encounter that night. Melody wants to keep things on a business level. Melody gets burned when the school house they built was bombed. Melody decided that she did want to be with Mikel but she wanted to know everything he was involved with. Once she found out she left the country. Mikel was kidnapped when the new school house was built. Will Melody change her mind about Mikel? Will she realize that she loves him? Will Mikel be found in time? Who kidnapped Mikel? Will Mikel and Melody get married?

Mikel is head of the Romanian Mafia in South Africa, and at the behest of Marianna, the Queen of the Clans, a new charity is being created to take children from being forced soldiers and giving them somewhere nice to live, education and a future rather than a probable bullet...but they needed a well-versed person with non-profit knowledge, an advocate for disenfranchised children and Melody fit the bill to a tee...there was a problem of a three-year relationship that she figured would go to a long-distance relationship which would soon fizzle out, but she was ready for a move to South Africa. After being recruited by Marianna, and having met Mikel, a handsome, older man who headed the organization, she was set for the adventure...finding the land, getting the buildings started, furniture and classroom supplies kept her busy, almost so she didn't notice the meetings, often at night, or the wounded men sometimes brought to Mikel's house where she resided until she felt comfortable living on her own...and a budding relationship between Melody and Mikel was unfolding...but rumors abounded about diamond's with a Mafia connection and after a fire at the new school, she wanted to know what was going on...but you will need to read this interesting, twisting and turning story, possibly meet some old friends from Atlanta who help Melody to see what happens...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved this book. Melody and Mikel’s story was another excellent book by Elizabeth Knox. She wrote a love story of how a woman like Melody who advocates for others especially children falls in love with as she says “ a bad man who is good to me...” Mikel and Melody fell into love fairly quickly and Melody fights it and eventually when she found out the truth of who and what Mikel is as she believes that her morals will not permit her to love Mikel. When she hears Mikel was missing and the school she had helped to bring about in Africa for abused children that she realizes life is too short and she wants Mikel anyway she can have him. Mikel and Melody are so easy to relate to and you really want to have their HEA that you are cheering them on while you read. The ending gave me mixed feelings. I won’t say what happened as I don’t want to spoil the story for you. But I will say that the ending is not one that you will expect but this story is very much a series and is a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the last book in this series. While I love the series and don’t want to see it it I really want to see what will happen in this last book. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It goes without saying that I highly recommend this book.

The next Clans book involves Mikel and Melody. There story is action packed, high drama, and intense. I mean really intense. More intense than some of the previous books. Mikel has a joint venture with Mariana and the Clans. They need someone to "run" the charity in Africa and that's where Melody comes into the picture. You can feel the tension almost immediately between Melody and Mikel. Believe me, it gets even more intense---especially on Melody's part. What happens when you fall for someone that isn't quite who they seem? Well, that's Melody's dilemma.

What I loved about this book besides the usual fast paced and action packed storyline is the background information and updates about the Clan families. At times, you can feel the Clans are growing but you don't hear as much about the next generation. This book will answer some of those questions. However, be prepared to grab some tissue and more drinks. It's gut wrenching in some ways because there's loss, but also love. Will the Clans ever find peace? That's the question everyone wants answered.

I highly recommend this book! I received an ARC via Booksprout so I could voluntarily leave a review. As always, I will purchase this book because I love the series. Get ready because the next story is going to be even hotter.

Flawed is the 12th book in The Clan series and although this is a series of interconnected books, I have skipped around and read different books in no particular order. Elizabeth Knox is great at giving you context for each story so I feel these can be read and enjoyed as standalone. I've liked some much better than others, Mikel and Melody's story is a good one. Mikel is an older head of the Romanian Mafia in South Africa, he was born and raised to be in The Clan. He is told by the Queen of the Clan to create a charity to rehabilitate child soldiers. Melody is perfect to run the charity with her experience. The chemistry between these two is hot and Melody naively falls into a relationship the with older, exciting Mikel, not seeing the suspicious things going on around him. When she is forced to see what he is, she runs. The book is well paced, has great twists and turns, plenty of action, and steam. Can she love him as he is? A great addition to The Clan series and you can read for free with your KU subscription.

Mikell is the clan leader in south Africa who is given the job to work the Clans  charity to stop the war lords who are trafficking children. The clan queen choses Melody to work along side Mikel, she was chosen because she has been working with children.

When Melody is injured after the school is attacked by the war lords, Mikel faces the fact that he loves her? When Melody informs Mikel that she needs to know everything he is hiding from her in order to move forward, Will she leave him when she learns that he is part of the Romanian Mafia? The one thing I loved about this story is brings to light an important issue with the South African war lords and the use of child soldiers

Melody and Mikel's difficult love affair!
by sewsummore

Mikel was the South African Clan leader. At fifty years of age, he had accepted that he would never marry. Melody was passionate about protecting the children in war-torn countries. The non-profit Organisation that employed her had made it their mission to help the kids get better and safer homes, but due to lack of funding had closed down. It was due to Melody's previous work that she earned a new job in an Organisation name "Hopeful Futures working with Mikel. The attraction between the two of them was there from the beginning, but it was not until Melody is harmed that she discovered the truth about Mikel and his role in a worldwide mafia organization. Despite the love between them, Melody leaves and returns to the US. Their story doesn't end here because Mikel is kidnapped. I enjoyed reading about Melody's work and her relationship with Mikel.

Damn where to begin in not allowed to swear so that rules that out for this review but just know that after finishing this book there were quite a few F bombs and feet stomping I put my 5yr old daughter to shame.
I'm just going to say the epilogue quite literally discounted the rest of the book for me I couldn't even remember Mikel lol.
Poor Mikel having thought he had it all years ago only to be shattered left him feeling like he was never going to get that happy ending so many of the other clans men are having. Yet in walks Melody with her smoking curves and sets the salt and pepper man on fire.
Melody can't help falling for her so called boss yet no matter how much she wants to save kids she never thought it could put her life at such risk. Will the love of Mikel and his safety be enough for her to put her fears aside and stand with her Romanian clans man.
As always Im left reeling and waiting for the next one.

This story, Flawed is the 12th book in The Clan series and I have not read any of it but I wish I had, I didn’t realize It was a series at the time I agreed. I enjoyed it, but,I think I would have enjoyed it more had I read the books in order although from which I have read in the reviews, the series is interconnected but the books can be read as stand alone’s in any order. I plan to start at the beginning and work my way through. This book is about Mikel and Melody'. Mikel is an older head of the Romanian Mafia in South Africa, he was born and raised to be in The Clan. He is told by the Queen of the Clan to create a charity to rehabilitate child soldiers. Melody is perfect to run the charity with her experience. I enjoy mafia stories, some of the angst was a bit difficult but, overall, a good story.

Flawed is the latest installment of the Clans series. Again, you have to read the previous stories, or the story won't make as much sense, and you'll miss the cameos of previous characters. Melody moves to South Africa to build a charity from the ground up with Mikel. She knows he's not exactly who he portrays himself to be, but the chance to finally be happy is too strong to keep away from her handsome boss...

Old foes and friends move in and out of the story like beautifully timed dancers executing a waltz. Beautiful, tragic, and yet hopeful for the future of the Clans. As a warning... There is a bit of a cliffhanger, but the main story ends happily as can be in the Clans.

This was a fast and lovely read. Well worth reading twice.

This is the 12th book in The Clan series although the books are interconnected, I haven't read all them but you are given enough context by the authors for each story that you can, I think, read and enjoy them as a standalone.

Mikel and Melody's story is dark at times but still enjoyable. Mikel is head of the Romanian Mafia in South Africa. Born and raised knowing he would be a member of The Clan. He's been instructed to create a charity to rehabilitate child soldiers and because of her experience Melody is chosen to run the charity. The chemistry between these two very different people is palpable and hot. But when she is forced to face who and what Mikel is she decides to run!

The book is well-written and flows well, has many twists and turns, lots of action, intrigue and heat. But will she be able to love him despite who he is?

Mikel and Melody fought there attraction for one another for awhile when Melody starts working with Mikel on the Charity that helps find children and save them and get them back to health, to family's, a roof over them that is safe, and schooling. Mikel was hurt in the pasted and didn't want to open his heart to anyone but he is fighting his feeling for Melody. When Melody comes to work with Mikel she moves in with him and he fights so hard for her to not find out the truth about what he is and what he does for a living but once she does find out she fights her feels for him. But their love can't be broken and she makes her choice. Their story is amazing! I can not wait to find out more about The Clans in Bianca's story!!

I can’t believe that this series is almost at an end! Melody's new job in South Africa puts her with Mikel Lungus, head of the Romanian clan. Not only is the story of their coming together fast-paced but the events affecting all the Clans are at a fever-pitch level. There is never a quiet moment while being part of the Clans, and Melody experiences the violence first hand. I was absolutely gob-smacked by the end of the book! I love that the plot of the series carries itself across the books. Don’t read this book if you're new to the series-it will contain spoilers for the previous books, and the storyline will make less sense.

I love Melody! She is so pure and sweet and kind. Everything that a mafia wife should be, right? She is so much more and her love for children and her work ethic made her the perfect person to work with Mikel. They come together so perfectly and his darkness does not outshine how pure and good she is. I love the way that even though they have so many things come against them that in the end Melody sees her forever. Watching how all the clan members have grown and moved forward through the series has been amazing and this book is no different in seeing how well developed all the characters are even in the small snippets (even the Steeles)! I am totally not ready for the next book even though I want to know what happens next.

The Clan series just keeps getting better and better and Flawed is no exception. Mikel has to go to the States to meet with Mariana and, even though Mikel doesn't like being in the States, nobody refuses the Queen of The Clans. He's going to be doing work for The Clans in South Africa helping rescue children who are being purchased for use by the Army there. Melody, an advocate in the States, is offered a job at Hopeful Futures by Mariana. Melody will be working with Mikel. She readily agrees to move to South Africa. Mikel is attracted to Melody but because of his past he has his heart locked down tight. This book is compelling, exciting, full of action and at times, heartbreaking. Page by page I just couldn't get enough.

Flawed by Iris Sweetwater and Elizabeth Knox is book 12 in The Clans series. This one follows Melody and Mikel. She’s a spokesperson for a program that works to stop child trafficking in South Africa. Mikel is a clan leader charged with working alongside her in the program. MUCH happens in this story that keeps you intricately involved in the story….you want so much for them to work out!!

I just LOVE everything from Elizabeth Knox…she’s a talented writer and her stories are always absorbing, thought-provoking, and deeply romantic!!! What a great story!!

wow another amazing book in the Clans series. This book is the story of Melody and Mikel who are brought together when they both on a charity for the Clans and Melody is taken to South Africa to work at a school for children who are rescued from child traffickers. So much happens in this book that you do not get a chance to sit down because you are literally jumping up from your seat every few pages. Lots of chemistry between Melody and Mikel and, once again, an amazing story line that will keep you captivated until the very end. Absolutely loved the plot twist at the end of this book and I cannot wait for the next installment of this fabulous series.

This is Book 12 of The Clans series. What a well written, intriguing read. This is a page turner and is impossible to put down and will keep you on the edge of your seat. The story is about Mikel, who is the Clans Leader in South Africa, and Melody, who is a new member of a charity program rescuing children from human trafficking. Melody was chosen for this position due to her previous experience working with children. The warlords, of whom the children are rescued from, seek retaliation and attack the facility where the children are being kept.

This is the 12th book in the Clans Series. Another great book in this series. This is Mikel and Melody’s story. Melody is offered a job with a charity that she just can’t pass up even though it will be out of the country. Mikel is overseeing this charity and is much older than Melody. Both Melody and Mikel are instantly attracted to each other but the both make excuses why a relationship with each other would be a bad idea. Mikel is also into other areas of buisness that Melody knows nothing about. As they work together closely, sparks continue to fly. Will they be able to resist each other?

I do not know why I adored this one maybe because he was older but alas sometimes would like it turned around too. Mikel has a name that is not heard too alot another plus. He needs a hand that is when he meets her. Melody has a job that is not easy for alot of people and could use her knowledge. Some have such a talent for speaking like her. The front though will sooner or later have the back break through and oh baby do we want to watch out when a woman gets upset. The heat fizzles and burns our fingers. The rollercoaster though will wreck our hair and tingle our toes with us readers having no other way.

This book started off steady and kept up to the very end. I also liked that some characters from other books made an appearance in this book. The danger and charity work were a nice touch to the story. There was violence but not as much as other books. It was a solid plot, great characters. There was happiness and sadness. In the end it all came together. I also liked the epilogue, where is was part of the story it also gave a glance into possibly another book. I will be reading more from the Clans.

OMGosh!!! This has jumped to my favorite of this series. It is a little different than the others, but that’s what makes it so good. Mikel and Melody are just a perfect match. They are each other’s other half. Melody is such a sweet and kind hearted person who is taking a job across the world to help kids in S Africa. Mikel and Melody will be working closely setting everything up to keep the kids safe and out of the men who want them for their armies. You need to read this to find out what happens. I will warn you, you will need tissues nearby. This writing duo has done it once again and has made me love these Clan men and their wive again.
