Sooooo, I really loved Call me Yours so I already had high expectations when I read this one.
The relationship and the personalities of Jessica and Alex were amazing and they complemented each other so perfectly! I loved their dialogues and love scenes, and also how we - the reader - gets to know how their relationship works out after the first few dates and while having proper jobs. The additional twist with their jobs (Jess being a detective, Alex a police officer) was what made the story special.
But unfortunately, I was not as convinced with their love story as with Zoe & Noah. Also, the way they got together in the end felt a bit rushed and forced. And very hollywood-like which was actually not bad in general! So, overall I really liked reading this but the ending felt too abrupt. I wished there would have been few more pages to close up Jess' and Alex's love story properly.

When Hollywood police patrolman Alex Copeland, along with roommate Rex , bravely fought to rescue children and a dog from their burning apartment little did he know that his life was about to change forever.
Detective Jessica Valvarde was at the scene of the fire and was instructed to stay with the injured officers, When Jess informed them that they couldn't return to their gutted apartment she offered her spare room .....Alex jumped at the chance, even though Jess was senior to him and five years older she had been the subject of his dreams, he had flirted with her and asked her out on many occasions but she had just laughed sweetly.
When Alex moved in Jess was pleasantly surprised that he didn't live up to the playboy image that she had of him and they became close even though it was against the rules for officers in the same station to have a relationship without declaring it.
This is an emotional love story with heartache, tragedy, police corruption and doubt but most of all the all encompassing love between Jess and Alex and the objects they had to overcome on their journey. It also illustrates the difficulties that women face in the police department especially if they are of a different race and the power of friends when you hit rock bottom.
This is a lovely emotional story beautifully told.

“The one thing I could not ever imagine was a world without you in it.”
Savannah, why?? To say this book gave me so many feelings would be an understatement. I got to the point that I just wanted the book to be over so I could get off this emotional rollercoaster.
Jessica and Alex's story will gut you and heal you all in one. Well, at least partly heal you. I'm still not ok after having just finished this book.
I had a love/hate relationship with this book but ultimately I loved it. This author has a gift to make you feel and identify with the characters in the story. I loved getting into what makes Jessica Jessica. I loved Alex's character. Seriously, just go read this book!

#3 in a series of steamy friends to lovers romances, this one tells the story of Jessica Valverde and Alex Copeland. The thing I like best about this series is the way that Kade develops the friendships between the group of women--they feel like women I might have hung out with when I was their age, and they support and challenge each other in ways that real friends would. This story about two police officers includes some interesting elements of criminal procedural and action that I didn't expect in a romance novel, but made the story more compelling. Characters are fleshed out so that you care about them and root for them. Very satisfying read!

Yet another pair of characters who just can't stay apart. I love how well Savannah Kade gives characters careers they are passionate about, in this case police officer/detective, as well as rounding them out with full personalities.
I really enjoy how Savannah Kade weaves her characters into other books (even across series). Her books work well if you've missed a book or gone out of order, but when put together it's like old friends you get to peek in on again and say hello.

Savannah brings out emotions in this story that keeps the reader coming back. You can’t help but become involved in Jessica’s and Alex’s story. Great job. Looking forward to reading about Bree and Marco.

Sometimes you need to just let people in.
Jessica is a detective with the Hollywood Police Department and is regularly asked out by Alex. But she thinks he’s too young and she is better alone. But when his apartment burns and she offers him her spare room.
And doing so lets her get to know him better. And she sees what a great guy he is. And he’s only a few years younger, not almost a decade like she thought.
But she is used to being on her own and doesn’t know how to rely on others. So when her partner dies in the line of duty, she closes everyone out.
Jessica and Alex get their happy ending in this stand-alone book in a series.
There were parts of the book that seemed to drag and make the book seem longer. There also didn’t really seem to be an ending to the book and the last chapter was the first chapter of the next book.
