Royal Conquest Saga #5

The Golden Prince

Rate this book
Never cross a Fae prince. And for Sky's sake, don't fall in love with one determined to ruin you.

Crispin

Lark Elmray is a show-off and a shameless flirt. The highborn females don't understand the game he's playing, but I do.

Everything changed after he became the golden boy, protector of the crown and a powerful wielder of fire magic. Get too close and he's likely to light a faerie on fire.

I made the mistake of mocking him as a child. Lark hasn't forgotten. I can see it in the wicked gleam of his eyes every time he looks my way. But that's not the worst of it. To admit the truth would burn me from the inside out before Lark ever conjured a single flame.

Lark

Half elf. Half Fae. For most of my life, the illustrious citizens of Dahlquist scorned me for being a halfling prince born into an unconventional family. The gentry would sooner sneer than curtsy . . . Until I showed them what I was capable of. Now they fawn and clamor for my favor. But I will never forget past cruelties. I will make them regret every insult to me and my family. At the top of my list is Crispin Maglen, Earl of Ashcraw.

He'll always be at the top. But there's no taking him down. Not unless I fall with him.

It's all getting a bit out of control. I have family squabbling over me, females flinging themselves into my arms, assassins and kidnappers trying to take me down . . . And don't get me started on the monster in the forest.

The Golden Prince is an enemies to lovers, slow burn, M/M romance filled with humor, adventure, steam, and magical creatures. Don't miss the bloopers at the end of the book!

Complete, standalone novella. Can be read on its own. Second generation, Royal Conquest Saga heirs.

Reality is overrated ... which is why I write!

Vampire hunters, wolf shifters, witches, elves and Fae with humor, romance, snark and steam. I love bad boys with hearts of gold and heroines who kick ass.

Great continuation to the series. Though this is a M/M relationship & I normally won't read that sort of thing, it was done tastefully. I really liked the opening ball, and picturing all the undersea type clothes they were all wearing. The tension between Lark & Crispin is off the charts, and they are perfect for each other. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

It’s great to be back in the Royal Conquest world. This story is with the children of the original characters from the first books. This is a M/M relationship story and it’s not my sort of thing to read. However, author Nikki Jefford does a great job keeping it tasteful and entertaining. It’s a great story about love. Nikki Jefford also does such a great job with continuing to build this world. I am looking forward to what is up with the next daughter or son of the next generation in the next book.

The royals are back! So excited to see the next generation in each of their novellas. Oh how I love Lark! He is snarky, cunning, funny, confident and oh so swoon-worthy. I was definitely surprised to see the m/m romance but it definitely worked. I would kinda love to see a novella about Kenzie in the future too. She’s so sassy. Super excited for Fraya’s Novella up next.

The Elmarys are back in spectacular fashion. This time the adventure centers around the next generation of young royals. Lark Elmary, Lyklor, Ryo and Mel's son, is living he best life being crowned prince of Dahlquist. He has females throwing themselves at him left and right, but it's only one person he's got eyes for. Can his arch nemesis, Crispin, became his lifetime mate? Lark and Crispin's chemistry sizzles off the pages.

Not to be outdone by his parents or aunt Arieth, Lark embaks on an adventure to revival theirs. This book has passion, witty banter, action, and of course adventure along with mystical creatures and great feats of bravery. There are new characters to love, and hate, as well as old favorites. Nikki Jefford delivers another great installment in this magnificent series. Crispin and Lark's love story will be one for the ages. A definite 5 plus star rating.

I have loved every book in this series to date but I think this one was my favourite!!

Lark is living his best life as Crowned Prince of Dahlquist. He has all the women he could ever want practically throwing themselves at him but he doesn't want any woman he wants Crispin, his arch nemesis. The connection between them is so damn hot I'm surprised sparks weren't flying off my kindle.

Nikki has outdone herself with this one, she has brought passion, humorous banter, and plenty of action. Once you start it you will not want to put it down until you've finished it but then once you've finished it you will want to go back and read it again.

The story confuses me somehow. Despite spilling and stirring hatred to each other, Lark and Crispin has woven their bond, and I was bewildered by that..... but the love grew exponentially as they fought relentlessly and fervently for their only and first mate.

Crispin is such a pompous and stubborn prick, saying contradictory things, denying his ulterior motives and yearing and longing.
It was so frustingly annoying.(but it's his charm)

Lark is such an honest and implusive prince, slaying every obstacle with his flame, obsessing of his own mate.

Love makes us do crazy things, and it could never be truer for both of them.

What an adventure for the charming Golden Prince, Lark. He is so swoon worthy and such a flirt. He definitely broke a lot of ladies hearts when he found his soulmate. He steps up to fight for the love that has just revealed itself and it leads them on an unexpected path that brings forth just how strong their love is for each other. The book is a little different but is just as amazing as the rest of the series including the introduction of new mythical creatures. I am so looking forward to the next adventure.

Love is Love💛
A golden companion to the royal conquest saga! This can be read as a stand-alone because the trilogy is over and this is just about the young heirs lives! I loved lark when he got introduced as a young boy and its nice to se who he turn out to be! Love has no boundaries, color, race and sex. This boy always knew who he wanted 💙 m/m romance. This was new to me reading an M/M romance without a female lead (menage or RH) and i was surprised i enjoyed it. i read it with my kindle unlimited 💋

Help, I've taken a portal back to Dahlquist, and I can't get out. Nor do I want to! Not with all these good looking faes, elves, and half fae/half elf around. Plus the adventures, action, witty banter, and intense, soul soaring love found here. You will find me in the manor down the road watching (or reading in this case) with a cup of sweet berry tea.
The Golden Prince delivers everything the first four books have only in a quick, amazing read. The second generation is kicking butt and taking names. I strongly recommend The Golden Prince.

I was surprised to find myself enjoying this book! I always enjoy Nikki Jefford's writing style, so even though male/male romances are not my cup of tea (it took me a while to figure out what an "M/M romance was), I enjoyed the story. It is fun to see Lark grow and mature. Looks like he will be a really good ruler in the future, especially with the mitigating influence of Crispin.

I so enjoyed going back to Dahlquist and seeing the prince grown up. Nikki as always delivers on the ability to bring this world to life! What a fun and deep story. With a twist you don’t expect! 😉 If you haven’t read the series I Definitely recommend it! I can’t wait to read the next edition in the Royal Conquest Saga!

The Golden Prince is the 5th book in The Royal Conquest Saga, and as per each before it, Nikki Jefford will hook you instantly with this story.

This story filled with fae, magic, and love will capture your heart as we get to read all about Lark *swoon*

I love that author has taken the plunge with this MM fantasy love story, as it further explores the world previously built.

I had no idea until I started this book, how much I needed Lark’s story. But finding out that Alok and Fraya’s story is up next, has left me on the edge of my seat waiting for The Dark Pretender.

Hate Love

XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. The switch from enemy to lovers was unbelievably abrupt. Otherwise the story reminded my of my friends Lewis and Roger. I got to go to their ceremony and it was just as heartwarming! The desire to protect and save one another and their family was precious.

Favorite Quote:
“I’m going back,” I said.
“No, you’re not.” Folas stepped up to me, puffing out his chest. It was like a wall of muscle coming at me.
“You can’t stop me.”
“Maybe I can, and if not, I can follow you and drag your princely ass back to Dahlquist as many times as you make me.” Folas flashed me a wicked grin.

This is one of the best books that I have read. It moves along at a really good pace making for an enjoyable read. The characters are amazing and seem so real that you feel as though you know them personally and no matter what you want to be there for them. The story will keep you interested and reading till the end. This is a must read, no doubt about it.

The Golden Prince....just absolutely incredible!!!! I’m a huge fan of MM but I find it very hard to find fantasy MM that’s just fun to read so many are very dark and serious. What this author has written is just so fun and full of colour!!! The tone of this story is wonderful I loved Lark and Crispin so much. Thank you for just cheering me up today with this fantastic and vibrant tale. 5 stars!

This book is really good. I normally don't go to MM romance, but the author really made me more open and wanting to read more books in this genre. The book was really action packed with a good amount of fantasy. I loved setting and seeing the characters from the previous books appear.

I loved Lark's novella! The progression of his character is so perfect and made me appreciate him even more when thinking back to Holiday Crown. Although he reminds me of Liri, probably why he fits in, he is all Mel. His story is so touching and I'm so in love with this series.

Really rounded up from, like, 2.45 stars. Some YA is enjoyable for everyone. Some YA is really only enjoyed by youth. This is the latter. I feel like it’s for 14-15 yo.

I loved this novella! This is the first M/M book I've read and it was just as sweet and hot as the others in this series! It's an enemies to lovers romance and it follows Lark and Crispin, they are super sweet when they eventually admit to each other they like each other and I loved how their relationship was just accepted by everyone with pretty much no drama (well Crispin's Dad being the exception but that's more to do with greed than prejudice)

Royal Reader,

You are invited to attend the illustrious under-the-sea ball at Dahlquist castle.

It is my pleasure to welcome you back to the Royal Conquest world with The Golden Prince - the first in the Royal Conquest Heirs novellas.

Writing this novella felt like sunshine for the soul. This is my wish - to bring a little brightness, love, and laughter to your day.

The novellas are each half the size of a full Royal Conquest novel (ideal during these distracting times!) and can be read in order or as standalones. The Golden Prince is a humorous M/M fantasy romance. Over the years, I've learned to listen to my characters desires. It is with immense pleasure that I present Prince Lark Elmray to the world!

Shine on,
Nikki
