Debbie Macomber’s novel, Perfect Partners, is actually two stories previously published. The first story, Love ‘N’ Marriage is about Stephanie Coulter, a corporate assistant, who works at a company owned by Jonas Lockwood. It’s your typical Hallmark-like story so if you’re not into Hallmark movies, you might not be interested. It’s lighthearted and fun, just what this reader enjoys at the end of a day.
The second story, Rainy Day Kisses, revolves around the characters of Susannah Simmons, a woman focused on a five-year plan until she meets her neighbor, Nate Townsend, who has her thinking twice about what she thought she wanted in life. Another lighthearted story that almost progressed too quickly for me.
The stories fit well together into one novel. I probably would have given 3.5 stars as the predictability was too much, even for this Hallmark movie loving reader. If you’re looking to be entertained, want to smile at the end of a long day, and even chuckle at times, this is the book for you.
