Supernatural Misfits Academy #1

Rogue Reformatory: Busted

Rate this book
The first novel in the Supernatural Misfits Academy series co-written by Amber Lynn Natusch & Marty Mayberry.

Teenage witches Maddy and Celine are as close as two sisters can be. So when Maddy’s power goes haywire and she’s dragged away to Wadsworth Reformatory for magical rehabilitation, overprotective Cece gets herself sent there to bust her out. Escape was the plan from the moment they reunited, but Wadsworth's headmaster and the hostile supernatural student hierarchy prove to be a dangerous hurdle.

To break free, the girls enlist the help of two unlikely allies: a sorcerer with a mysterious past and an elite bad boy who cannot be trusted. Together, the four work to unravel the reformatory’s secrets and find a way out. But when Maddy is accused of murdering a classmate and Cece is nearly killed by a mind-splitting power, they know time is running out.

Can Maddy and Cece survive long enough to escape Wadsworth—or will they die trying?

*Thoughts*

Rogue Reformatory: Busted is the first installment in co-authors Amber Lynn Natusch & Marty Mayberry's Supernatural Misfits Academy series. This series focuses on two sisters: Madeline (Maddy) and Celine (Cece). Maddy is the youngest, she's also a halfie: 1/2 witch, 1/2 shifter although her shifter side hasn't awakened yet. Because her witch side is dominant, she's got endless potential, but she's also untrained and unpredictable. Cece is the oldest by several months. She's a witch / empath.

Good first book in a new series. It’s young adult and mostly takes place in a reformatory for misfit or criminal young people. It features two sisters, one of which wields a dark power-power she has no control over. It also features two young men that first befriend the, but also fall for them. The sisters, new to the institution, realize early on what the guys already know. The place is full of evil magic and is led by evil people. The book also features a new sort of creature that I ended up really liking. Of course, there’s no shortage of villains.

I really enjoyed my time with this read. It’s perfect for young adults probably 14+ maybe younger depending on maturity level because there is violence and even some deaths. I’d definitely recommend it because it was an exciting and a bit dark read-at times more than a bit dark.

As always I have high expectations whenever reading one of Amber's new books and it didn't disappoint. I love the characters and the world building. I sat down and before I knew it I'd finished the whole book in one sitting. It just overtook me. When I put the book down I was left wanting more and here's hoping the wait isn't too long and that it delivers just like this has. Well, in my humble opinion 😁

This book held my attention, was fast paced, had interesting twists, and made me want the sequel NOW.
There are a lot of interesting characters but they are all introduced and built up ways that made them very memorable. Each one is interesting, good guys and bad.
There is quite the cliff hanger at the end, as this author does in most of her books. But there is also a happy ending, and several satisfying conclusions.

OMG this was such a fantastic read.
The best this year.

I love Marty Mayberry, and this book together with Amber Lynn Natusch is so good.
I LOVE Wolfy, please don't ever let something happen to him.

Cece and Maddy are just awesome, just like the boys.

And please hurry with the next 2 books, it's so hard to wait.
Thank you both for such an Fantastic/Magical read.

Loved this book!! Amber is one of my favorite authors, and this did not disappoint!! The sisterly bond between Cece and Maddy was amazing, I can feel their love for each other. Oh, and the boys, idk how to explain them. My favorite character of all was Wolfy. This was an epic story, and kept you intrigued and on your toes. I can't wait for the rest to come out!

“And the bitches are…? Oh, wait! Found one.” I smiled as her cheeks flushed with rage. “Thanks for the directions. I’ll be sure to make my way over there when I damn well feel like it.”

First off Amber is one of my favorite Authors. Not only does she know how to keep every series of hers interesting but she continuously writes these characters that you love and love to hate. This book kept me on my toes and I’ll be waiting impatiently for the next one!!!

It was good, but not great

I thought this story was way too quick. It was also hard to keep the sisters straight. I had a hard time enjoying Cece as a character, but I really enjoyed Aiden. I felt like he has the most going for him in the next books.
