'Red sugar, no more' is a story of young adult finding her way through the harsh and brutal realities of life. It's a collection of modern, free verse, lyrical poetry dealing with loss, grief, anxiety, betrayal, depression, anger and regret.

I saw someone's story on instagram about " Red Sugar, No More". The thing which attracted me writer's note on the book and aesthetic book marks. For me this was the first time to get a writer's note on the book. I immediately ordered the book but the fascinating thing was sijdah's kind behaviour, the way she respond to me makes me her fan. Then the time came when I got the book in my hand. And when I started reading "Red Sugar, No More" it amazed me. The words actually stimulate your nerves. The ...more

Once upon a— No wait! This isn’t a fairy tale. It’s a tale of strength, valour and healing, of a girl, a flower, the most alluring in the garden, dainty. A tale of girls young and vibrant, and the boys too, lustful and vicious. Back in the day when everything was smeared with

Red Sugar, No More is one of the best pieces of literature I’ve ever read. This is for sure one of the best books I’ve read this year.
This book summarises the phases of a human life, starting from the joys of life to the fears in life, from love to heartbreaks, being best buddies to losing them, depression, anxiety, mental sickness etc.
I loved each and every word Sijdah wrote in her book.

Man is a creature which can feel, think and write. The more feelings and thoughts are intense, the more written words hurt (i mean their bitter taste). And if these words are arranged and contain someone heart's animosity then the fusion becomes unbearable. It make us gone thru the acute and furious pain. But if we have the art to turn our pain into lessons then it starts healing our heart and pain becomes power.
This book is also a purely written heart of the author. This book is an aftereffect

I would not be lying if I say I devoured this book in just one sitting only. The book covers the topics like mental health, patriarchy, paranoia, bullying, hatred, friendships and many more topics like this. Most of the poems are inspired from real life events. The writer takes you through the journey of suffering and healing. Her words are raw and pure. It literally feels like she has put her soul into these words. She beautifully described those emotions and feelings from which one go through ...more

This poetry book definitely speaks volume! I loved the topics discussed in the book including bullying, depression, and anxiety. This book definitely hits hard and needs to be read with good breaks especially if you get triggered with topics mentioned above. Overall it was a worth reading debut book by Sijdah, and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. My full review can be found in the link below:
