Ahh!! I have been WAITING for this book, waiting for Elaina and Alex to finally get together and it did not disappoint! Easily going to be one of my favorite romances of the year. And if you too love to see strong, smart, prickly women finding love with men who don't feel the need to dominate them, then do yourself a favor and read Careless Whispers! Also if you want an HEA with a late-30's to 40 couple that doesn't want kids, this might be the book for you.

I will say, it's going to pack more of

I must say, I kind of enjoyed the story, but I felt the author was sort of hard on Elaina....Elaina had a tough time through out this book....and I'm wondering when someone is REALLY going to tell Grant's A** off? The Robidoux patriarch is just too much and since book 1 he's been getting away with doing and saying whatever he wants and I'm really sick of him! Although, his children finally stuck together and pulled a fast one on him at the end of the book...He still needs to be put in his place! ...more

Careless Whispers is book 3 in Synithia Williams’ Jackson Falls series. There are storylines that run throughout the series, so I recommend experiencing them all and in order – starting with the novella, The Promise of a Kiss.

I luuuuuurrrrvveeee Williams’ story for Elaina and her nemesis-turned-lover Alex. Elaina is known as an ice queen, but there’s a real woman with feelings underneath. Alex thinks he can break through – but whether or not he can do it without getting cut by the shards is a di
I've been mulling over what to say about this book since I finished it yesterday because I really love Synithia Williams' brilliant writing and engaging characters, but I felt like this book was really bogged down by the familial drama that usually contributes to my love of this series.

Elaina is the oldest daughter, she is the one for whom control of the family business has always been the most appealing and something she has strived to be good at, and she is also cold as a sort of protective m

This is Elaina’s story and I was very anxious to read it. She seems so cold in the previous books. She is anything but that. She has had to show a ruthlessness about her in the hopes that she will gain her dad’s approval. Let me just say that there is a special place in hell for parents who are like her father.

Alex is just trying to take it a little easy a

I have been waiting for Elaina’s book, and it did not disappoint! Alex is her perfect match, and together they are just perfection! Loved it!

We've been waiting on Elaina's story for a long while. She has had a tough road when it comes to love. Her ex husband is now married to her younger sister, and all she has these days is her work. So when her father fires her, and hires Alex, her arch nemesis, she doesn't know how to handle life. She doesn't let it get her down though. She uses all of that ambition to work towards her own business. She is a heroine that some may find hard to love, but I love her for it.
The last thing Alex wanted

Elaina Robidoux is the oldest sister of her siblings Byron and India, who has always been the one to make sure everything is run to perfection from the Robidoux company business to family events and problem solving. Elaina always followed the advice her mother would give her growing up and she always fought hard to show her ruthless father Grant Robidoux that she can run the family business he always promised her. She never bothered to try to have a love life because a forced marriage by her fat ...more

4.5. I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Careless Whispers is the third in the Jackson Falls series. It can work as a stand-alone, however there is some drama and character backstory from the first book that influences this one, so I think it would be a good idea to read that one first.

I had mixed feelings about Elaina going in. I like a complicated heroine, but I also didn’t know how I’d feel after having seen her through

Elaina's journey of the heart is not to be missed!

I absolutely adore reading about strong women who are hard to love. Elaina's been groomed from the very beginning to fail at matters of the heart, being raised by a mother who instilled in her a drive to succeed without ever letting emotions get in the way and a father who manipulates her in every way possible, at every opportunity. Seeing her finally come into her own after getting to know her in the earlier two books makes this one unforgettabl

Alex Tyson doesn't know what he did to make Elaina Robidoux despise him. She'd probably have a hard time telling too and would have to explain about her family's history. She's seen as a coldhearted business woman by everyone but our hero doesn't mind her temper. He changed his way of life at 37, after a serious health wake-up call and people would probably tell him it's a bad idea to get in the middle of Elaina's family drama, but after getting her involuntary fired, he accept to help her and c ...more

This novel reads like dynasty or a family soap opera. At the middle of the drama there is Elaina Robideaux a prickly tough as nails business woman who wants to prove to her father that she can hold her own in the business. Alex comes along and he is seen by Elaina as a threat to her power however Alex is just looking for a change in pace and doesn't want to be in between the Grant (the controlling family patriarch) and his overachiever daughter.

In the mean time Alex also can't deny that he is a

Tired of being trapped under her father's thumb, Elaina starts her own business. When her newest supplier turns out to have ties to her nemesis, Alex, she doesn't flinch. She's learned how to separate her emotions from her business decisions. The more she sees Alex outside of work, the more undeniable the attraction is between them. But when her father tries to use Alex to undermine her, will her family drama tear them apart?

This book engrossed me from start to finish. The story never dragged,

This series is definitely one of my favorites. I have been waiting for Elaina's HEA and it is finally here!

Elaina is smart, strong, and a bit hard to love. She doesn't realize that her directness can come across as prickly and rude. She works hard for what she wants and doesn't care who gets in her way.

Elaina is the CEO of the family business and is threatened by Alex, who has joined their business in R&D. Despite Elaina's prior firing of Alex, and her father's rehiring, Alex has no intentions

There's lots of drama in this tale of ambition, family, and love. Elaina's sister is now with her ex, her father has hired Alex to work in the company she has thought would hue hers, and mow, he's fired her. So she picks herself up and starts her own company, only to discover that Alex, the man she thought of as a rival, is actually a good guy. So good that the two of them slowly (not that slowly) come to one another as equals both in business and in love. If you've read the earlier books you kn ...more
Another beautifully written story in this amazing series—the best one yet! Elaina is my favorite Robidoux, no doubt. I knew she’d be awesome! I love how strong she is, persevering, keeping her chin up and armor in place, protecting her vulnerable heart and the genuinely caring person underneath. I adore Alex for her! His determination to take things slow(er), in love and life, the way he truly sees her. He finds himself in a very difficult position, caught between so many conflicting interests a ...more

I have enjoyed the Jackson Falls series very much. Each book introducing dynamic characters, contributing to the tapestry of the Robidoux clan. Elaina is complicated, a dutiful daughter driven, intelligent and grace under pressure. Alex Tyson is smart, committed to his family, and self possessed. The two exist in a state of acrimony, butting heads while continually getting under each other's skin. Despite this Alex creeps beneath Elaina's protective façade eliciting emotions neither expected. First off, I did not realise this was a series, and second, the book can be read as a standalone. What captured my attention? The gorgeous cover followed by the summary of the heroine.

I must say I LOVED Elaine Robidoux. If you want to see a fully-fleshed real character, say hello to the strong-willed and determined Elaine, head of the company and groomed from birth to run Robidoux Tobacco. I did not find her the least bit “bitchy.” I found her vulnerable underneath her tough exterior, confused,

I really enjoyed this book. This was my first read from this author. I felt the characters were well developed and the plot was really good and detailed. The family drama and the steamy love making was intense. The author did a great job with the climax of the story and did an excellent job with the heroine. The main character was a beast but she was aware of her flaws and owned them. I love that the strength of women was evident. The book was tastefully crafted. I so loved it.

This installment was the best one yet! Elaina was the sibling that while trying to please the demanding patriarch, Grant, was losing herself. The Robidoux family is a hot mess on any day, but this was a great story f redemption fir them all.

Made Elaina sympathetic

I was wondering if it could be done and I bought it completely. I liked her Alex and how he handled her prickles, and I liked the delay to work on self that came before the HEA
