Shelves: death, spirituality
This book was interesting; I liked the dialogue format the author had with his spirit/soul guide Laz. But still, the whole time I couldn't help but think that Laz was just this extremely gossipy angel, spilling the whole can of beans about all the secret mysteries of life and death to some random dude named Bud... and then Bud went and wrote a book about it. I felt like Laz was going to be in deep shit with the higher energies for exposing the answers to all these mysteries. I mean, why does Bud ...more

“Soul Afterlife: Beyond the Near-Death Experience” by Bud Megargee is the companion piece to his 2018 book, “Soul Imprints: The Legacy of Existence.” Not having read “Soul Imprints,” this reviewer cannot name the similarities and differences between the two books. Megargee references his past works occasionally if only to refer to his soul-guide energy resource, known as Laz, and his oracle, Shirlet. Laz has explained to Megargee and Shirlet many of life’s perplexing questions related to human s ...more

Megargee—former senior healthcare executive; a Washington, DC, healthcare lobbyist; and award-winning author—draws both on his personal journey of self-discovery and other people’s mystical experiences as he examines death as a concept with due complexity, soul life, and the process of plausible reincarnation.

Megargee begins with “The Octopus Analogy” (the world of a cluster of souls within the framework of a sea creature), continues through soul’s seven senses and the seven heavens and seven h

Spirituality has become a topic that is readily discussed and investigated. There are still some taboos about the discussion of life, death and the afterlife depending on your religious background or your personal beliefs. In Bud Megargee’s book The Soul Afterlife: Beyond the Near-Death Experience we get to witness an individual’s foray into the unknown. A former Catholic and now a practicing Buddhist, Megargee shows readers his perspective by both discussing various Buddhist theories as well as ...more

Soul Afterlife: Beyond the Near-Death Experience by Bud Megargee is an insightful book that I could read over and over again. Many of us wonder what happens to our soul when we die and there are several different interpretations out there but who knows what really is on the other side? Bud Megargee was courageous enough to explore this subject and share his discoveries with us. The author provides candid interviews with people who had near death experiences. Megargee provides us with detailed in ...more

In Soul Afterlife: Beyond the Near-Death Experience written by Bud Megargee readers will find an excellent read about a topic that is controversial and that we hardly talk about. However, it is an issue that worries us constantly and that we generally have on our minds. This book discusses life and death and all the themes related to these ineluctable instances of our existence.
Author Megargee transmits his knowledge and findings based on research, personal experience and interviews, and the re

In ‘Soul Afterlife: Beyond the Near-Death Experience’ Bud Megargee writes about stuff that we all think about but barely get the courage to discuss; life and death. In his beautiful writing, Bud Megargee gets one to examine the purpose of life, why man lives the way he does and why death is final. He notes critical points and supports his theories with facts and truths. I like Bud Megargee’s writing because of how raw it feels. The author drives the point home without using long sentences or sug ...more

The desire to know the unknown makes us humans complicated. There is always a moment where all of us had these questions, what happens after death? Is there a continuity to soul-life? Another world, does that even exist? Author Bud Megargee’s vivid expedition into the realms of the soul with clarity and ...more

Soul Afterlife: Beyond the Near-Death Experience by Bud Megargee is the result of thorough research about the process of development of human souls in life and death. Megargee explains what happens when we die, a huge unknown topic to many readers. The author shares all his knowledge, how it just started to grow in his student period in physiology when his patients tell him their near-death experiences. The narrative is established as a conversation, taking in account those entire memories which

Soul Afterlife is a book that will have the reader reread certain points to help answer any questions they’ve possibly had for a long time. Author Bud Megargee has created a wonderful book that ventures into the depths of the human soul.
Near death experiences are known to provoke an awakening within a person and it allows them to see life in many different aspects. The author with the help of his spiritual guide Laz takes us into a spiritual world, based on western religion, to see what will be

Soul Afterlife is a spiritual book by Bud Megargee. The style of the book is a series of interviews. This book describes people’s near-death experiences and how it is not really a death if someone survives “dying.” Through the examination of these near-death experiences and how reincarnation may work. When someone has a near-death experience, they are tiptoeing the line of death, the afterlife, and the aspects of possible reincarnation. Megargee starts off with the theory/analogy of the soul, th ...more

Very Enjoyable Read

This is the best book about souls and the afterlife that I have ever read. My interest in this type of genre goes back 30 plus years. Bud asks the exact questions that I have never had answered by other mediums or channelers. I have attended a few in person, but never had the chance to offer my questions. Except for a few lingering questions that I still have , Bud has answered them all. I read the book in two days. I highly recommend this book

This blew my mind

I have read MANY books on the after life, but this one stands above all the rest. Much of what the author articulated blew my mind - but strangely felt true. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking deep understanding on what REALLY happens after we die.
