I really wanted to give this book a higher rating, but I just couldn't. IMHO it lacks depth! If you're looking for a "surface" religious read, this would be a good choice. But, if you want a book with some depth, look elsewhere.

I read it because our minister is doing a series of lessons based on this book. So, I was just reading the section he would be preaching on each week.

A book wrapped around Jesus final hours with his disciples. He leaves words of comfort,of caution,of hope and warning. These are words that Jesus wanted every believer to know.

I was encouraged to read this book because the Epilogue (written in 2000) was nearly descriptive of the pandemic of 2020 -- and it really was! I can remember hearing Jeff Walling's dead speak about the old "Joy Buses". Over the years I have had the occasion to hear him speak a time or two, but have never seriously read or listened to much of his material. But I thought that he did a really good job of giving 12 lessons from John 14-16. The premise is that Jesus told the disciples that he was leaving at the beginning, and then tells them some things that they need to know and do -- "Until I Return". I thoroughly enjoyed the material, and appreciated his insights into the material. I would recommend this book to others.
